I can confirm that Goodbye Lenin, The Lives of Others (Das Leben der Anderen) and Das Experiment are all very good
The first two are both about East Germany
Goodbye Lenin is set in East Berlin. It starts just before the wall falls. Then the wall does fall and Berlin is reunited, but the main character's mother has a fragile heart or something, and doctors think she might die if she has a big shock. So the son tries to pretend to her that she's still living in East Berlin.
The Lives of Others is about a dude who is a spy for East Germany, spying on his own citizens. He sits in a room and listens to what has been captured on bugs planted in people's homes.
