I'm a cell phone repair technician that only works on Samsung, HTC, Sony, LG, Google (nexus), and Nokia. I also do a bit of PC repairing along with older iPhones (6 and below). Ask me anything!

Whats the weirdest thing You Found in these devices?

I don't look through the photos or anything but I have seen some pornographic background and lock screen images.

I have 2 unread texts, but all my texts have been opened
How do I remedy this

is it currently possible ( with Android oreo update ) to change the display resolution on the LG G6 so it uses less battery?

thinking of buying that one soon if it'll last long enough on a charge.

That's weird. Have you tried restarting your phone? The only other suggestion I have is to delete all your messages but you probably don't want to do that.

I'm not sure about the LG G6, but on Samsung phones, you can change the resolution. I'm guessing it's the same throughout all android devices so I would say yes, you can. A quick google search would confirm or deny this.

Idc about my texts. But I've already tried that. It doesn't fix it.
I figured I could ask you but its not really a huge deal. Just an ocd kinda thing.
Thank you, b/rother

No problem. If it's really bothering you, I'm sure you could bring it to your cell provider and they could fix it.

I have an iPhone 5, very reliable for almost 6 years now.
A few days ago though, it started saying "searching" in the top left corner. I've tried removingSIM, reset phone, airplane mode, do not disturb. Everything the internet suggested. So I tried putting a brand new SIM card in and still says "searching"
Is my SIM card reader broken?

Also when I try to update my phone to 10.3.3 as the internet suggested that might also be the problem, I get an "This update can not be installed at this time try again later" message

Have you tried updating your software? I don't know too much about iOS, but you could probably bring it to your service provider and they will fix it for you unless it's a hardware issue.

How much self-shot CP do you find on kids' phones?

sounds like liquid damage to your main board, youd have to open it up to check.

I have an lg g6 and its battery life is fucking insane
If you want more battery life, engage battery saver mode. Easy shit.
Love this phone. Fast, long battery life, decent pictures, has a capture button to screenshot snaps w out alerting anyone. Its a dream

That could be it, I dropped it in my bathtub and the screen went out, the day after getting screen repaired this problem occurred. Thanks b/rethren

It could also be a disconnected connector which would be a result from dropping the phone. That would make it a simple fix.

Nevermind it's definitely water damage.

Cracked my iphone 5s screen pretty badly today in work. Can I get the screen changed in repair store?

Yes. It should be pretty cheap too.

Bump

Its fucked. take it back to whoever did the screen replacement, they should not have replaced it, so see if they'll take their screen back and cut you a deal or refund you. it was certainly obvious to them that the board was corroded. Corrosion just spreads, there is nothing that can be done to fix it. some shops will put the board through an ultrasonic cleaner and then try to fix shorts and replace destroyed components, but that is a ton of work and the success rate is low ( often it will only work again for a short time). the problem is that liquid (and then corrosion) gets underneath the chips etc and the phone is just fucked.

Is it difficult for a noob to replace the battery and LCD of a HTC One m8
