I'm from Rio, lived here all my life, and I will surely not talk good things about it atm, too many poor migrants from the northeast, too many blacks and obviously, too much violence and dirty because of it. I'm just waiting to finish my uni to leave this city once and for all.
The rest of the State of Rio de Janeiro is good tho, outside the metro area of course, places like Petrópolis, Teresópolis, Búzios, Angra dos Reis, Vassouras and others are pretty nice.
