Story of sin was pretty good, just about fell into the category of 'not for me'. Much grander than I was expecting it to be. The shorts included as a bonus were all pretty nice. Arrow have done so much for Borowczyk in terms of availability it's really remarkable, and he really is fantastic, it's interesting to be able to trace his career from surrealist to pornographer.

First time seeing Collateral, I still don't think Mann is the greatest person of all time but that and Heat are comfortably two of the best thriller/action films I've ever seen.

follow me before i fuck you up

Mann is shit.

Mann is shit.

My mann!

My mann!

Letterboxd patricians, is Blackhat worth seeing?

Of course. Any Mann is worth seeing.

>Letterboxd patricians
lul

Of course it's worth seeing. As part of Mann's filmography and as as a 'cyberwar' thriller with odd intentions.
I consider it deeply flawed myself.

watch more classic hollywood

Whatd you think of Unconscious London Strata? It's my favorite Brakhage, and possibly my favorite short film.

>rudo y cursi 5 stars

rethink your life choices, plebeyo

It was absolutely mesmerizing, I enjoyed every bit of it, It's definitely up there as one of my favorite short films.
What other Brakhage films would you recommend?

Y tu mama tambien

not him, but if you are unironically saying that mexico don't have any kino you should start by watching more movies

I glad you felt the same way. The film totally put me into a trance like no other. I liked his painted films like Black Ice, Dark Tower, Dante's Quartet, etc. Dog Star Man is his magnum opus, but it wasn't very engaging for me. Comingled Containers is similar to ULS btw.

I would suggest Quick Billy though. It's a flicker film as well, but with a little bit more thematic cohesion to it and most importantly, sound.

I've seen Quick Billy already but I'll be sure to check out those Brakhage films in the future

Classic idiot's strategy of dumb comparisons and reductionism.
Why even reply if all you can do is a weak shitpost?

why does day for night suck so bad

It doesn't. You do

his worse by far, godard was right

You're really doing us a disservice by being a slave to your emotions and using the director's politics as your only argument. Doesn't it remind you of a certain group of despicable people?

MV > Collateral > Heat > The Insider > Blackhat > Manhunter > Thief > Ali > Public Enemies > The Last of the Mohicans > The Keep > LA Takedown > The Jericho Mile

Everything before The Keep is brilliant.
