I know Disney doesn't have the guts to do this, but it would sure make me forgive the character Rey so much because it would make sense for her to go to the dark side considering how powerful she is.
If Disney decide to just make her defeat Kylo or bring Kylo to the light and then defeat Snoke and she is hailed as a princess Jedi of the galaxy... I will be surely pissed.

they're afraid to give flaws to people they consider minorities.
Which is why for most part the best minority actors seek out roles with flaws. See Denzel's movies where he always has one hard flaw that is clearly visible.
Minority character actors seek this out which is why they excel despite the agenda and not because of it.
this is marvel and disney as a whole problem. They're afraid of flaws, seek out generic things, sometimes characters have flaws, but not often enough and it is also the reason it comes off as 'same-y'
They have a proven formula and that is better for making money than trying different things.
They will ape the OT arcs with their remake/spiritual successor trilogy and same reason you have Adam Driver telling the truth that episode 8 is ESB 2.0
Problem is they deviated from ANH that she already seems overpowered and despite what waifuists think, it is fairly common to be annoyed at perfect characters. It comes off as unreal which is why they're so keen to defend against it to point of interviewers bringing it up every time with Daisy.
