Hello, Sup Forums, I'm a noob to music. I don't know even how to read sheet music. But I have decided to play the instrument I played as a child again to counter my depression.
The instrument I play have 17 notes (pic related) and I want to play Closer of The Chainsmokers as a starter (Vid: youtube.com/watch?v=PT2_F-1esPk)
But the dude's voice is so low and the instrument's range is much higher than that. I'll use the vocal-track-less version of Closer as a backing track.
Questions
1. Can I change the pitch of the backing track using programs (FL Studio?) ? If so, how do I do it? or do i have to hire someone to rewrite the song in a pitch that suits my instrument?
2. How do I find the fingering I need to follow to play the song? C Major is easier, but I have a feeling that I won't able to play all songs in that pitch (scale? sorry im new to terms too) for other pitches, many half-sounds? flats and sharps appear and if I dismiss them the song sounds off. this is all so confusing but fascinating to me.
Thanks for reading. Looking forward to your input.

oh and i write it here because there was no Q&A thread and i didn't want to bother the board creating a new thread with a question. i found this thread to be most relevant.
So I tried to make a bit of a heavier sound, usually I go straight ambient uplifting, this time I incorporated some synthwave Hotline Miami style shiznit.
Hoping you all dig, and I return all the stuff and things.
Finally got my hands on a piano that could fit in my apartment. Very rusty, as I haven't played in many years, but here it is regardless. Any feedback will be returned. Thanks gents.
Stuff is super cool and chill, just kinda repetitive, I think if you switched it up here and there you'd have some more variation to keep the listener interested.

pretty nice, tho the beginning of "sp" is a little monotonous
really nice, I'd go to your gig if you were holding one in my area, the dialogues really fit with the overall experience
I'm still trying to figure out how to write good melodies, that shit is fucking hard. I really like experimenting with sound though, and weird time signatures, and other things. music is a huge creative outlet for me so even if the song doesn't turn out great I still have fun making it. let me know what you guys think.
this isn't my style of music like, at all. but Mesothelioma is dope. can't really criticize it though
I don't really know how to say this, but something about your synths seems kinda basic? I feel like this kind of music would benefit from some weirder sounds (but that's just my opinion). I think the song itself is solid though.
honestly I'm still kind of a novice to sample usage so I can't really criticize there, it sounded nice. I feel like this style of music could benefit from branching out and trying more unique sounds for the percussion though. what was there sounded very vanilla, if that makes any sense.
gotta go but I may post more feedback later today if the thread is still up
Think I'll look over the thread when I get off work and have some time to myself. But I'd really like to hear some rock/alt-rock from someone. I hope you're in here somewhere
this is pretty good, but idk i guess i preffer my jungle songs with aggressive toasting and dirtier breaks but musically its pretty nice, especially when the bongos come in

>OP is using my exact thread, right down to the picture this is a nice feel
>soundcloud.com/btmkr3000 Really cool ambient vibe to a lot of these beats, good to have on in the background, would like to hear some vocal sampling on some of them to see how it would mesh.
uumm beats n stuff like that... working on music all the time n going nowhere :- )

There are some really cool moments in your first track- interesting samples and instrumentation. You also have that DnB style of drums down pretty well- I think maybe a little more chaos or energy would keep me more captivated. I like how you were going for a mellow sound though, it's actually really cool. But I can't help but feel like it's missing something. I like it, though, I feel like you're on the brink of really nailing down your own sound.
Anyway, here's my stuff. It's a fresh account because I got locked out of my previous stuff. All I have so far is a compilation of acoustic sad songs, breakup stuff. I tried to put myself into it though so I hope you guys enjoy. Thanks. soundcloud.com/user-335968665
Biggest thing you could work on is the production of the vocals I think. Currently they're dominating the midrange which makes them really boomy and present. I think you could bring them down in the mix and eq them a little higher so they blend with the beat more. Right now they kind of feel like they're sitting on top, especially with the reverb you've got on it. Dope stuff tho
Damn man this is pretty tight, the one-mic (i assume) setup works for this and blends/peaks it well. I feel like your voice will be polarizing but I like it, just work on your inflection on melodic leaps, try not to scoop as much. But I really dig the vocal style dude.
Tight production but it doesn't feel like it's doing anything that new. Also be careful when cutting the highs on a track that you don't end up peaking the bass, like around 0:45. Throw a compressor on it
This is me rn, the song itself is just filler, I'm mainly looking for production feedback. The guitars feel meh to me but I'm finally getting a drum sound I like. Give a dude some feedback, thanks guys
