I JUST FUCKED YO BITCH IN SUM GUCCI FLIP-FLOPS

I feel like these have had enough time to basically already be canonized by this point. What's more interesting is to speculate which albums from the last few years will stand the test of time, and be representative of the contemporary musical movement.
>few years
I'm talking a century from now at least. Being popular for 20 years is not enough to be a classic
...
I tried so hard to get into that album, but I just couldn't.
100% agree.
Here's my guess for a modern album that'll be viewed as a classic by future generations.
shut your fucking mouth
something by him if not this
GKMC was good and is probably a classic. Peak Kendrick imo, don't let his new shit get in the way
Yeah, I was thinking that but I couldn't narrow it down to one album, because all three of his big releases have been incredibly well received.
...
> Their new album.
to be honest yeah for better and worse
>considered classics in the future
>released in 1999
Already on its way then!
GKMC was his first and last classic

thats an unrealistic metric, most albums that are considered classics, both on this board and in the general public consciousness, are not more than 100 years old and rarely are even more than 60 years old
DAMN is so god damn boring, and has loyalty, love and xxx it can't be a classic.

fucking awful albums

GKMC
Too obscure and definitely not classic worthy
No
Yes
Agreed
You are simply wrong good sir, Blank Banshee 0 is a bonafide cult classic.
>albums
>relevant in the future
is this modern enough
This album is god awful. I really like Cudi but only MOTM 1 and 2 were good imo. Only song I bumped was Confused
what a cheap ass robert smith rip off

Something by them anyway

almost at the same level of SILY
Numb & getting colder Is GOAT
one of my favorites electronic albums of last year.
these are already in that level. pick something more recent
absolutely
these are the right choices. recent albums that are not already canonized that will be in 10 years
Sadly not many people agree
...
...
Too much filler imo. The Fame Monster is a classic for sure though.
Is this a classic yet?

>Modern albums that will be considered classics by future generations
by normie standards, there is only one correct answer in here, and it was the 21 pilots poster. maybe gorillaz, but the s/t is still a better and more significant release.
maybe to pimp a butterfly too.
100% this
except
>albums
>relevant in the mainstream now

science fiction
In 20 year’s yes it will be
i agree, except remove the one track he added just so it could be played on the radio
such a dire addition to the album and smashes the whole atmosphere sideways
+ Homework
Lol what? Where is this not already considered a classic?
>Doesn’t understand humor
...
ask Sup Forums
Agreed, it's way more influential that Sup Forums gives it credit - definitely a classic.
Gonna have to disagree here, this album was good but wasn't as defining as the pre-album releases. Both Jamie xx and Bicep didn't live up to the pre-album hype that was pretty high.
>Bish Bosch/Tilt - Scott Walker
>Gloss Drop - Battles
>IV - BadBadNotGood
>Atrocity Exhibition - Danny Brown
>Sunbather - Deafheaven
>Exmillitary - Death Grips (unironically)
>Cosmogramma - Flying lotus
>Piñata - Madlib, Freddie Gibbs
>Far Side Virtual (and most early vaporwave, Ecojams vol.1/Replica) - James Ferraro
>The OOZ - King krule
(I don't think its good, but still. It is the foundation for ambient jazz lo fi electronica)
>To Pimp A Butterfly - Kendrick Lamar
>Ultimate Care II - Matmos
>So the Flies don't Come - Milo
>Pretty much all of the PC music label
>Forget - Xiu Xiu
>picking his most forgettable album
The only songs I even liked were humble and DNA
You unironically don't get it. Have you even listened to DS2? It's a stunning portrait of a desperate man trapped in an endless cycle of drugs and hedonism. The production is madness, consisting predominantly of abrasive synths that wash everything from your brain until all that's left is a spotless metallic sheen.
Already is.
The Money Store is Death Grips' classic album honestly. It's not even my favorite but I think it'll go down as their most influential release.
