I'm looking to get into old-school death metal. It can American stuff like pic related, or Swedish, or whatever. I've already listened to all of pic related, and some Entombed, Unleashed, Dismember, and Therion, from Sweden. What are essential OSDM albums? I'm looking for the most highly-praised, classic, entry-level stuff in the genre. Stuff that every death metal fan should know.

This for classic tech-death. This album used to be highly praised by death metal fans, and hailed as a classic. Many considered it to be the artistic peak of the genre, but now people will just call you a soyboy or a nu-male or whatever because it has philosophical lyrics instead of the typical gore and destruction. Don't listen to those people. Its still a great album.
