So fucking sick of all you Reddit retards shitposting about how awful Hacksaw Ridge is because DUDE IT'S CARTOONY LMAO MUH Sup Forums XD
Pleb as fuck psuedo-cinema opinions have no place here. Hacksaw Ridge is the finest piece of filmmaking this decade, it's direction can't be match by anything else in recent memory, and if those facts trigger you so much then shill for your piece of trash cancer flick La La Land instead.
>your only form of criticism is a retarded shot directly from the movie
Really makes me think. You're also borderline illiterate.
Aaron Ward
No you all fucking love it. Makes me physically sick when I see someone that likes that shit. Get some taste you scumfucks. Seriously.
Grayson Long
this is Sup Forums now
autistic Sup Forumstards getting triggered everytime we tell them how fucking idiotic they are. i swear you guys get triggered more than the sjw's you claim to be diametrically opposed to.
they've been trying to pretend mel hasn't always been Sup Forumscore even before his meme rants on blacks and the juden
Hudson Moore
i wasnt, i wasnt using my computer during the time. i was busy finishing high school and getting into college. what have you done?
Hudson Gray
Honest question when did redditfags and normies take over Sup Forums? I started browsing around 2009-2010 but stopped for a couple years somewhere along the line and it was never really the same. They think they fit in but it's blatantly obvious when they post, were they not happy enough having reddit and normiebook?
Desmond Doss is a real hero in my book. The movie might be a bit over the top in certain parts but that all fits with the story. According to combat reports and first hand accounts Doss was larger than life.
Levi Miller
make sense
Blake Nguyen
Hacksaw Ridge is a great movie, but I don't expect people here to admit that, and you shouldn't either.
This place is all about pissing each other off, nitpicking movies to death, and black cocks.
Just play along or fuck off.

Thanks for your copypaste post/opinion that is seen in literally every thread.
Michael Morgan
It's not just that scene, has quite a few general flaws throughout
>generic stock soundtrack with the blatant use of temp tracks >the relatively small budget becomes obvious in any bigger scale scene with The Hobbit like extra duplicates and the fact that 90% of the movie is medium and close-up shots >somewhat comedic tonal shifts in certain scenes like that first bringing down of the wounded soldier without them noticing and the Vince Vaughn sled like ride and shoot, all the while "serious" soundtrack plays in the background >too one sided portrayal of the war where the americans are ultimate heroes while the japs are characterless absolute evil monsters >every wounded soldier is magically healed with only a belt and a bit of morphine
Still enjoyed the movie in cinema, a bigger budget would fix most of my points.
Hunter Edwards
>Not Mel That's something Mel would say.
Joseph James
Like that dude's opinion is different from the
>degenerate >cuck >sjw
you faggots spam in every thread.
William Nguyen
Hackshaw was great, but that tonal shift with the war scene was to fast.
Plus i have this naging feeling the story is about Mel himself, about hit shit years ago and now his redemption.
Its stil great. But to Hollywood for me.
STOP TAKING BAIT SERIOUS FUCK FACE

Cinema is fucking dead. fuck this garbage industry. someone like Mel makes a fine work like hacksaw and retards shit on it for the most retarded reasons. stupid redditors care nothing more than shitposting on here and calling it a day.
David Parker
>might be a bit over the top in certain parts Like it should and would've been. It's Mel Gibson, he twists shit as he likes for the sake of the impact, just look at the Braveheart it's a fanfic tier, if you were to look at it objectively, although to be fair it's just as Wallaces merit as it is his.
Still one of the greatest history-dramas out there.

for Sup Forums it was in 2012ish when they found out we have streams for game of thrones and then a bigger injection came in 2014 thanks to baneposting and then the biggest one was thanks to star wars 7
Easton King
They came in around 2012 Bane memes but also you really need to fucking shut your whore mouth because no one cares
Daniel Moore
in real life a guy kicked a grenade that went off close enough to blow him backwards but didn't shred him apart with shrapnel? that's physically not possible, so it could not have happened the way it did in the trailer

Man, the Japanese convinced the population the Americans were literal demons. Civilians literally jumped off cliffs to their death when the U.S were arriving to Okinawa. It's a nation who had fucking suicide bombing pilots and thought the Emperor was a deity. They didn't fucking care about dying.

