How do professional teams share an arena?

The new arena in Detroit will hold the Pistons and the Redwings. Sometimes they play on the same night, so how do they make it work? Will one team just play on a different floor?

Multiball

Bulls and Blackhawks play in the same stadium. If they play on the same night, one team will be on the road and another will be at home.

They lay down the hardwood over the ice for hoops, then pull it up for hockey.

Forgot my pic

they don't play on the same night in the same arena. people who make more money than you work with both leagues and they ensure the schedule will make sure they don't

well since it's Detroit one team will shoot the other

Why did the Pistons move away from The Palace anyways?

The basketball court goes over the ice. The Milwaukee Admirals, Wave (indoor soccer), and Bucks have been using the same arena

arena was getting old
low attendance
located in a far suburb of detroit

>(((people)))

Its also a strategy they are using to help Detroit. Right now their focus is on building up downtown and if all goes well, expanding throughout the city. Detroit has actually gotten a lot nice since getting their first white mayor in over 50 years and a Republican Governor.

LA's Staples Center is being shared by the Lakers and the Clippers.
The cloppers just blocks the Lakers championship banners and Taylor Swift's with clopper's selfies. Just like bollywood movie poster selfies.
Very classy.

They schedule the games to make it work
Many teams do this

>(((one))) division title is all your team has accomplished in 30 years
Why even live?

The rinks/courts all come apart kind of like giant lego, they're just taken down and put back up each night. Sometimes the basketball courts are installed right over the frozen ice

>Detroit has actually gotten a lot nice since getting their first white mayor in over 50 years and a Republican Governor.

DAS RASIS

No they don't play on the same night, do you not live in a real city? Do you not know how this works?

Any city with more than two teams deals with issues like this.

I live in LA County, if there are 2 LA teams sharing Staples Center on the same day, it's usually a weekend. What they do is they schedule one game for a matinee at 12 or 1. After the Matinee game is over, they have to change out the court/rink for the next game that night which is usually around the 6-7:30 time slot.

Cloppers are fucking pathetic
The Lakers are in their worst years ever and they're STILL more popular than the cloppers. Just get it over with and move them to Seattle already

Inter and AC do this in Italy, they just never schedule home games at the same time.

They also do the scheduling here for Liverpool and Everton since Anfield and Goodison Park are something like half a mile apart.

>detroit is a total poor shithole
>little caesers, pizza for poor people, sponsors their arena

really makes me think

scheduling is a sport

Mike Illitch who owned the Tigers and Redwings before he died was also the founder of Little Cesars
