The band formed in January 1983 out of the ashes of the punk band The Grey Wolves (no relation to the PE group of the same name). The band suffered a number of line-up changes, leaving just Steve X and Tony Mitchell in the band, both of whom were dedicated nationalists. Sadly, this song is the only recording of theirs which has surfaced.
The band allegedly produced one demo called "Play to Win" released by Defendant Tapes. If anyone finds this, consider yourself crowned a hero.
Lyrics:
Walking through the ghetto on my way home I suddenly realize that I'm alone Is it the color of my skin or the color of my hair Or is it just the clothes I wear Why you're following me this late at night all home
Black pigmentation: genetic deviation
I'm not surprised that things aren't said When their attitudes are just so red In the ghettos, that's where they lurk 'cause multiracial societies, they just don't work Is it the color of my skin or the color of my hair Or is it just the clothes I wear Why you're following me this late at night all home
Black pigmentation: genetic deviation
It's going to end, you know that it's going to end.
why do they call themselves nationalists and not just neo nazis
Aaron Miller
>then you are hereby commanded to listen to this
Well, "as a fascist", I must do what you say!!
Aiden Perry
lol, yeah I really like this.
Samuel Perry
They sadly never released anything else.
A demo titled "Play to Win" allegedly was released by Defendant Tapes. If anyone finds and shares it, they will go down in history as heroes. A band this great doesn't deserve to die in obscurity.
Perhaps with the recent rise of Fashwave, these guys will come out of the woodwork and start making music again.
The band's use of reverbed guitars put them in the Post-Punk camp, but they also had a distinct minimal synth/synthpop influence. A friend of mine festively speculated this might be what disco would've sounded like had the Axis won the War. His description couldn't have been more perfect.
I like how the song enters on a crescendoing tone before dat funky-ass bassline hits us. It perfectly sets the rhythm for the rest of the instruments to keep time with.
Anyway, they did print lyrics to a song commemorating the soldiers returning home from the Falklands.
The March
Don’t you feel so proud To be one of the crowd When they walk by With their heads held high? Each man would give his life For his child and wife And for his whole country Which includes you and me And they walk by With their heads held high
Cameron Nguyen
Nice. Predictive. Song's pretty cool too. Repetitive but the atmosphere keeps it from being straight up boring. They're not necessarily socialists. They're also not German.
Jason Rogers
I'm surprised nobody's commented on OP's trips. It couldn't be more appropriate given the music's Nazism.
Jason Lopez
>nazism
Dominic James
this nationalism isn't the same as nazism.
Brayden Young
Considering the band originally called themselves Luftwaffe X and The Grey Wolves before settling on The Final Sound, I'd say Nazism is an appropriate label.
Not that it changes my opinion of their music. It's quite fun.
William Howard
What does Sup Forums think of Fashwave?
Justin Wright
Never heard of it until now. Is Bandcamp censoring it or something? Not even the C Y B E R N ∆ Z I album I followed the tag from is on here. bandcamp.com/tag/fashwave?artist=2920624281
Shit music for losers with shit taste who have never heard of the Units
Tyler Rogers
Yeah, C Y B E R N ∆ Z I has some cool stuff.
Xurious, too.
I personally hope this shit catches on to a broader audience, 'cause Vaporwave is playing itself out.
Kayden Young
Are you trying to imply I don't own "Digital Stimulation"?
It's good fun, but I like The Final Sound better because they incorporate an actual guitar. It really helps drive the music better than just pure synth.
Josiah Bailey
I really like the distorted guitar tracks. I'll check out Xurious. It's not going to catch on unless it catches on "ironically". The joke will be "well, we Trump now, so I gotta go fash lol".
Jaxson Watson
Lel this music is absolute garbage but find whatever reason you need to latch onto this filth. Are you gonna tell me Skrewdriver is really great punk too?
Between John Bender and the Units, there is zero reason to ever listen to this derivative muck
Jaxson Jones
>Skrewdriver is really great punk too? I know you're signaling to your comrades, but you're an absolute fuckwit if you think "Back with a Bang" is anything short of a landmark in skinhead music. Keep in mind I listen to plenty of Punk from Skrewdriver and Skullhead to CRASS and Conflict, and it stands the test of time.
Charles Long
so to be clear, you genuinely think Skrewdriver made good music
A song like this would be thoroughly unconscionable in Punk even with Andy Martin's politics as a queer individual anarchist
Have you noticed how the media refuse to listen to an honest, poor man's views? Have you noticed how the television and newspapers are financed by the Jews? Doesn't it make you sick? Education for our kids Is run by four-by-twos and front-wheel skids
On the streets of London, the muggers get to work in gangs of five All these disgusting cowards and ponces make me sad to be alive Doesn't it make you sick? Our crime is being white And British people can't walk the streets at night
And now the IRA have spread their terrorism to our land Killing innocent people with sectarian hate, I'll never understand Doesn't it make you sick? Is anybody asking why The communists laugh while British people die?
Dykes on bikes and feminists and pedophiles and homosexual scum Combined with commie filth are turning all our land into a slum Doesn't it make you sick? Does anybody really care? The queers spread AIDS disease everywhere
Communism Kills - So - Kill Communism!
Evan Lee
Wow, those extremely empty minded nationalist lyrics are really impressing me, as the narrator places all blame for life problems on everything but themselves
Funny how that works
Cooper Hughes
>so to be clear, you genuinely think Skrewdriver made good music You're a moron if you think they haven't.
Just how the proles blame the "rich" for all their problems :^)
Carson Rivera
Nah, I just don't listen to shitty derivative music solely because it has lyrics that make me feel okay with being a degenerate loser cuz it's other people's fault for my problems
Jackson Russell
Should I make a progressive fashwave album or would that be too oxymoronic?
Jace Rivera
Wow, projecting and virtue-signaling.
Oliver Barnes
>Progressive In what way? Musically progressive?
Ayden Phillips
Yeah. Mainly just a lot of time signature fuckery, probably.
Well, try it out. Make some music, sleep on it and then hear it with fresh ears. If it isn't sounding right, then try figuring out where you're going wrong and try something else.
Jace Brown
I got me a soundblaster soundfont and an infinite drive to procrastinate on Christmas shopping, so I'll see how it goes.
Joseph Davis
Keep us posted on what you'll be creating.
Sup Forums occasionally has Synthwave threads, so share your work when the time comes.
Samuel Gutierrez
I'm surprised Nazi New Wave wasn't a thing because angsty suburban nerds would've been the perfect audience for it.
