Won't he be the only MVP to not make the HOF?
>tfw people will remember you as the answer to a trivia question

Unfortunate genetics. His knees simply weren't capable of sustaining his style of play. Rose spent his whole teenage/college career as a D-Wade style slasher without the durability to keep it going in his pro career. You can blame it on poor planning on his part (Rose is not smart, he had to pay somebody to take the SATs so he could get into Memphis of all schools), but mostly it was just unforeseeable bad luck. If Rose had played more cautiously throughout his life, developed a good jumpshot, he might have never blown out his knee and would still be a perennial All-Star.

>thibs fucking kept him in the game in a 20+ blowout with 5 mins to go
Come on. Those 20 minutes were not the main issue. Rose had injury problems for years and played an insanely high-intensity style. Thibs works his players very hard, but what happened to Rose isn't his fault.

>then again exploding knees are a ticking timebomb
Exactly, it was going to happen sooner or later.

>Won't he be the only MVP to not make the HOF?
Yes, obviously. People have been saying this since 2013.

*those 5 minutes

Typo, my bad. I swear I remember it. First round against Philly.
