Best ambient albums?

Not that one

...

Wasn't saying it is. Just asking for recs

Konig is patrician pick

bumping out of interest

As someone passionately into ambient, these are all classics

Arctica - Annuminas, Black Hole, Breath of the Sea
Stars of the Lid- The Tired Sounds...., ..And their Refinement of the Decline
Coil- Time Machines
Robert Rich- Somnium, Perpetual
Tim Hecker- Haunt Me, Radio Amor, Harmony in Ultraviolet, Ravedeath

This is such a good album, damn

Hiroshi Yoshimura - Music For Nine Post Cards
Tetsu Inoue - World Receiver
Steve Hillage - Rainbow Dome Musick
Steve Roach - Structures From Silence

...

>progressive electronic.

have you listened to anything other than ambient 1

i mean everything after the late 70s.

i'm not familiar with his later ambient albums. which ones are worth listening to?

let me clarify a bit more, i'm not talking specifically about brian eno. Just mean ambient music that isnt in the vein of progressive electronic. Not that theres anything wrong with it, was just replying to your pic with a shitpost.

i wasn't the guy that posted the pic

A Deeper Silence

...

I love this and his work but it really needs to be streaming since what.cd shut down

Ambient has become the main genre i listen to nowadays, so i'll name a few i enjoyed.
Pete Namlook & Klaus Schulze - The Dark Side Of The Moog 1
Eraldo Bernocchi and Harold Budd - Music For 'Fragments From The Inside'
Mo Boma - Myths Of The Near Future Part 1
Harold Budd - Avalon Sutra
Chad Hoefler - Quiet Glow
Circular - Substans
Klaus Schulze - La Vie Electronique, Vol. 15
Richard H. Kirk - Virtual State
Loscil - Triple Point
Robert Rich & B. Lustmord - Stalker
Thom Brennan - Beneath Clouds

Thumbs up for mentioning Namlook. FAX records stuff gets overlooked these days.

Continue and Moments are both great, too. I've not heard his other stuff, but it doesn't seem to get any attention anyway.

Yeah, when i first found fax records on discogs it was like i hit the goldmine of electronic music. I've listened to all the dark side of the moogs and the first is my fave followed by number 9. I bought:
Namlook - Silence
two boxsets containing the first 8 dsotm editions
Namlook & Move D - Raumland Exploration
Anthony Rother - 62 Minute on Mars
Everything i've heard on Fax is just so bloody good.

Yeah, it's a real treasure trove. My favorites are the Namlook and Tetsue Inoue collaborations, particularly 2350 Broadway III, Shades of Orion II, and 62 Eulengasse. I also love the first Koolfang album.
