Yeah, I can kind of see it as the George option in the Marr-Morrissey debate - take a third option that very few people will argue as being a bad option. That said, I still believe he just barely inches out Marr, mostly because the influence he's had on my style of playing the bass.

It's close but my vote goes to Johnny Marr. Regardless, Andy Rourke is incredible, definitely one of my favourite bassists.

I used to listen to them years ago and I realise now that lyrics are cringe and guitars are meh but the drumming, especially on the first album, is god tier
