AT LEAST the best Post Hardcore record of the 2010s

I'm - you two got my interest, I'll give it a listen, it seems like a pretty good record.

whats the album to the left of Exploded Drawing?
1000% check out Mogwai - Young Team

It's a fantastic record. La Dispute is more about poetry/spoken word, and sounds nothing like your dollar a dozen Post-Hardcore bands these days with the clean to scream dynamic and the glittering vocals.

Also, before going into it, you should know it's a concept album.

It's got two main storylines. There's an author, who's composing letters to friends and family, and at the same time, battling his own personal demons. He explores his own struggles through short stories that he writes, which take the form of several songs on the album.

This is my favorite song on the album. Jordan Dreyer is a FANTASTIC lyricist

youtube.com/watch?v=YEbjhstG1gE

It's a fantastic record, and if you like it, I recommend you listen to Rooms of the House and then their Here, Hear works

Shit, that sounds even better than I thought it'd be. Now I'm VERY interested.

Wildlife is one of my all time favorite albums, but you either love their singers voice, or hate it.

Also, you probably have at least heard the climax to King Park once before.

Enjoy, dude. You're in for a ride

>you probably have at least heard the climax to King Park once before.
CAN I STILL GET INTO HEAVEN

Eidola
Agent Fresco
Eternity Forever
Invalids
The Hirsch Effekt
If Anything Happens to the Cat
Lye by Mistake
The Planet You
Secret Band

b-b-bump, we are still here friendos.

bumb

not all japanese music is weeb music fite me

Holy fuck, it's one hell of an album. The lyricism is great and the way they construct the songs is fucking insane.

Can confirm. I've been listening to it as well since it kept getting rec'd in /phg/

>Mfw the build up in King Park

His voice is fucking on point for that climax as well, you can absolutely hear the desperation

Glad you liked it man!
I'm a big fan of the band's later works. Like I said, you should listen to their newest record, Rooms of the House. It's a little less intense, but still amazing.

Or if you want something quicker, you can just listen to their splits and singles and Here, Hear project

youtube.com/watch?v=fPppInfmpvo
youtube.com/watch?v=1qbk-xo6Zqs
youtube.com/watch?v=Cc0qrLRD33w
youtube.com/watch?v=P-q_2Nk1toQ
youtube.com/watch?v=U0TSPEjpdQs

Tried to organize it by genres.

The Pop Group
This Heat
Phew
Nick Cave

Red House Painters
Eric Dolphy

Dalek
Cannibal Ox
El-P
Bluetile Lounge
Good Morning & Good Night

+Xiu Xiu, clipping, microphones

If you haven't checked out Mount Eerie already, I'd heavily advise it.

Mount Eerie - Wind's Poem, Song Island, No Flashlight
ho99o9 - United States of Horror
clipping - midcity
Uniform - Wake In Fright, Perfect World
Street Sects - End Position

Love your taste op
Don't have any recs to give cause I'm pretty new
Also chart is pretty old

you're probably overweight

>tfw reduced to avant-cuck and pop singles
Wtf is wrong with me?

Reposting since I missed something.
I know that feel, man. Happens more and more as you eventually start listening to music that others are that much more unfamiliar with.
Sir Richard Bishop - Salvador Kali
Moodie Black - Nausea
Basinki's got some cool ideas, man. His music just goes on for way too long.
Tetragrammacide - Typhonian Wormholes: Indecipherable Anti-Structural Formulæ
Susumu Hirasawa - Technique Of Relief
Cool variety of laid back psych sounding stuff.
Menace Ruine - The Die Is Cast
John Frusciante - Niandra Lades And Usually Just A T-Shirt
Is the third row supposed to be some sort of "post-rock", then?
Whores - Gold
Rhys Chathem - Pythagorean Dream
Rock style music, but mostly colorful so I'll give you that. Music To Eat's a great record.
Henry Cow - Praise For Learning
Ornette Coleman's entire Harmolodic Funk run, seriously, start with Dancing In Your Head

i've probably listened to every available Phil Elverum release out there lmao, but i appreciate the taste. I'll check those other albums out too man
I'll try these, i wish i liked hip hop more, truly the 1 giga-pleb thing about me

4th row is post-rock and 3rd is just umbrella experimental rock.

shut up nerd
lmao, you wish ;)

Ooohhhh that makes sense. Fourth row is the only one I didn't notice honestly.

thanks! sorry i missed this, but desu i think most of my stuff is still fairly well known and accessible

is not really interested in sugary foods

you recently figured out what you want from life

you often feel like reading but aren't sure what to read

likes the idea of just packing your things and travelling off without knowing where

enjoyed it, i just wish most of the tracks were a lil shorter. this record came to mind while listening, i think you'll dig it.

the clean - vehicle

another rec i have is the manhattan love suicides - kick it back ep

can i get some recs? been really getting into music for the past half year but theres so much of it i still feel like a newcomer

Nice recents and thanks for the recs.
As far as Basinski goes, Arvo Part-esque banality being looped ad nauseam and cheaply tacked onto to the sentimentality of the 9/11 events which occurred after the recording of the album makes Disintegration Loops fucking unbearable. It's musically inoffensive and thematically offensive.

