Does this lead into the original planet of the apes or is there more time fuckery happening like the later sequels.

Last time I saw one of these movies some literal autist yelled "This is bananas!" halfway through and ran out of the emergency exit while his mother chased after him.

Holy kek

Probably one of the few movies im genuinely looking forward to watching. Based Reeves will give us Monkino once again
Also the CG looks incredible

Good to know there will always be at least one asshat that acknowledges low effort tripe like this on Sup Forums

Kek How old did he looked?

Who would win?

How good is Caesar at mixing drinks?

Continuity reboot. It's not necessarily a prequel to the original. Ceasar was a character in the original continuity but was the son of intelligent apes who traveled to the past.

I'm guessing that we'll have another trilogy featuring the rise of the ape civilization. IIRC in the first film there's a news broadcast showing the ship that carries the astronauts into space, so that will definitely be made.

The real question is: Will the series end with the earth blowing up?

It seems like that was already retconned.
The humans destroyed themselves by creating a virus that existed within the apes. I suppose an explosion is still possible, or maybe Charleston Heston was wrong and nothing blew up. All he saw was what remained of the dilapidated statue of liberty.

>ceaser born in present times
>think he's going to be the Adam for the intelligent apes
>lol no they evolved on their own at the exact same time he came around

I like these movies as their own canon with neat callbacks to the originals, going forward I'd like to see things like how their mutation further evolves, like show an ape who can stand up straight but his parents made him stoop otherwise he'd be seen as an outcast

Watch her movie, Sup Forums

Truly monkino, already MOTY

Nice Lynch hairdo.

Serious question though, should mocap actors get their own award category or go head to head against flesh and blood actors?

M O N K I N O

This ends with the apes winning and humanity either erased or enslaved, right?

No, Serkis should've been acknowledged for his performances, what he does is harder than half of the oscar winners.

Considering it's a prequel to Charlton Heston movies.

APEKINO. I'm gonna go watch this one.

It's not a prequel, it's s reboot.

>A literal ape is a better villain than anything marvel has shit out

Will it win the visual effects Oscar this time? ;_;

MORE THAN TELEVISION AND FILM

Just watch another space movie win

No, I mean the omega bomb from beneath the planet of the apes.

In the second film from the original trilogy literally the entire earth blew up.

Is there any other reboot that was on par if not better than the original? Only ones that come to mind are The Thing and The Fly.
