What are some good German bands that most people wouldn't know about in North America?
Not stuff like Rammstein or Nena which got/get a lot of radio time here.

If you're into chill hip-hop, I suggest Goldroger. He has two phenomenal albums out.

All G*rmans must perish.

Second this

Dungen too

add Embryo and Guru Guru

Wir sind Helden

AlpenRebellen, if you want the equivalent of modern German country music.

It's both very similar and very different from the kind of country/folk music I grew up. I almost feel like I'm listening to ska, lol.

For reference, this is closer to what a modern country song sounds like out where I grew up.

Einstürzende Neubauten
Xmal Deutschland
Nina Hagen

Listening to NEU! right now. It would make great BGM for movies or something.

all Krautrocks bands

you're not frequent mu visitor, are you?

Nah, spend most of my time over on /k/. I'm working on a German gun right now and figured it'd be appropriate to listen to some German music.

the four horsemen of the krautrock apocalypse

Laibach so you know who Rammstein is ripping it's style from. Einsturzende Neubauten, Can, Amon Duul, the list could go on...

Here is a chart for krautrock albums, all of which were released by German artists. Assuming that you do not often browse Sup Forums I'd recommend giving repeated listens to each album and keeping an open mind.

Find "Friend or Foe" and "Science Fiction"

all the germans here are faggots who post shit nobody listens to. check out rappers like luciano or 187 strassenbande if you want to see the current zeitgeist

Wow, you guys are fucking plebs.
Take some time exploring your own counry's culture for once instead of listening to Sup Forumscore all day.

I recommend
>33 Funk
>Annabelle's Garden
>Anthropophagus II
>Armageddon Endzeitstress
>Art Abscon
>Bohren & der Club of Gore
>City (only one song though: Am Fenster)
>Falkenstein
>Fix8:Sed8
>Forseti
>Hannes Wader
>Haus Arafna
>Hiob
>Illoyal & Bassdeaph
>Inneres Gebirge
>Joachim Witt (only his first two albums)
>Ke/Hil
>Klabautamann
>Nebelung
>Niklas Wandt
>Novemver Növelet
>Prezident

Laibach are from Slovenia.

If you think that is what the zeitgeist listens to you must be pretty poor.

Huh, I guess I'm just too old then. Mid 20s in Berlin and I never met anyone who listens to this.

I've seen huge billboard ads for some album of theirs though.
I checked out some of their videos and they fucking suck.
