Sakamoto is my lifeblood

Love this movie. Saw it for the first time at 3am a number of years back on Plex. Here's more Sakamoto goodness:

Can't really beat your post desu
>nick cave
I like that one too. Still need to watch the movie.
Philip Glass's score of Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters complements the movie perfectly:

Out of the six or seven Oshima movies I've seen, it's the only one that didn't work for me.
Soundtrack was leagues better than the film itself. Probably suffered from Oshima having to direct English-speaking actors for (I think) the first time.
love this track. so urgent and kinetic
I haven't seen any of his movies actually. What about In the Realm of the Senses? Is that any better?
In the Realm of the Senses is the best one to start with, since it's his most famous. Also has a great soundtrack:

I would argue that Taboo (1999) is his best flick, but it's a tad too gay for some.
why hasn't anyone posted this. It is the best score track I have ever heard.

Are you going to make a short film for Mr. Sakamoto, Sup Forums?
>The short films will be judged by Ryuichi Sakamoto, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, and audiences from around the world.
Holy shit. I'm not worthy. I want to do this, but I don't think I'd be up to snuff.
What track(s) would you use if you did make a short film?
I was thinking I could make a video version of youtube.com
Do you think Sup Forums could band together to make a short film for Sakamoto?
>Wings of Honneamise
My nigga

>tfw you watch this movie every year on christmas and get piss drunk
>scenes where it's okay for men to cry
youtube.com
I cry at the father christmas scene and at the end. It's such a poignant movie.
>There are times when victory is very hard to take.
>You are the victim of men who think they are right. Just as one day you and Captain Yunoi believed absolutely that you were right. And the truth is, of course, that nobody is right.

>absolute

you sure about that user?
great overemphasized soundtrack for the material

reddit-tier movie, pham
>everything similar is either reddit or Sup Forums tier
both are good movies
also, the point of Oldboy is a portrayal of the effect on the protagonist and antagonist's lifelong struggles which started with their respective beginnings and never end. the rest of the movie is just diversion away from this reality through the perspectives of Oh Dae-su and the audience. the brother only lives for his sister's vengeance, while the victim only lives because he is maintained until he apparently lives for his own vengeance.
Step aside plebs.
