Is grindcore punk or metal?
Best is pop punk
no

Local band just released this, other good early 2017/late 2016 releases?
metal IMO
some is more punk, some is more metal.
if the music is less about riffs and the aesthetic is more anarchist/vegan/punk etc then its punk. if theres more riffs and the aesthetic is more horror, death, etc then its metal. obv, these differentiations are kind of silly though because grind is saddled right between these two umbrella genres.
this is pretty sweet desu
i like the vox quite a bit
this is fucking cool, thanks
they broke up???
that fucking sucks dude these guys are WILD

vexx is pretty neat
This is good stuff. Kinda reminds me of touche amore

Shit is it really true that Hot Liqs only has 100 LP copies? I just bought it from this store here in Richmond, it sounded good when I tried it out, didn't even know it was a Mark Winter project.
Liquids is Matt's project, Mark just played drums for a while.
Nosferatu is amazing but I can't find their music anywhere
Huh, guess I got the wrong ex-Conehead member with that post! But yeah you're right, I think the same's for Mark on Ooze, too, right where he's not an actual member?
Saw these guys live awhile back still digging them. youtube.com

An Australian skramz band I follow 'Blind Girls' were included in this list for 2016. Some other really great bands included. Thoughts? Recs?
openmindsaturatedbrain.blogspot.com.au
that's one of my favorite blogs. it's fantastic for skramz recs, i feel like i learn 5 new bands every time i check it. haven't heard blind girls but i'll look them up. you recommend the split mentioned on that blog or something else to start with?
It's kinda both. Although I've had better discussions about grindcore in /metal/ since people tend to be more accepting of it. In punk threads you just get butthurt nerds who complain about grindcore because they hate breakdowns and fun.
Nah he probably dickrides Skegss and looks like this.
Haven't actually listened to that split yet desu. I like there first two releases that can be found on their bandcamp. I mostly just like them because they're the only decent band to come out of where I live in a long time.
This is so accurate it hurts.
any good noise rock bands latelly?
i find i can be picky with splits because the wrong pairing can really fuck up the cohesion. like, khayembii communique is one of my favorite skramz bands but i listen to the s/t way more than i listen to their split with vida blue
also ty, i'll check out one of those two. i'd love to have some solid skramz or even emo around my area, there are some good metal bands but i feel like those are everywhere
Brisbane (my hometown) is just full of shit metal bands, so its refreshing to hear some decent screamo/skramz break away from all the banal downtuned djent groups that form here.
ah yeah that's the absolute worst. we've at least got some solid black metal, which is prob my favorite subgenre as far as metal goes
bump
prog screamo
Whores released an album last year it like a mix of metal and noise rock

Techno cyber punk

Anyone here heard of Crash Box? They were an Italian punk band in the 80s. They put out a few albums and an EP before they broke up in 1989, but they reformed in 2008. They released their discography in a box set in 2013.
