I'm thinking of just abandoning it and working on a horror short set in a movie theater.

Bump.

How do I convince young actresses to do kissing scenes and show pusy?

You become a tasteful individual and decide that kissing is as far as it goes on screen.

The fuck

Best way to stabalize shooting on a phone?

How do you make a student horror movie?

Like what kind of rigs should you use or what should you use to stabilize the footage?

For rigs, the DJI Osmo may be a bit pricey but works fucking wonders. I've heard the OWLE is a good one as well. For the absolute cheapest though, you'd be better off finding a cheap phone adapter and adding it onto a tripod.

For stabilizing footage, Emulsio works alright for me.

That's a pretty broad fucking question. I can give you a few (probably obvious) tips though:
>amp up the tension
>jump scares are for pussies
>build your characters up well, so we feel something when they die
>enclosed areas are easier to shoot in and write around
>keep the camera moving

Basically, just don't be a fucking dumbass.

come chat and het feedback

Are.... are those.... Neon Braids?

>its a short about misfit gangsters

I looked back on a script for a short I wrote flippantly 6 months ago. I realised I loved it more than I first figured (and I already knew I quite liked it) (and no, I'm not posting it cause lol paranoia).

So yeah, I'm gonna try and make a shorter short along the same lines first. And when I've found a couple of actors that I can work well with I'm gonna move forward. But finding those actors is gonna be a bitch

Two Bruce Lee obsessed ninja-adepts abandon their sensei to fight occult yakuza-ninja-cult in 80's Osaka.

Tell me what you think.

how old are you?

Moved to a new, larger town because of a larger film culture than my hometown. Reconnected with a guy who's deep in the film culture over here (Melbourne, Australia). He's going to produce my next short. Very keen to get started. Anyone else from Melbourne?

Went to Melbourne last summer, has a great vibe.

I went to Rome last summer. Where should I go this year?

I love it here. There's the 30's-era Astor theatre that plays old movies every night, sometimes on 35 and 70. The Cinematheque at the ACMI has all kinds of obscure stuff on 35. Amazing vibe for sure. In love with the place.

Vienna.

This was fun. Is there more?

I might use this for my new short film. not so much the story but the whole visual concept. thnx bro
