These were some of the best things that were ever on TV. From the Happy Days episode where the black guy comes to stay with them and the mom is all racist and says shit about watermelons and the cops arrest the guy for being black at night, to the two part episode of All In the Family where Edith gets raped on her Birthday, to my personal favorite: The Bicycle Man.
>In this very special two part episode of Diff'rent Strokes, Arnold and Dudley become friends with the owner of a local bicycle shop named Henry, unaware that he is a pedophile looking for his next victim.
Michael Jackson learned to give kids "Jesus juice" to loosen them up for a dicking from watching that episode. I liked the episodes where Arnold smoked crack and Sam got kidnapped and Kimberley got kidnapped too on separate occasions. Seriously what the fuck was up with that show?
Alexander James
I liked the Facts of Life episode where the 30 year old gril lost her virginity
Nolan Cooper
>Sam got kidnapped
That's a good one. The Kimberly kidnapping episode just made me horny.
Another good one: The episode of Mister Belvedere where the kid gets, you guessed it, kidnapped and molested.
Alexander Evans
>tfw this shit tier board is too busy arguing about capeshit and politics to discuss great TV like when Laura from Family Matters got NIGGER spray painted on her locker
Anthony James
Like half of the show Blossom was this kind of episode and some weren't even that terrible.
What about the episode of Family Ties where Justine Bateman's Uncle keeps fondling her and open mouth kissing her and she tells her parents and they're like "Hey, stop molesting our daughter or we're gonna get mad." and he's like "lolokay" and the episode ends and they never speak of it again like the script was written by Tommy Wiseau? That was pretty good.
>kisses her >audience laughs, woo's and gives a single clap before they're cut out
Jackson Baker
I saw her and her brother live in a stage play in the 80's. They played siblings in an insane asylum or something, can't find info about it anywhere.
Bentley Reed
holy shit
Andrew Lewis
Don't forget the episode of Family Ties where Tom Hanks plays their other uncle who is an alcoholic and gets violent.
Kayden Carter
there was also a Facts of Life where some perv was taking swimsuit pics of the girls. Mrs. Garret even used the word "child pornography"
speaking of which. there was an afterschool special about child porn that I beat off to constantly in junior high. "Fallen Angel." The one where the guy gives a girl a puppy in exchange to get naked with a boy and make out. holy fuck.
Elijah Fisher
Oh man that happens even worse in the episode of All In the Family where Edith gets raped. It's uncomfortable as fuck you can tell the audience has no idea whether they are supposed to laugh or not.
I like the Tiny Toons episode where they get drunk
Nathan Bennett
>Fallen Angel
She was 17 in that movie and is dead now. Also the molester was Stan Marsh from IT.
Colton Young
Do you guys remember that child abuse episode on Full House?
Jackson Davis
You mean every episode where Uncle Joey was left alone with the girls?
Also is 4chanx being a total fucking cunt for anyone else?
Cameron Gomez
yea the latino kid with the leather jacket telling steph how he gets hit by his dad. probly the first "special episode" i ever actually saw unknowingly.
Leo Perry
There was one where DJ got beer sprayed on her at a dance too I remember.
Hudson Brooks
Weren't the producers on this show a bunch of diddlers?
Nicholas Mitchell
or when Jesses Papawhatever relative from Greece dies suddenly
Logan Roberts
the episode of Empty Nest where the doctor treats the kid that smoked weed like he was a piece of shit and totally gives up on him in an instant
Colton Wright
And Stephanie driving Jesse's car through the wall. Christ I think every episode of that show was a very special episode at one point or another now that I think about it.
Angel Parker
That episode of fresh prince where the moral is that guns are always bad and you shouldnt defend yourself
Ethan Powell
and each one has Bob Saget pretending to be serious about something which is unwatchable to me now.
Brody Nelson
I remember seeing this as a kid, it was a really big deal at the time but I had no idea what the fuck was going on
>This is an old Network anti drug special. Its got ALF, Garfield, The Smurfs, The Muppet Babies, Bugs Bunny and more.
>"Give me the gun, Carlton!" >"Nah Will, imma kill dem foos!" >"CARLTON GIMME DAT GUN!" >"Aight nigga." >Will shoots Carlton and takes his jewelry and sneakers >"SHEEEEEEEEEEIT"
Christopher Anderson
Alex is shocked when he rifles through the pantry before downing a bottle of vanilla extract.
Jack Wilson
>tfw I've done that after running out of liquor
;_; I'm a living very special episode.
Alexander Butler
That was basically all there was to be afraid of. Now they don't gotta be afraid of shit.
Ryder Ramirez
>Diff'rent Strokes featured some very special episodes that involved child molestation, child pornography, pedophilia, hitchhiking, kidnapping, sexual assault, epileptic seizure, bullies, racism, bulimia, drunk driving and drug abuse.
>The Facts of Life , which was a spin-off of Diff'rent Strokes, often featured very special episodes that involved teen suicide, teenage marriage, breast cancer, abortion, cheating (relationship), divorce, illiteracy, hearing problems, prostitution, a teenage mother, interracial marriage and cerebral palsy.
Holy fuck. Weren't these sitcoms?
Charles Johnson
user we are all living in the very special episode where little Tommy starts hanging out on the internet with a bunch of cyberbullies
Benjamin Bennett
Family Ties was similar - aside from the Tom Hanks alcoholism story, there was Alex's best friend killing himself, leading to a two-part avant-garde shitfest of high melodrama.
Kayden Anderson
Well, it was a very different little Tommy that is the key to understanding 70s/80s television - old, but good for anyone who's not familiar.
Drugs and molestation fearmongering were huge in the 80's because of Nancy Reagan's Just Say No campaign and the highly publicized kidnappings like Adam Walsh. I don't know if it worked and helped kids avoid this shit, but personally I was molested and I still do drugs sometimes and I watched all of these shows.
