Hello Sup Forums, any dog owners/vets here? im fucking desperate...
My dogs teeth are fucked up (pic related) and i didnt notice this since lately when he kept his tail down often and started to smell. Other than that he didnt really change he still eats and seems to be happy and waves his tail at times.
I will go the vet in two days but i feel hes in pain, is there any way to help him out except killing him or knocking him out? :(
Have you tried poking at it or using an ice cube to test for sensitivity?

its teeth look pretty bad user. just make sure you give it soft foods and treats. there are OTC medications that you can give your dog in terms of painkillers( i don't remember specifics). some are poisonous or bad for them though.

That's gum disease user. You gotta take him to the vet and get those teeth yanked and get some antibiotics. If any of those teeth get infected it could lead to a fever and then death.

Take your doggo to the vet immediately. It looks like necrosis and it might be all the ay into the jaw bone. Your dog wagging his tail while eating might be a sign the pain receptors are dead and he's feeling toxicity from blood infection.
Try to keep his food soft I’m sorry to say that I believe your dog will need some teeth pulled if most likely for the best if you don’t want him to be in pain

You can crush up some aspirin into his food for a little bit of pain relief. If you have access to cannabis oil or edibles a little of that is fine for them too for pain and inflammation.
At first that seems like a heavy tartar build. Then again, the fact that he's in pain is kinda weird, and I'm not sure if I'm looking at necrotized tissue in the gums. Could be an ongoing infection, see your vet asap. Can't do much for the pain, hopefully it's just tartar.

i lightly pressed an ice cube on his gums and he didnt flinch or anything, he also didnt fight. now i dont know he has a lot of trust in me.
I also used toothpick and poked his gums and teeth and he showed little to no reaction until i started to move one tooth which is very loose

We put aspirin in their food at the recommendation of the vet and in low doses is safe for pain and inflammation and it's perfectly safe. Also you don't know if it's a blood infection so stop talking out of your ass you little bitch. It won't cure anything but it's fine for pain management until it sees a vet.

If you really want to give him pain releif give him a NSAID that you deem to be appropriate (i have a medical degree and would not know what otc pain med would be good or not) if anything just let him be and allow the specialist to make decisions. You could put a bit of alcohol on it (drinking alcohol, the ones for cleaning wounds have toxins to avoid abuse) best of luck user, if yoy have further questions then ask but know im not a vet but i know medical knowledge.

My dog was in the same situation a few months ago and needed 10 teeth pulled. Just feed him soft foods and give him lots of pats, be gentle when touching his mouth. Theres not a lot you can give to him at the moment for the pain. He should be okay for a few days though.
If you have an appointment, wait for that.
Don't try any DIY and don't EVER give your animal any medication without consulting your vet as some medication humans use will outright kill dogs, or destroy their livers.

if you cant get to a vet you NEED to remove the teeth. the dog being this old, every minute you delay puts the dogs life in danger.

Probable case: removal of teeth and bone via surgery
Worst case: Xrays show damage is to extensive and recommendation to put to sleep.
What will actually happen is your vet will want to run blood tests, xrays and cultures. Will want to remove teeth. When removing teeth will say there is damage to bone will need surgery. During surgery will find the damage is to bad and will have to be put to sleep. Then you get a 3,500 dollar vet bill.

don't worry, if needed the teeth will be removed and that shit too. but just dont take it seriously that common. I've lost my 14 years old dog 2 months ago, an older one 3 years ago, but luckly they have 5 childs, still own 3, a blind one, an almost deaf and a good health. I'd do anything for the blind one but meh, cornea operation cost a lot and may not even help her.
Remember this, if you loved your dog and feed him, you should not say you was too stupid to take care of him. i know dogs that live outside and drink their own piss for a living... wish i could adopt them but i can't < and that is by far way worse than your "too stupid to take good care"

yeah just don't worry. dogs are our friends, they know it. a simple "hey user" are heart warming for them as hell.
