How come there are no slice of life (live action) tv show ?

How come there are no slice of life (live action) tv show ?

Northern Exposure

yo that anime sucked.

3D girls aren't cute enough and their feet aren't smelly enough as the girls in New Game

What about Gilmore Girls? It didn't have that much drama in it.

Just watch actually funny comedies like Seinfeld, IASIP, Arrested Development, Better Off Ted etc. instead.

Six feet under

because slice of life is dreadfully boring

how come no one ever mentions Brooklyn 99?

Youtube has that market sewn up with the friend simulators

Because real girls can never be as cute as anime girls.

gilmore girls

why would anyone mention B99 before parks and rec?

its literary the little brother, same producers

Why would anyone mention either of them?

most sitcoms are slice of life are they not?

What is Seinfeld

Because cute girls doing cute things doesn't work in the west.

Misogynistic and all that. Really, imagine how a live adaptation of Toradora! would play out, or zero no tsukaima R.I.P :( . Most, if not all SoL anime has some sort of tragedy character, best girl never wins.

I mean seriously, imagine how a Toradora! live adaption would work. Imagine School Days.

because they aren't funny.

It's called The Office (the original British version)

Turns out people's average life at work is fucking depressing, nothing like anime.

Does this get lewd?

Because 3DPD.

of course

Good. That's good.

What did she mean by this

>2 broke girls
>all those other comedy shows that follow normal people in their lives

reminder that BBT is technically slice of life

What the fuck do you think?

There are tons of them, like everey sitcom

Also moeshit is cancer, fuck off to Sup Forums weeb

sukina hitoga iro koto is a pretty good slice of life live action series. It's cute. Would recommend.

Reminder that moe cannot exist in 3 dimensional form

When is Galko getting her own TV show?

do Japanese people really do this?

Americans do this

Its called a sitcom.

New Game is garbage desu, Watamote is the most kino slice of life anime ever made.

Shirobako >>>>>> New Meme

new game was actually good the best even

I think the IT crowd did this really well.

the episodes where they're just sitting in the basement chatting while typing are so fucking comfy

>people listing sitcoms

That's not slice of life.

Every sitcom could be described as slice-of-life, the only difference is that they aren't about 14 year old girls with neon colored hair being cute and infantile

I need to smell and rub those anime girl feets!

Now that I think about it, the closest equivalent is like teen nick shows. Drake and Josh was pretty slice of life.

It's not that it doesn't work in the west, it's that you can't have real women acting like anime characters without seeming like they have some kind of developmental disability

...

99% of anime is about children and teens who act like fucking retards IRL. "Real women" are grown ups.

...

...

...

Is there a single good website that streams SYFY live?

>I will never touch a girls cute bare feet for """""""""""""art""""""""""""" purposes

JUST

what fucking show is this

Because without 2D cuteness, they're really fucking boring

I hate 99% of anime, and 99% of live action Jap shit. Especially their t.v. dramas.

Seriously, its all shit. They have no eye for subtlety, and the "comedy" is fucking stupid.

I want you to take that all into account when I recommend "Kekkon Dekinai Otoko" (The Man Who Can't Get Married) to you. It is pure fucking live action kino, and the closest thing to a live action slice of life you can get. It is subtle, the humor is actually good (the only time I've ever seen Japs into deadpan,) and it has a good amount of character growth.

Flying Witch

The first 2 season of Please Like Me felt basically like a 3dpd slice of life show.

>he watches moeshit SoL shows instead of animekinos

stay plebian

>he's never watched Gaki no Tsukai

I couldn't breath during the no laughing high school class stuff.

Because the west is full of Social Justice, Feminism, and liberals.

Good point.

Let me correct that.

Japs are great at variety/prank/game shows for sure.

They're also pretty damn good at dark comedy. (Survive Style 5+ and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei are great)

Romcoms and dramatic comedies on the other hand? Not so much.

>SJWs are why no one likes my shitty fag anime

I'm watching the first episode of it now and it's pretty enjoyable so far, good recommendation user.

Degrassi?
Skins?

>Watching Please Like Me
Have you had your blood test?

They are called Sitcoms.

what's the difference?
the both depict the daily life of "normal" characters
