I took a semester abroad in college, and my European professor spoke the entire fucking semester this way. She exclusively lectured in academic jargon and pointless fucking academic buzzwords. I don't know if this is the standard for Europe, but at my university, the lectures were two and half hours long.

Listening to this pretentious old bag lecture in that ridiculously affected speaking style for 7 hours a week made me want to kill myself daily.

It was a film class. One of the questions for a seminar she assigned was "What is the difference between a movie and a film?" I wish I could make this shit up. Thinking about all the Sup Forums memery on the rankings of Kino > Cinema > Film > Movies > Flicks was the only way I could get through that fucking nonsense.

Matrix is actually really interesting because it refers to the use of matrices for storing data and doing calculations on a computer and the fact that a matrix is a set of boxes that contain numbers, they are trapped, in the same way people in the matrix are trapped.
