Not bad at all
liking this oculus one. it feels like a meshing of led zeppelin with some atmospheric shoegaze and sludge metal

Check out my friends music. Dudes a very talented singer!
it reminds me of the wii weather forecast channel music with some light 808s over it
its cool. i personally would like it more if it had some lo-fi sludginess to it. a little vinyl scratch ambience, synths that slightly detune from time to time, maybe a few self-recorded percussion samples here and there, maybe some slightly jaydilla-esque "off" grooves. give it a little bit of a sloppiness, make it feel a little more organic and human, yaknow.

made a chill lofi-ish song except i put effort into it
(jkjk lofi is dope)
holy shit. those rhythms are crazy. this shits cool, but i kinda wish i could hear those ambient synth chords a little more
In a band with some friends, was going really well but now im scared my life will amount to nothing and I cant even tell if it's good music anymore

NEW SONG
this is the non-gzizpy version tell me which one you like better?
and yeah i'll work on adding more stretches with ambience

recs
hmmm. what exactly is the difference? lol. the non-gzizpy one seems a little smoother and less abrasive; i think i like that one a little better, because the fucky rhythms are cool but a little ear-scratching in the other one.
soundcloud.com
>also Idm/brainglitch/Ambient
it was mastered differently.... and yeah that's what i thought, my ears are alittle damaged from years of concert going so its hard for me too distinguish abrasiveness at times.
also i make all the covert art ;)

hahaha i can definitely understand that. yea id go with the slightly more gentle mastering. did you use LANDR, or send it out to someone? (or do it yourself???)
check me out if you get a chance btw
i do it myself. LANDR is garbage as far as im concerned because it uses the same algorithm for everything... which is stupid. and yeah i agree, some of my shit gets squashed up to the max... but i kind of like it depending on how im feeling
Awwheather is tight, super textured and atmospheric. but holy shit i wish the drums/bass were crunchier and the whole thing was louder. this is the kind of boomy vibing music that has to be big and powerful, and the way it sounds now is so gentle and flimsy.
not something to brag about ;)
LANDR is nice just to get a vague idea of what your song might sound like when its "louder," but yea when planning to make an official release of something you gotta have the human touch. thats the whole point of mastering anyways.
why not? you don't like it?
not him, but man that was dickish
i love it
fuck this guy
thanks for the advise
for sure dude. you got followed on bandcamp btw.
check me out if you get a chance

that was really cool has a juke garage feel to it. Love the evolution in the arrangement. What vst do you use.
yea definitely. Probably cheaper and easier simply to toss a Comp+EQ to mast.
Thanks :). Pic related
thanks man. i use Logic Pro X, but in terms of the sounds themselves i actually create everything using samples, even the synthesizers. some are self-recorded samples, like whistling a note and looping it, some are "stolen" from other songs, like 3:03 in this song youtube.com
awesome thats probably why the track has such a natural sound to it.
its a lot of fun! its always an interesting challenge to see how you can make new samples work in the song youre making.
is that album on your bandcamp mastered?

maybe i'm just upset because no one likes my track ;_;
hahaha New Maps is cool compositionally. but you really gotta turn down your voice in final mix, and make some of the guitar/synth riffs a little less trebly i think.
where it at
that works perfectly. i hate my voice!

lo-fi acoustic stuff
it's not great but im slowly getting better :)
your voice sounds awesome, but its just blaring and pushing all the cool stuff around it out of the way.
nah, that's fine, m8. i'll just try harder starting tomorrow
Uploaded some new shit recently and been trying to find my own style and sound, so i'm looking for feedback on the production and mixing, because I've been using more compression and i'm not sure how it's turning out.

all feedback returned, new tracks all through jan
[was just making a joke, not fishing for compliments BUT thank you!!]
i think i overemphasized the vocals in the mix cause they were the final part recorded. will be mixed more into the music as one of the instruments on album/whatever version.
soundcloud.com
I made this 6 months ago and haven't had the drive to make anything since. I like how it came out for the most part, but I feel like every song is kind of repetitive. Just wondering if anyone else thinks it doesn't sound like complete shit.
P.S. I'm really bad at mixing and mastering.
