overrated as hell but for some reason people think you have to respect them if you're into the genre??

yeah now that you mention it...

>people think you have to respect them if you're into the genre
only black metal newbies actually think that

What are your 5 favorite black metal bands?

not going to spoonfeed you big babby

the point he's trying to make i think is that any black metal band you'll name has probably been influenced by burzum or mayhem (bathory too obviously) on some level

>Afraid of getting called out for nu-male shit taste
I've spent hundreds on tape trading, you're the fucking fat baby here. Kill yourself.

they look so young, like babies

>implying nu-male black metal isn't artistically and thematically better than traditional black metal

this meme just needs to end

>fat autist getting mad on Sup Forums
Am i really the one who should kill myself at that point?

Then who is Dead?

Big L?

Dead = Pac
Euronymous = Biggie
Varg = Suge Knight

Okay, this seems fair

kek is the biggie and tupac of black metal nubs

They look like good friends, but Varg supposedly always hated him. It was a great misrepresentation that he had killed his "friend and bandmate" -- Varg only filled in for Necrobutcher on one album, anyway.

Varg > Hellhammer > Everyone else in the scene who isn't anyone from Satirycon > Euro

>Hellhammer

kys my man

Snorre >>>>>>> literally everyone else

De Mysteriis would be pretty meh without him.

I don't think Burzum is overrated among metal fans but hipsters worship Burzum for some reason. Makes even less sense considering that hipsters would soil themselves, if they read some of his writings and lyrics or watched his interviews and videos.

Hipsters apparently like this:
>Darkness, hate and winter
>Rules the Earth when I return
>War
>Between races
>A goal is reached

imho hipsters actually listen to burzum for the edgy street cred points

>muh killings
>muh church burnings
>muh controversy

I think it's really just because the album cover has that hipster aesthetic that they like, its kind of reminiscent of ITAOTS and others like it

They like it because its generally the tamest of black metal. They simply can't into Darkthrone and Bathory

>the HQ (hipster question)
>they are all white-european
>they like things that mostly white-european people like
they're actually closer to varg than they know

Plausible.

It's just a different approach. Black metal has always been diverse in terms of music. The two main branches in my opinion are the ambient style of Burzum and punky/thrashy style of Darkthrone. Getting through some of Burzum's ambient stuff is not an easy task for many.
But I guess you're right in some ways. I don't think hipsters will ever accept bands like Impaled Nazarene.

Dragonforce
Seremedy
Nightwish
Evanescence
Ghost

We know about the lyrics, we just accept that like most musicians, Varg is an anus on conceptual/political questions. We listen to him for his sound. How many people do you think became born-again Christians from listening to Johnny Cash? Not. Many. I'd. Wager.

They were, I bet there's slash about them both.

>Bathory
Bathory is way more normie-friendly than burzum imo. It's just that varg story made burzum more famous

Euronymous was a commie piece of shit

"Commie" in this case = "not a cannibal Nazi occultist", I assume.

Burzum's music is ridiculously beautiful and intelligent for the '''''''''ideas''''''''' it's trying to get over. You can love Kate Bush and think Gurdjieff was a conman, so I see no problem with being a 'nu-male cuck' or whatever and liking Burzum.

I mean "for" as "considering". The ideas don't make it beautiful; it is good enough to be worth ignoring the ideas for.

Did Fenriz fuck her?

Varg actually contributes to the genre though, unlike suge

He was actually a member of the communist youth, faggot.

>cannibal Nazi occultist
No such thing

Who is the Kanye West of Black Metal? Hardmode: no Hunter Hunt-Hendrix

...

more like the Pitbull of black metal

I would say otherwise. Other than his first album, its all mostly ambient to the point where the occasional black metal vocals would seem more like an atmospheric effect that comes on every once and a while. Whereas, black metal vocals were constant and in your face with Bathory on top of the face melting riffs which nu male hipsters simply can't into.

More like the faggot of "metal".

Why?
Hellhammer is great, one of the best bands of the first wave.

Hellhammer is just Venom on 33.

holy shit that comparison is spot on

And Venom is a great band too. However, Hellhammer has an entirely different speed and tone from Venom on most of their songs, as well as their unique vocals.

i think he meant hellhammer the person, not hellhammer the band

>Hardmode
Gaahl or Ash.

easy

Nope. Abbath doesn't take anything seriously, especially himself.

>Muh Hellhammer best muh muh
Just fuck off, crybaby. Even Cronos said that Hellhammer were a fucking joke...And fuck Tom G for cashing out on Hellhammer after years of publicly shit talking about the band...

>Not. Many. I'd. Wager.

We all know that the best guys in that scene were Fenriz and Nocturno Culto.

Why? Because they helped other black metal bands across the world.

burzum music is spiritual bathory and mayhem is just edgy rock n roll

t. nu-male cuck

>spiritual
it's called atmoshit

>muh atmosphere
