/daily/ - Rare Canadian Land Lobster Edition

The point of these threads is to encourage people to look for new and interesting music. We do this by listening to and ideally discussing albums we've never heard before. Many of us already listen to new music daily, these people are in it to venture "out of their comfort zone" by listening to albums they otherwise wouldn't have, or just to have a good time.

For the boys

i didnt comment on these posts last thread but i think it's fantastic

What are the middle appendages? Dual penii? Arms? Legs? Whiskers?

that's a shitty mascot

Draw us a better one.

i did that years ago

what's its name?

I don't think any /daily/ users are capable of growing a beard.

jorngel

that's jim o's newfag

He should be wearing a green sweater over the owl sweater, then. It'll be double ironic, like most /daily/ shitposts.

he should have hp baxxter's hair since haino isnt that big of a meme anymore

And something Nicolas Collins related

crunch you freaking freckle fart baby... give me rec

Nick Drake - Bryter Layter

Molly Drake - s/t

Drake Bell - I Found a Way

Drake - Nothing Was the Same

Bob Drake - Arx Pilosa

Drake - Legenda
it's sea shanties from Poland

stop right there, criminal scum

What do you have against sea shanties and/or Poland?

jimmy jazz hates poland more than anything in the world

jokes on you, I got a nice scraggly autismo neckbeard going on atm

Couldn't find a full copy of the other album so I just added this one for today instead.

It started out with a bunch of fart noises, which made me nervous that it would be crap. It ended up being a bunch of ostinato plus flourishes, with a few cooler outliers. A few tracks totally sucked. (Inocular Part 1, for example, was pure boredom)

Skik was a highlight. Its had more of a focus on melody, which sometimes got eaten by the production but was nicer than the rest overall.

Meh.

Did too many Polish people move to his country or something?

>hit 60 instead of 50
Welp, can't go back now. I guess my fingers enjoyed the album more than my ears.

Heck!

exactly, too many poles around, can't have that

I love 2 many DJ's, but I need more underground shit like this. gimme some recs if possible

I swear I've been cucked like this more times in the last week than all other times combined.

>Tfw stuck at Kosciuszko foundation gala event
Can relate to this feeling all to well

They had a shitty polish vocal group beat box chopin

wtf it's actually not bad
this production is something else

>beat box chopin
gaAH

jimmy jazz, to answer your question I guess anything between 30-90 minutes, the rym to check if I've listened to it is ~huit
waiting for yvec, idk if he's alive

he's alive...

hmm guess ill go with Roy Montgomery - And Now the Rain Sounds Like Life Is Falling Down Through It

>I score out of 100

out of my thread >:{

but they're right

i rate this post 11 out of 111

Is that Wojak a hammerhead shark or a snail?

He just hates pierogies, kielbasa, lazanki, makowiec, ziemniaczane...

link me your backlog again
unless you haven't listened to Nick Drake Bryter Layter
if that's the case, Nick Drake Bryter Layter

Lurk moar, I bet you don't even know who Carsnu is

Please rec me some good Jewish music. I don't want the entire column to be just Tzadik stuff.

Where's Kwanzaa?

Ehud Banai - אהוד בנאי והפליטים

My favorite vocal performance of all time is Catherine Ribeiro on the album "Ame Debout". It has such a wide variety of creative dynamics and power, it's really a treat to experience.
youtube.com/watch?v=mHdAKbjh-8c

Kazuki Tomokawa is another fav, also a vocalist that is unyieldingly creative with his performances. Jorge Ben also comes close.

Bobby McFerrin is also among my favorites. I love how he sounds in every register, and I can't name another singer that is as precise as he is.

His music can get a bit cheesy, but when he does solo stuff it really is wonderful.

Good day /daily/!

Norman Westberg has a new CD out if anyone is interested. It’s ambient guitar again.

I’m in Northwest Poland and it’s boring out here.

Listening to the new Prurient thing and it’s not bad.

Hi /daily/, can any of you recommend me some good drone? Huge fan of pic rel because of the comfy and warm atmosphere it creates, so perhaps something with field recordings? Open to anything though, really.

Maybe this question doesn't really belong in a /daily/ thread, but I trust you guys' taste a lot more than Sup Forums's in general.

Kate Carr - The Story Surrounds us

black

Black in the morning. Espresso/cafe au lait/cold brew in the afternoon

this p4k article (pitchfork.com/features/rising/mike-is-ushering-in-a-new-generation-of-new-york-city-rap/) actually turned me on to this guy n it turns out he's quite good

his new album is one of the best hippities of the year

mikelikesrap.bandcamp.com/album/may-god-bless-your-hustle

pretty baseline for that kinda gypsy/celtic/cabaret folk punk, doesn't do anything the pogues, flogging molly, the world/inferno friendship society, gogol brodello etc etc don't do. the polka, irish and balkan folk sounds totally blend together. well i like the style anyways, low-ish 3/5 or high 2

does the new prurient have less screaming?

Hey guys, where should I start with my new chart?

Nice color coding
Converge

Cracow Klezmer Band - De Profundis

Cluster - Cluster 71
[1971]

The "krautrock" tag feels out of place here, but I understand the confusion in trying to catalogue this. Lonely, cold sounds meandering into space with no direction. It's very detached from humanity, which I always appreciate in works like this: the track titles are literally just the duration of the track, the music doesn't belong to any specific place, and the instruments are so processed you can't understand what's electronic and what's being physically played.
I listened to this while drawing Belka and Strelka, the two ussr dogs that got sent into space then back, it was pretty fitting. I also recommend to play this very loud.

6

Practically none. It’s wonderful

any specific theme?
ooh good. FNF was fun, but i couldn't take much more of it.

turnstile - nonstop feeling
code orange - forever

This one is a slow-burning set of noise drones

this year is gettin good right at the end

nah just rec whatever, there's just a lot of punk ones I've put in myself

BLACK SABBATH

just listened to Iгop Цимбpoвcький - Przyjdź aniele. that was really good, even tho i couldn't understand the lyrics.