>sorry i missed this
Nah it's cool, I reposted my chart after the first one came out slightly messed, but this one came out slightly messed up, too. Oh well.
>but desu i think most of my stuff is still fairly well known and accessible
They are well known, but at the same time unless somebody knows their folk or slow/sadcore I can see why peeps would have a tougher time reccing you.

yeah you're right actually, i'm excited to listen to your recs in that case!

my sleep schedule is so fucked

i rec that you go explore rym and last fm. much faster than waiting for recs

lil noid - paranoid funk

melrose - s/t

Лилoвый дeнь

Well, it works for Arvo cuz he usually keeps his pieces relatively short compared to his peers, and it's the actual disintegration of the loops that makes it so good. The 9/11 crap was tacked on long after the music was made. I think it would've worked out better if he recorded the initial loops super slow then played them super fast so the loops would disintegrate that much faster and the thing wouldn't feel over long.
One's a more modern take on American Primitivism, the others hip hop akin to clipping sorta.

FORGOT CHART

Read the fucking wiki weeb it's not that hard.

rateyourmusic.com/release/album/leather_slave/leather_slave/

shit that sounds great, i've not enjoyed much American Prim. apart from Basho short of a couple Ackerman tracks but i would deffo like to explore

...

OH MY! Have we found pop's real chart this whole time? Or is the second person just shitposting?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Chad VanGaalen - Diaper Island

avey tare - Eucalyptus

kaleidoscope - tangerine dream

river empire - epilogue

would appreciate recommendacions

5.0's end at Radio Amor, rest is a mess of all my 4.5's and a few 4.0's

hey this melrose thing is cool dude!!! thank u, hope you sort your sleeping pattern out

i feel like someone could appropriately recommend you any 3.5/5+ indie rock album

listen to more sam ray projects

queens of the stone age make me want to kill myself in a bad way but uhhhh listen to Dalek (Absence or Filthy Tongues) and Lil Ugly Mane (Uneven Compromise or Oblivion Access are good launchpads into longer releases)

you like a lot of Important Albums that I don't give a shit about, so you'd probably love Pet Sounds

I don't have anything to add immediately, but we have very similar taste

don't kill yourself user, there's so much more you will do. Also you might appreciate the canon Wilco albums (everything 97-05). You seem to have a very narrow taste, not meaning that as diminutive.

hate your taste quite a bit, seems like you give things a lot of credit for innovation

+1 for that Seam record, also in my 4.0s. Try the vocalist/songwriter/bassist's other project Ee. I think their best album is Ramadan.

try more music from after 2005

surprised there's no Capn Jazz here

you'd probably appreciate Flood by Boris

>hate your taste quite a bit, seems like you give things a lot of credit for innovation
What?

thanks bud

heard it, thanks though

i've heard all of sam rays projects except mad dads. is it worth?

no problem my dude

a lot of your choice albums are not very enjoyable listening in my experience and are (instead) lauded for importance in contributing to the development of styles of music

not that you can't enjoy listening to liturgy or sophie or the mars volta or soul coughing or captain beefheart but I... don't, and I think that's pretty regular

jane doe in your top 10 without a lot of metal overall (or virgins and ambient) is representative of what i'm talking about

this is bait

>jane doe in your top 10 without a lot of metal overall
?????????????????
Half my chart is metal. What the fuck?
I hope so.

(f)irst time posting chart. Please be nice. Also give me heavy reccs please.

...

You like it when the guitar chugs a lot. Listen to the Red Chord and car bomb

y-you guys are alright

Reccs please, thought i didnt like fleet foxes, its on there but it was shit

>hype williams
>warm thighs
>no trend
>midori
>delroy
>heat wave
>oval
>today is the day
>shinsei kamattechan
Whoa

Nice taste user

I () like your taste too

reversible cords - s/t

al-90 - code-915913

This is a BAD chart, good job user :>