Josiah Parker
Let's say I have a daydream right now that involves both Ross Gellar and George Costanza. According to Tommy theory, both Friends and Seinfeld must also be part of my daydream
Nicholas Miller
Only if you were involved in one of those shows, or Mad About You.
Camden Ramirez
Early 90s had some good ones, like Dinosaurs had an episode of Robbie getting addicted to steroids and one where he kept eating weed.
Jason Stewart
But Tommy was not in any other shows within his universe right?
There is Friends / Mad crossover?
Angel Young
Home Improvement had Brad getting caught smoking weed, which was extra funny if you knew that the guy so mad at him about a little weed was an irl convicted coke dealer.
Josiah Brooks
>The thought of Carlton saying "nigga"
Nathan Lewis
Tommy was in St. Elsewhere, which spawned characters all over the place, and the show took place in his mind, according to the theory.
Kramer was a neighbor of Paul Reiser's character before he meets Helen Hunt in Mad about You, if memory serves - could be wrong on that.
Connor Butler
yeah. once homosexuals and pedos became cool in the media
also used to watch this show and nick freno who is dead IRL
Isaiah Morales
who touched your boipussy, user?
Liam Lewis
In recent years, I remember that episode of George Lopez where a female sex offender moves into the neighborhood and the son tries his best to bang her.
Brandon Nelson
>It's a "drunken Tom Hanks pushes around Micheal J. Fox" episode.
Jose Parker
i literally came here to post this creepy shit
Juan Torres
My QT early 20's female nanny until I was a teenager.
It still counts even though it was awesome.
Nathan Williams
Right but he could have easily been dreaming about those characters because he watched the other shows they are on. Tommy theory is really just a hypothesis without asking the writers
Ursula, Phoebe's sister on Friends, was a character on Mad About You.
Bentley Lopez
Not really - most of the, er, extrapolations, happen after Tommy's autistic moment of television glory in the series finale. The stuff about how it branches into Homicide: LotS and X-Files, for example.
He was autistic, which was a skeleton key to justify the theory - no screeching, just universe-building.
Carson Young
I'M SO EXCITED
I'M SO EXCITED
I'M SO... SCARED!
Landon Brooks
I always hated these.
Hudson Lee
After All in the Family (and to a lesser extent, M*A*S*H), a lot of sitcoms felt a need to occasionally tackle "contemporary social issues" seriously, humor be damned.
The supposed "family" shows in the earlier time-slots were actually far more strongly associated with this phenomenon than were the more "adult" sitcoms airing in the later evening.
As that type of sitcom largely died out in the mid-to-late '90s, so too did the "very special episode."
Asher Peterson
I watched a rerun of Good Times the other day where JJ thinks he has VD and meets a pre fame Jay Leno at the clinic who has dick fungus.
Nathan Lewis
There was an episode of Boy Meets World where Shawn joins a cult. The only cult I would have joined in the Boy Meets World universe is the cult of being Topanga's pusy slave.
Camden Evans
Kate & Allie, a forgotten 80s sitcom, had several of these.
Beverly Hills 90210 was a special episode factory - I think that's where the concept ultimately died.
Hunter Robinson
>No "How come he don't want me man?"
For shame Sup Forums.
Kayden Williams
Brooklyn Nine Nine did that racism episode and it was so out of place. It was made for school kids and the show has people getting tortured, do drugs and the regular sit com sex stuff.
Jordan Cox
>All In the Family where Edith gets raped >google it >it's real
Robert Harris
There was a very special episode of Growing Pains where Matthew Perry played the daughter's boyfriend and got into a drunk driving accident and he was in the hospital all fine then Kirk Cameron walks out after they get home and says he just died from internal bleeding.
This was after the Edith Goes Through Menopause storyline, if memory serves, which launches it into fetish-tier.
Connor James
I've seen it. The best part is that it's got the most inappropriate laugh track ever. It's so bad you'd think it was one of those fake edited "INNAPROPRIATE LAUGH TRACK" YouTube videos but it's 100% real.
Logan Cook
The best "very special episode" ever was on Roseanne when Jackie gets beaten by her boyfriend and Dan finds out and beats the shit out of him. I can't find the end clip where he gets arrested and walks out of the house with fried chicken in his mouth like a boss but it's great. I'd say when he admits his mom was crazy and starts crying is one of the best too but it's way too sad and Goodman is a damn good actor so it seems too real.
under w. bush the head of the fcc ended the policy think he thought it was a first amendment violation
Liam Garcia
Oh boy this is boring as shit
Ayden Wilson
>schmaltzy Whats with the Yiddish bullshit?
Isaac Robinson
IT WASN'T A CHICKEN IT WAS A BABEH!
Ayden Nguyen
Laurie Metcalf is a fantastic comedic actress.
Eli Miller
source?
Colton Harris
Is that a jew word? I didn't even know.
Kayden Garcia
the 2018 reboot scares me because it wont be as well done...
Cameron Morgan
why did he even think it was a chicken? There is no other moment in the whole series where he hallucinates one object as another
Benjamin Williams
michael is still shaken from it
Christopher Thompson
English borrows a lot of words from yiddish. I personally cringe when I listen to them because it creates a mental image of wood allen talking.
Juan Reed
After watching "An Open Secret," the Diff'rent Strokes episode about the pedophile just deeply disturbs me and destroys me.
I know we joke about shit like pedos and CP on Sup Forums but if there's any true, true evil in this world it's monsters who prey on children or worse - kidnap, trade and sell, and engage in sex acts with them.
Also, if you haven't see "An Open Secret" it's a documentary about the rampant pedophilia and "casting couch" for kids in Hollywood. Sup Forums related. Highly recommended. It's on YouTube.
