The sound is pretty boring, and the songs are too slow, and they don't progress enough, they don't escalate anywhere
Your vocals are a bit off on the Human cover.

You are pretty talented though, and I appreciate the great instrumentation, just work on your producer/sound engineer skills and that's all.

good shit:

That's the name
If you search for the keyword in the catalog you won't get results

nice one. cant wait :)

Oh right, sorry

That's some good guitar noodling, on the first track. I didn't really like the lightness of the first track, but i like the classic indie rock sound of the second one. Pretty unique.

wow, distorted piano? Never heard of that before, I thought it was a guitar. Pretty good stuff, could use some vocals. There's a nice instensity to the song, but vocals would easily make it better.

Wow! Very creative, I'm really digging the song "Brown Recluse Spider". I'd say it sounds like early pink floyd and coil, but it really has its own unique feel.

that guitar is so ridiculously out of sync lmao

There's a nice tenderness to these songs, and to your voice. Definitely has potential, just keep putting yourself up there m8.

a bit boring

really good! I wouldn't even call it pop-punk, it's just straight punk. it's so high energy and sincere, the only problem is it kind of sounds like a relic of a previous era, which is kind of off-putting.

There's nice tension to this music, but it's really hard to make out the vocals and the compositions aren't very attention grabbing

Also I may or may not have slipped in a new mix of Dark Eyed People that I like much better, which is probably a pretty amateur move but fuck it this is bandcamp i can do what i want. at least no one has spent money on it or anything.

cool kids club:
Ah I remember you, checking out the live album now. As I'm sure you've heard before you have a very sweet, tender voice that works well for the music you make. The melodies are quite nice too. I'm sure you're aware how this kind of stuff is a bit limited emotionally and how the twee-ish aspects of it all could be grating to some, but you play and sing confidently enough that it does come of as a deliberate creative choice rather than from a lack of ability. I mean I do wish there were more variation in the guitar work, but that's just due to my tastes. Also the idea of playing live scares the shit outta me, so anyone who can sound relatively composed while doing that gets props from me. Nice stuff.

>at least no one has spent money on it or anything

it's weird, it feels kinda like people won't buy your music unless they've seen other people buy it

norong.bandcamp.com/track/bad-dog

Yeah I guess its just the whole "a crowd is the best way to draw a crowd" marketing tactic thing.

I'm just gonna keep mine free for now, that way I can fuck with things as I please without feeling weird about it.

How to start making music when you have no knowledge or ability other than singing?

learn the guitar

1. Learn instrument of choice
2. Fuck that shit
3. Find a producer who would make you shit beats

Advice on motivation? I have troubles keeping myself motivated to do shit.

just think about all the gobs of pussy bandcamp bedroom folk artists get.

It's all up to you
Listen to a lot of music and try to learn some songs you like. That way you can learn the playing style of other musicians.
You should also learn how to use a DAW, mixing and mastering

yeah I feel like you should set it to Pay What You Want, just because you still get a lot of free downloads, but it looks better if you have some "supporters." not saying go tryhard, but it isn't a big deal to just let them pay if they feel like it

I really hate seeing this excuse. for one, get off the computer. that shit is a motivation killer. if you want to start making music, start making music. there isn't an easy button if you want to actually make something worthwhile

I found this artist while randomly browsing the "plunderphonics" tag on BC.

firered.bandcamp.com/

Gosh golly! I just found another amazing artist completely by accident! haha
varsas.bandcamp.com/

sounds like you just have a problem with motivation in general rather than music making

I advise regular exercise

just as good the second time around (i'm sorry i haven't bought it yet maybe on listen #3)

i need recommendations for some BC music thats sad as fuck, mainly looking for songs about lost love but just sad in general is fine. I prefer folk/acoustic but any genre is chill. Thanks

Probably Tylo be Chillin

Nice Trips, and thank you so much. I literally try my absolute hardest to be different and put together a sound that is reminiscent of some style one would know, yet still new (compositionally)

That aside, I love your voice on Tangerine. The guitar, and the cascading drums really tie the sound together. I love the chord progression you had used as well. It's new with a flare of almost post rock, with the vocals, yet the sonic pallet is really inspired by midwest emo.. which is spectacular. I really look forward to more releases by you.

I make YouTube reviews of mainstream and Bandcamp albums. I'm in the process of improving the channel. I've bought a new mic and I'm switching up the format a bit starting with tomorrow's video. Send me your album, as long as it was released this or last month. I still have a few slots open.

Latest Bandcamp album review: youtu.be/cRlklr5c7Zk [Open]

Latest mainstream review: youtu.be/FhrP7Vt3xu4 [Open]

I also started a SoundCloud for the channel with monthly playlists. Every Friday I add my most played song of the week on the playlist.

I follow everyone back, and if you send me a track there is a 100% chance I'll give it a listen: soundcloud.com/mqtomusic

I could send you my album, but it was made in February

What do you know about portable music? The idea is great but there is not enough releases. So, every track on the album was made on the go (no matter if it was a crowdy street or midnight bus, urbanistic cities or deep nature).
Of course, before recording we tried to dig through some obscure places to record the EVP and other wierd stuff to mix it. If you find something unnatural don't be afraid electronic voice is believed to be a myth, digital artifact or a kind of city legends and who knows how real it is. Thanks for listening ;)

There's a lot of reverb on the vocals, I suppose to make it spacier, but there isn't any on the instruments, which I miss. It sounds like the guitars are being played in a different room.
I can't really tell what's the problem, it just lacks something that would make it all sound huge. That is my only complaint though, this is clearly better than most stoner doom bands I've heard here. Amazing music
