Nice post Mr shill, but who cares about some whiny entitled numale fucks shitty band?

I do. They are good.

i don't think i've heard any mountain goats song like the new track. it's almost disco-y.

Also, a link to an .epub of Universal Harvester if anyone wants it.

John Darnielle - Universal Harvester
>epub, lead singer of mountain goats writes a book, its bretty gud

i've been looking for this, thanks!

John Darnielle - Wolf in White Van
>epub, lead singer of mountain goats' first book, its really gud

>not liking the greatest lyricist of our times

What's with all these anti-intellectual faux-alphas anyway? Playing pretend on the internet isn't going to change you from a sad sack of shit mate.

Darnielle is the single best lyricist in modern music, dumb fuck

I recently read Wolf in White Van and Universal Harvester and was blown away. Where would I start if I've never heard a MG track in my life?

there are more or less two eras - their early material is very lo-fi, pretty much just john darnielle playing acoustic guitar recorded on a boombox. after all hail west texas, they started using better production, and have more complex instrumentation. i slightly prefer lo-fi goats, but they're my favorite band and i love all of their stuff.

here's one of my favorite songs from the lo-fi era: youtube.com/watch?v=QIs7frg1i3M

oh so you're one of those assholes that always requests this song.

nah, never been to a goats show sadly but i know better than to request golden boy

what album is this from

originally released on a mini compilation, but it's available on Ghana

if you want a lo-fi goats album to start with i'd pick All Hail West Texas though

from the bandcamp (themountaingoats.bandcamp.com/album/goths):

>NO COMPED VOCALS
>NO PITCH CORRECTION
>NO GUITARS

HYPE

i literally strolled over to Sup Forums to make a "Transcendental Youth is the best TMG album, prove me wrong (protip you can't)" thread and then saw this

This reminds me: I (crappily) recorded (crappy) audio from a recent (but amazing) Mountain Goats live show. I've been meaning to share it for a while now.

make it anyway
there's like 3 XXXTentacion threads

Four bonus tracks on the Deluxe edition.
Based on the tags, one of the bonus tracks may be ambient.

>one of the bonus tracks may be ambient
interesting prospect with the musical themes he seems to be exploring here, i'd be into a sort of calypso vibe

The no guitar gimmick seems like it could be interesting

I have thier enitre discography downloaded, I just never got around to listening to it. There is so much and it is not super interesting. I rellly only have really listened to beat the champ. where should I start?

as a purist i always tell people to listen to any artist in chronological order, but realistically, you should start with All Hail West Texas, which is the most accessible album, then proceed to The Sunset Tree, which is widely regarded as the crown jewel of the discography. after that, i would recommend Transcendental Youth, but it will really depend on which aspects of the two albums appealed to you most
