Death would be too merciful for this general.
It's surprisingly good
whats your aotysf?
AOTY confirmed
>Get into metal 10 years ago
>Listen exclusively to metal for like 8 or so years
>Now listen to a lot of other shit and occasionally listen to metal
Anyone else?
apparently I'm gonna have to learn to like it
they're touring with Gatecreeper who has the far superior new album
...
Same tour but we get Youth Code instead
and you really hate this that much? They seem kinda similar as I recall.
m.youtube.com
The drums are kinda weak but other than that I'm liking it.
Is this worth going? Also the fuck is Black Anvil
we're getting both
Code Orange, Gatecreeper, Youth Code, Illustrations at Barracuda (611 E. 7th St.) [+] [9pm, all ages]
I'm not the same user
>Also the fuck is Black Anvil
new album last week. Its ok. Kinda like black metalcore which is slightly less nauseating than it sounds.
Yes it is
ah
do you not have one?
>no Euronymous
Why bother going
My aotysf is the pic I posted, senpai
I like the drums honestly
Can't believe I missed this record coming out
That's a reason to go tbqh
I wonder what that drum set up looks like
Snare: cooking pot
Cymbal: trash can lids
Bass: luggage
Well, let's see. Should you?
Considering Mayhem sucks, no
That's a slam setup son
>Bass: luggage
Have you seen this before? My friends band does it.
Twice actually, both were Florida Folk Punk bands. Go figure.
youtube.com
Not even released yet, but already AOTY. However, will Paul Masdival ruin it?
youtube.com
still not in Metallum so I guess its official that its never going. Sad!
Stop crying and add it
Nor should it considering how shit it is
oh I just assumed it got rejected. I've never added anything there before.
people add their own bands all the time. hell there's entries that have no discography at all.
you cowards dont even listen to grindcore
my gaoty 2016 was Embalmer
this shit is not grindcore
Is there anything else like this?
Is Pain of Salvation actually good? I've only ever given Remedy Lane a brief listen and it just sounded like whiny proge. Like Dream Theater but even cringier.
you mean aside from ride the lightning?
youtube.com
not especially similar but its a recent example
This is the only album I've heard but I was surprised. I saw that its at the rym top spot and figured it was a total meme but I can actually see how people might be excited about it.
I'm digging this, thanks.
But yeah, Master of Puppets really hits all the right spots for me. Aggressive, punchy, but still with some great melody and plenty of variety. It and Ride The Lightning are really special.
I know they are babbys first thrash but the quality is undeniable imo
awesome glad you like it. It actually gets even more Metallica-esque later on.
Completely unironic question pls
no bully.
What are some of the best metalcore albums?
Jane Doe, No Heroes the list goes on
Journal - Unlorja
Burst - Lazarus Bird
Lye by Mistake - Arrangements for Fulminating Vective
Is all converge really metalcore though? They were one of the first though yeah.

Released:
1994
i LOVED trivium in high school
youtube.com
Is this any good?
>going back through rym year lists
>notice The Satanist is the highest rated metal album of 2014
Jesus 2014 was a shitty fucking year. All I can remember from that year is Citadel and Pale Communion which were both mediocre.
Jane Doe
That's it.
Don't you wanna find out yourself?
wat r u saying
What's with the production on this album? It's so muffled and quiet.
>Sodom
Encucked.
Rise Of The North Star - Welcame
They're not really the best in Metalcore. They're Hatebreed with a Weeb gimmick.
Sup /meal/ rate my shitty thrash metal band's first demo
soundcloud.com
Gaza - No Absolutes in Human Suffering
I also listened to He Is Never Coming Back from them yesterday and it was good maybe even great, need a couple more listens.
At the Gates - Slaughter of the Soul is a good album but it's debateable if it's metalcore or not.
Converge is a pretty obvious choise. Jane Doe and Axe to Fall are my favorites.
It's like Dream Theater if the vocalist was Mike Patton
Also sounds like Leprous at times.
Wew lad which one of you made this thread
Nope. I've never listened exclusively to metal at any stage. I always included rock and some electronic stuff, then got into jazz after I finished school.
Pretty much just how much of what I listen to changes over the months and weeks, some weeks I listen almost exclusively to rap and EDM then I listen to Black Metal for a few weeks then I mix it up etc.
RELEASE THE BLACKENED DOVE
FOR THERE WAS NEVER LIGHT ABOVE
wait hatebreed isn't metalcore?
Gojira – Magma
it's all moshcore/JUMPDAFUCCUP i think is the point he's making
Good meme
What was /metal/ like in 2014?
Better
Icelandic grindcore interests me
i always considered them the one semi bearable metalcore band, i guess now thats back to zero.
Starting a drum cover Youtube channel. give me some songs I should play
>vocalist says "guitar" or "go" just as solo is about to start
NEVER AGAIN
pretty good
>tripfag complimenting my stuff on /meal/
I don't know how to react.
le riff est sympa ca me rappel black fast et vektor
which of these fine lads are you?
Holy shit I just found out Jeff Loomis plays on this
youtube.com
What's that ridiculous grind song with fast tin can drums and diarrhoea noise vocals?
I didn't mean to sound so disparaging. Everyone feels like JUMPINGDAFUCCUP occasionally, and when you do, there's no better outlet than moshcore.
As for bearable metalcore, I've found early Killswitch Engage, Northlane, and Walking With Strangers did not totally suck.
death/black/doom with some thrash and heavy and the outlier power/prog poster. Death/black was still pretty trendy with all the caverncore stuff. dmshareguy comes in with death metal sharethreads to the board in general which bolsters dm posting but eventually becomes ""music-positive"" inviting djent posting which slippery slopes into generalized shitposting and it's been a downhill slope from there. This general is a Sup Forums colony at peak American hours nowadays.
Dillinger Escape Plan
After the Burial
Every Time I Die
Protest the Hero (inb4 nu-male)
ERRA
Slice the Cake
Darkest Hour
Neurosis
Thanks mate, I got three or four other songs waiting to be recorded. I did listen extensively to Terminal Redux this year so I'm actively trying not to copy their stuff too much but it can't be helped. There's a lot of Priest, Accept, Megadeth or Coroner ripping off going on in my songwriting, we'll see how it plays out in the long run. Good/bad thing about our town is it has next to no thrash scene but a gazillion stoner/core bands so it'll be a bit easier to stand out.
I ain't telling you but we did try to look as stupid as possible on the picture.
I do bro, but I think is for school. I listen to any piano classic or OST i like to focus when I study. And some rare times I get crazy and listen to Sodom or DRI.
>DUDE FUCK GOD LMAO
Essential buttproge?
still some of the most interesting riffwork of any osdm
...
yeah fuck that deity bro
Here's the original proge chart
Kys
>born of Osiris
?
youtube.com
>that video
How is this not full proge
