My Foolish Friend

I am partial to "Talk Talk" but it is "It's My Life" that got me to notice the band in the first place.

*how* do a listen to this album? Is it one of these records where you need to be tranced outstaring at a wall to *get* it?

New Grass
Just relax bro

Try listening when you're depressed, tired, and can't muster the energy to do anything or talk to anyone. Then it'll click.

I basically have caffeine in my blood by default. I'll give it a listen next time I'm baked, or alone walking

A tie between New Grass and After the Flood.

Yup, This.

its my life

What this guy said

The Rainbow / Eden / Desire

Technically released as one song in some markets.

After the Flood is the only correct answer

Very late at night/before bed

The Rainbow?

If not The Rainbow, then anything from Laughing Stock bar Taphead desu

...

there isn't one and that's a dumb/plebeian way to look at music

No, not just walking alone. Actual sadness and disillusionment.

Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock are albums written in the mind that the former pop music Talk Talk used to make had run it's course, and that all the music with dancey rhythms and tunes are just artificial facades. Kind if a disillusioned, somber type of reflection on what's been repressed.

unironically

yeah man Taphead is definitely the lowest point of laughing stock

Ascension Day. Its a shame we will never hear the full song though.

Runeii

Dum Dum Girl

taphead

Yep, though I think New Grass deserves the title as the most beautiful track in existence.

Such a Shame

I Believe in You is the greatest song ever recorded

/thread

New Grass made me cry so Ill go for that one

New Grass
Also beautiful

Desire, when the chorus comes in a second time I become euphoric

Have you listened to the last track from The Colour of Spring?
It's pretty "wow"
But yeah, New Grass is the best

Wealth, I Believe in You and After The Flood are also incredible

That song genuinely makes me cry, it makes me think about my brothers

kill yourself, I fucking loath faggots like you who think certain genres require a specific mental state or substance in order to be enjoyed. You are most likely a brainless whore with no personality or some underage fuck.

>tfw loved Laughing Stock on first listen and it's the album that changed my opinion on post-rock
>tfw took about a dozen listens before Spirit of Eden properly "clicked"
>now I have difficulty picking my favourite out of those two
I find it funny how Spirit of Eden is usually considered the more traditional and accessible of the two considering my experiences with both albums.

john cope

you're not alone i was the same way, except spirit of eden hasn't really clicked. i think it's a great record but i don't get this euphoric feeling i get everytime i listen to laughing stock. it's easily in my top 5 of all time. can you explain to me what was it for you, that made it click ?

Take one of every drug
This is the only way to truly experience it
Also the experience is enhanced if you simultaneously play trout mask replica but does up to match the length of laughing stock
Trust me

It's getting late in the evening

After the Flood is just perfect. I Believe in You is extremely nice too.

Yeah if it counts then this

Taphead is literally my favourite track so you two can fuck off

The colour of spring in general is such a pop masterpiece that kind of gets overlooked because of how good spirit and stick are

It has a similar effect on me
It's one of those songs that I feel like it was written for me

They have quite a few amazing b sides 2bh
This album is worth checking out if your a fan for the b sides
Also it has such a cool title and the cover is really ominous. I kind of want to own it in vinyl for the cover alone

dubs confirm

Missing Pieces is good too.
>tfw only just noticed the continents on the dodo

Self-titled song.
>All you do is talk talk

I'm partial to Life's What You Make It, but I seem to be alone in this...

Living in another world

underrated post

I do love this one but Living in Another World is the best track on Colour of Spring for me

this so much. New Grass being the most beautiful and After The Flood being the most "powerful"?

Time It's Time

if I ever wanted a song played at my funeral it would be this

3.58 made it click
