Oh, you can buy an absolute disaster for $2K. I'm sure he could even be suckered into buying a early 2000s BMW that's on it's last legs for that price.

just needs to work for the minimum of 2 years, thats when my contract ends and i dont think i will need a car anymore after that

Go to /o/ they have a sticky

Also rational choice is
$2000 newer car with small engine > $2000 old car with big engine

here in germany you already get a nice Mercedes (C-Class / W220) or BMW (3 Series / E49). These things don't cost much anymore.

Geo Metro or Toyota Camry. These cars just keep running, and repairs are cheap.

Mid 90s civic.
The end, move on.

Yeah an old merc or bmw is good choice especially when they 20 years old and when they broke its fucked up coz price of parts. Fuckin junk

Get something japanese, toyota, nissan, honda. They reliable and cost of repairs is low

This. If you're buying cheap, don't buy more car than you absolutely need, and don't buy new. 90's-00's Toyota or Honda are your best bet, I've seen them with 20+ years and 200K+ miles and still run fine.

Btw my beater car is toyota corolla, only putting gas and changing oil for 3 years. Im doing mad distances and I was never afraid of road trip on this

If OP lives in Germany, maybe. My gf has a Mercedes and not only are they a PITA to work on, the parts are stupidly expensive in the US, even aftermarket stuff.

That I had on mind but my english is shit. Living in 3rd world country

Nice

camry for sure, i spent 2500 on mine and has lasted me 3 years

Bmw e39 series 5

Follow up: i'm FR, been drivin it for two years, 83000 km, man it's still reliable. Only changed the rear wheels support for 300€

Look for a metal scrap place. chances are they are selling a few cars that were donated and are too good to crush. Maybe you can get lucky.
