conversely, if you read/write sentences in the language, then you have to memorise hiragana, katakana, and kanji.
especially, as for kanji, not less than 2100 characters have been used.
on the top of that, its grammar is very different from English, so you may end up giving up halfway through unless you are motivated to learn it some extent.

if you are interested in Japan or something written in Japanese such as Japanese literature and comics(manga) or want to watch anime without subtitles, I will say yes.
