The screaming ruins all the appeal that would otherwise be in the bands.
Can someone recommend me metal without harsh vocals?

>ive never listened to pantera's first four albums
>Between the Buried and Me
>Extreme metal with clean vocals
Makes me chuckle just thinking about it
Does it have to be completely devoid of harsh vocals?
at least 80% cleans or voiceless.
Judas Priest
Blue Oyster Cult

Power Metal in general
Bathory's Nordland Albums (Also I think Twilight of the Gods, generally harsher vocals the earlier you go)
Baroness
Dio
Iron Maiden
Primus doesn't have harsh vocals but Les Claypool does still have a weird voice that takes some time to get used to (Also, I don't really consider them metal, but quite a few people do)
And fuck it, the Doom 2016 soundtrack.
...
All power metal and progressive metal is devoid of harsh vocals
I would recommend Conception personally: youtu.be
Headed by Roy Khan before he got into Kamelot.
Crimson Glory has some fucking ridiculous albums: youtu.be
Astral Doors feels like new age Dio: youtu.be
Iron Savior is solid and a tad underrated: youtu.be
Golden Resurrection is good for a medieval taste: youtu.be
If you want heavier stuff just look up bands similar to Sleep, Witch or The Melvins.
Here is my personal pastebin for a lot of bands I've been meaning to download, probably missing some I can remember though and there are some JPop/electronic groups sprinkled in there: pastebin.com
Also I REALLY recommend the tune.in station Bear Metal Radio: bearmetalradio.com
They play a wide variety of metal leaning towards power/classic nonstop no commercials.
kinda sounds like you want some traditional heavy metal, or power metal. Like doom metal at all?
Modern stuff: Satan's Hallow, Eternal Champion, Khemmis
Classic stuff: Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest (not painkiller prolly), Motorhead, Riot, Legend, Crimson Glory, Manilla Road, Slough Feg, Megadeth (if you don't find dave's vocals annoying), Metallica, Scorpions, Nevermore, Accept
Now, I will say, maybe if you give the death metal a chance, you might grow to like the growl. It can be an acquired taste. But u know u, brother
Dawnbringer - Nucleus
How the fuck did I not mention Symphony X?

Melting Sun by Lantlos

Not all prog metal. Blood mountain has some harsh vocals for example
>Blind Guardian
>Judas Priest
Really any heavy metal or power metal.
Also,
>Dream Theater
But only if you can stomach music theory wankery.
Tyr is probably my favourite
>Ghost B.C.

"""""Progressive"""" Metal is worth checking out:
Any Cynic album that isn't Focus, even tho they don't sound that metal.
Spiral Architect, but the voice is really annoying.
Watch Tower, same as Spiral Architect.
Non Progressive:
Daughters's latest album, they were a grindcore band early on, now they're kinda noise rock, but some songs still keep some metal elements.
Big Business, a faster paced Melvins with cleaner vocals.
Alice in Chains, mix between glam, alternative and sludge. Proto-Buttrock to some degree, but really good stuff.
King Diamond, vocals are really an adquired taste, guitar work is great.
A shitload of NWOBHM and early heavy metal bands:
Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer, Diamond Head, Mercyful Fate (see King Diamond).
>perpetuates the most negative metal stereotypes
that honor goes to people who listens to black metal. pantera fans may be obnoxious white-trash who never outgrew their angry-white-boy phase, but black metal heads are the most pretentious, hardcore-autistic cunts walking this earth. they never stfu about burzum, the glory days of the 90s and how everybody else are posers.
Lots of alt metal
Faith No More
Quicksand
Helmet
Protest the Hero, maybe? Unique vocalist
