thanks and well, i don't know really

this alias i have is a free space that i have to just put up music that i do by myself

nothing serious so far obviously, but i like composing ambient textures

I think you do a great job with that, I wasn't a fan of the louder tracks but that might just be a personal preference. I think if you found a way to really reconcile both the ambient stuff and the kinda more abrasive stuff that'd be really cool

Alright. Let's get them started!

>Loop-based ambient music

That's one of the better whining, I tell ya. Although I still prefer "Eastridge".

Heard "Rojas" and "72". There are some good fundamentals but holy crap does your tracks goes wanky fast. The "drum kick" on "Rojas" is just disorientating and the lead around 1:20 on "72" is mixed terribly; it feels like it's just been added there out of filling space. I've sadly heard better things on SC threads. Main concern - expand your fundamentals and work around making your mixing skills better. Both of the tracks I've heard feel in-cohesive to each other at all. I'm fairly disappointed.

Definitely preferred more "ambient" tracks (i.e. 1 and 3). The second one, especially the beat, are annoyingly generic. I would avoid that kind of drum inclusion if you want to go more post-rock-ish. Mainly because they don't add anything and they disturb the space of a solid texture in front of it. I could see this work and, since it's only ideas, I wish you the best in perfecting what you have in mind. Making stuff is not the hard part. The hard part is finding your own voice in all of this mess.
Oh, and "In Focus" is NOT a good track. At all. It feels washed down to the extreme.

As you always do. You gain any revenue from those?

i'm not really good at equalizing lol and also reminiscence was an "alternative" beat that i made for a rapper, i think it doesn't really fit the ep but i personally like the end of it

btw your stuff is really cute

i'll look forward to concile this stuff, it's something that i'd love to do

still sosia here, i bookmarked your bc page, it's really interesting and also thanks for your comment!

Danke, I hope you'll enjoy it!

i will not pass you any butter because please lower your hat? the waves went well with the music should have brought them in sooner?
agree with aer that track two is some whiplash inducing shit (that i am a hypocrite for caring about) also are the leads supposed to fall out of time?

dat colour scheme.
second track starting out gnarly as all heck and that text to speech! i giggle but you made it sound pretty good. also my cat is now purring in time to this and it's pretty eerie, the small mic drop/jack sound that's going on through the calm part held everything together really nicely.

I have no mouth and I must kek.

Sorry mate, I've really, REALLY tried.

recc:

How do i make a good album cover?

A SHITTY GUIDE TO COVER ART

1. Define what sounds you are trying to portrait on the particular release
2. What is the most important theme of the album? What's the story to it?
3. If
a) it's just a bag of songs with no thematic correlations - make/find an aesthetically pleasing thingy which grabs attention and use the colors on it which gives a strong resemblance of the release's sound (warm colors for happy, cold colors for sad etc.)
b) there is a theme to the release - think of an image which would represent the best the idea of the release and use it

Avoid Paint and making your own covers without any knowledge of graphics design. A simple photography/painting/picture manipulations would do.
Also, it's good to know, in general, to look at your fav albums and ask yourself why such cover exist on that particular release and is there a better/worse example of a cover which would fit that album.

It's all try and error. But avoid Paint like a fucking plague.

>paint is lame
you have a modern normie alt dads taste

>not posting a good paint-made cover art

I may. But I'm quite happy with my covers in general.

Thanks for this advice now i just have to find the right colors for it.

thank you, me and the girl who did eastridge are trying to flesh out a full album and release it, also why is your project ending?

RECC:

>me and the girl who did eastridge are trying to flesh out a full album and release it
Yes. That's what I like to hear.

>why is your project ending?
Basically I've started to get too emotional about it. Making music for Epiglottis was just way too much self-hate and too little enjoyment when the release was out. Gonna try and make myself in a new thing, probably in the next year; getting myself cracking on new stuff, composing things and getting myself more into modern classical music

damn dude well I'm glad to hear you're still doing stuff and that you'll be feeling better. modern classical would be sick, i'd love to hear that when it's done

I'm not a biggest fan of the tones as they sound a bit generic and small. The glitch is okay but it's nothing I'd listen to

This is really well made ambient, not problems with it keep it up

This is good I love the mix a lot I don't know what you did to it but it's a great mix I love it a lot

RECC
really unique song structures and super interesting sounds
favorite of the thread so far!! love everything about it

These track titles are way too big-ish. At least to me anyway. When I've read "repetitive electronic music" I did not expect much of a chill-out sweet sounds and that's basically what I've got. Although I do feel like the whole mixing is pretty okay I think these tracks doesn't go out much beside their standards. There is little to no experimentation which makes this whole thing quite cookie-cutter music which is a bit disappointing. The last track's noisy synth is, I think, a bit too loud-ish and not exceptionally good of an addition.
Overall - not terrible but I think you can do better than just be another electronic music maker making chillwave or whatever in a cookie-cutter way.

>acousmonium
Fuck. Yes. Senpai.
Also, thanks for listening, appriciate it!

new egghead song up tonight I think lads be excited its

VERY GOOD

me

I am very about the new project, your production is A1 and it's just some straight forward good shit, I really like 2:34am and text me back
and thank you, for the mix I just went pretty bare bones, put another vocal two octaves up which distorts a little and threw it in the back, and filtered it a bit to add resonance and a little more lo fi sound

thank you for the kind words, and this is very College like and very upbeat. I''m not so much a fan of the vinyl sample and the extra percussion on i haven't been born into this world but I like the 2nd section of scared of hot and cold a lot, real nice instrumentation and melody you got going there. I think is giving you some solid advice also

had a pretty good time making this and hopefully you have a pretty good time listening. I mostly tried to combine japanese city pop with 70s softrock, as well as my own eccentricities

Hey!! I also live in toronto, and I've been to a lot of shows/hung out sometimes at the supermarket! I wonder if we ever ran into each other while eating overpriced food. It sucks that you didn't get paid though. Your vocals are really pure sounding and well done. I'd say the recording job was good, but I guess you didn't have much control over that. I'm enjoying your direct, yet emotional lyrics. Definitely I'd say lyrics and vocals are the strongest points of this. The weaker point here is definitely the songwriting. You tend to get a chord progression that fits the vibe of your song and then you just stick with those 2/3/4 chords for the entirety of the song. There's strong melodies, I just wish maybe you could go for a B section in your music or something. a chorus/verse thing maybe? Maybe put a bridge in. You show a little bit of that in Why. I really like that song. If you can get that down, you'll have some solid solo folksy stuff, which you could even dress up with bigger production if you want.

Really enjoy the drum programming here. I'd say that's your strongest point. There's a lot of great subtle developments in the drums, which keeps these tracks fresh throughout. I can see what you're going for with the synths, and sometimes they hit the mark. Often though they fall short. I think a lot of it could be solved by tweaking around the attack/decay settings because sometimes it sounds like you just went with the defaults. The last song is definitely the most developed and I can tell that some of these are probably older than others. Also the stuff other than the drums is occasionally too simplistic.

what in the fuck is going on here

This shit is fucking amazing. It's like a less ambient eraserhead soundtrack.