I liked Hacksaw Ridge but the writing was average. I get that the beginning was intentionally meant to be a schmaltzy Southern drama to give the brutal battle scenes more punch, but that still doesn't excuse how boring the first half hour of the movie was.
I enjoyed it, I enjoyed the battle scenes, and there were some genuinely good shots.

That's pretty accurate, in all honesty. The best scenes in terms of character and writing probably came during the boot camp, but everything else was predictable.

Honestly the the film was ruined for me by Andrew Garfield's fucking laughable accent and uneven performance
All the sillier moments aside I just couldn't get past it. He sounded like an effeminate southern dandy from a fucking cartoon.

you are comparing wartime propaganda to a movie made 70 years later
are you implying that hacksaw ridge is also propaganda about ww2, and thats why the japanese are portrayed as evil barely human monsters?
gibson has always had this problem, in every single movie of his the antagonists are flat 2d comic book villains/grunts who exist only to be defeated/slaughtered
Matthew Perry
It's funny how these screenerfags have a distinctly different opinion then anyone who saw it in cinema.
Yes, some scenes come off as a bit cheesy, but you can't judge a film only by one or two scenes, google "peak-end rule" to find out how primitive your opinion is.
Same with recent screener Arrival threads, bunch of casuals discussing literal plot points and narrative of a visual medium.
Nolan Hernandez
This. And he is such a fucking kikeface. It`s disgusting. I cringe everytime I see him.
Caleb Barnes
*sniff* Yeah, your breath homey.. the bullshit is heavy on you
Brody Nguyen
I haven't seen the movie but judging from the trailer, as a Southerner, his accent is noticeably bad. Not Rogue in True Blood bad, but distinctly fake.
Even his fake Portuguese accent in Silence is more believable.
William Murphy
Oh god he is in Silence too? Into the trash it goes.
Logan Thomas
We had a decent thread about this last week and we all came to the conclusion that film criticism is dead.
Adam Diaz
But you are on a board that judges actors and directors based on their political affiliations instead of the quality of their works.
Luke Gonzalez
>the japs are characterless absolute evil monsters Which is generally accurate for WWII Imperial Japan.
Andrew Evans
The movie fits the story it was trying to tell. Desmond Doss was a hero who defied death and against all odds survived.
In the actual story he isn't carried off on a stretcher and his Bible brought to him. What happens is a grenade explodes under him and fills his legs with shrapnel, they start carrying him but from the stretcher he sees a man get shot. Then he rolls off the stretcher, crawls to the wounded man and treats him. At that point he gets shot in the arm by a sniper, his arm bone is shattered, he makes a splinter out of a rifle stock and crawls 300m to the aid station. He realizes on the medical ship that he doesn't have his Bible so he asks someone to ask the men in company to look for it. The men go out into the battlefield, retrace his steps under heavy enemy fire and find his Bible.
In the movie we are shown Doss finds the cargo net already on the ridge. What actually happened was Desmond and another guy were the ones who carried the cargo net up and secured it. He then silhouetted himself against the skyline to signal to the men they can come up.
His heroics started in desert training in Arizona where he would share his water with his dehydrated comrades. Then in Guam he would go out under fire and bring back the wounded at night, when there was a threat from both enemy and friendly fire.
There was a Japanese sniper who said he had Doss in his sights but every time he tried to shoot him his rifle jammed.
Watch it. It's an incredible story and maybe the crazy things in the movie didn't actually happen, but other things did which are probably harder to show on the silver screen.
Other than that, it was a great war movie. The pacing was nice. Because you know the heroics are coming, but it doesn't start off on the ridge, but shows us Doss as a kid too. Turns out, he never hit his brother with a brick, he didn't want to kill from when he was a child.
Caleb Richardson

Are you new the better something is the more its discussed and shitposted about here

Do you know how shrapnel works? It's completely random. It's not some heat-guided material that "shreds" everything within a one-mile radius. Please go back to beddit.
Wyatt Thomas
According to this guy , his legs were, in fact, shredded by shrapnel.
Logan Lopez

It wouldnt have been had they accepted how mediocre the movie was and not blame da j0oz for people not buying into Mel being a master director
