the banana album. how is this even a question?

The doors by so fucking far

imagine having this opinion

TVU&N
Doors is good too though

the doors, only because I'm a hot blooded male

The Doors, but strange days is better than both of them

...

both truly are great but the velvets made a true masterpiece

I hate Jim Morrison so, The Velvet Underground by far.

What did he do besides be kind of pretentious?

TVUAN and The Doors aren’t really comparable in terms of sound. They just share the same “cool cat” aesthetic. In terms of overall historical and cultural significance, they’re easily in the same tier.

Every TVU album is better than every Doors album.

Terrible opinion

velvets are plenty hot blooded, just in a darker and less masculine way

Irrational hatred of complete strangers is so hot right now.

The Doors win by a longshot

>the velvets

TVU all the way

Emperically incorrect desu

Worst opinion

reminder that lou reed was a hack that didn't know how to sing

These were two of my favorite albums in high school. The Doors were my favorite band for almost a year or so there, and I still enjoy their music from time to time.
But The Velvet Underground has stuck with me over the years. I'm a few months away from my twentieth reunion, and The Velvet Underground is still one of my favorite bands. This is one of my favorite albums. There's a lot going on in that record. I've listened to it hundreds of times, easily, and yet I still feel like I'm discovering new stuff about it.
Now, "The End" might be the best song on either of these albums, but even then I'm not sure that it tops "Venus in Furs" or "Black Angel Death Song".
I appreciate The Doors, but The Velvet Underground are simply one of the greatest bands ever to make music. This isn't even a close call.

There is no debate. VU beats the Doors any day of the week.

I like both equally.

squeeze sucks dude

the doors s/t has a lot more weak songs
where TVU&N only has all tomorrows parties

Velvet Underground

The Doors were a shitty band no one cared about ever.

Gay voice

The Doors is the only major dadrock band I can’t stand, they literally bore me to tears. I can understand why they got popular and appreciate hoe they were all talented, but fuck, is listening to them tedious

Your dad cared about them sonny

>implying The Doors were capable of writing a song like Venus in Furs

also, European Son is just proto-proto

well this is a bare faced lie you hipster cuck

He didn't say Squeeze was good, he said it was better than any doors album. Big difference

They came out the same year.

Velvet Underground sucks so fucking much, I hope every soyboy fan of theirs dies in a fire.

The Doors win literally every time, it's a masterpiece of American music.

both albums are garbage
andy warhol was a fraud

the one with John Cale obviously

The Doors blow the entire Velvet Underground out of the water with "The End" by itself.

The West is the BEST

t. guy who said every doors album is worse than velvet's

Better than either

>weak songs
Which ones?

this

whisky bar, take it as it comes, looked at you

I eat more chicken than any man ever seen

Tvun not even close

Nigga what

Sunday Morning, Femme Fatale, Run Run Run and The Black Angel's Death Song are pretty shit too.

Doors but both great albums

...

Doors because it's listenable

I know right?

TVU is the original anti-music poseur imageshit

The Doors are rad

TVU is the original anti-music poseur imageshit

The Doors are rad

How can you even compare TVUshit to this greatness

youtube.com/watch?v=bU1sLx1tjPY

the doors by far

whisky bar is the best wtf

this this, and this

strawpoll.com/gp1g48ps

vote niggers

>this isn't even a close call
dont know about that, but yes you are right about 'the end' being the best song on both

>loaded
>good

i'd say TV&U is objectively better, but both are top ten favorite albums ever for me

but also this Doors weren't really going for a "artsy" experimental sound, just a darker psychedelic jazzy rock. when they wanted to, they could write masterpieces, The End and When the Music's Over rival anything the VU ever wrote
