I dunno. They made a bunch of cool hamlet remakes in the UK, one of them was set in a 40s or 50s era it was really cool. They kinda missed the mark with this one

I unironically enjoyed this. Even teared up a little. Not even a chick.

To show in classrooms

So i could fingerbang my gf in the theater.

I remember it being shown in my 7th grade English class. I also remember there being tits

>What, drawn, and talk of peace! I hate the word,
As I love to scam, simply because I can.

That was the older film

Because Baz Luhrman likes silly, over the top operatic stuff that blends old fashioned stories with elements of modern pop culture.

To kill her career.

>quick! Let's get dat twink Leonardo in the can before he gets fat!

This is easily one of the best adaptations of a Shakespeare work ever.

Broken link on my end

Why is this named "shhhhh.jpg"?

The reality is they want to replace that version with a safe version.

What could've been the most aesthetic movie in history

My bad, try this one.
dailymotion.com/video/x1kkig

It's undeniable kino.

When I saw the movie I haven't seen a Latino or Chicano in my life and I thought : "So this is what Catholics are like!"

You know, it's actually kinda clever because the way this is playing with latino stereotypes is kinda comparable to how the play is said to play with italian stereotypes of the time.

IM ACTIIIIIING: The Movie

Is Baz underrated? I've seen all of her films and loved every single one, but I never see her on lists of best modern directors.

For a brief closeup of Claire Danes's feet.

>brown mongrels from subtropical location A act like brown mongrels from subtropical location B
consider my almonds activated sir

My older sister was obsessed with this movie when it came out. Posters on her wall, listening to the OST every day. So I get nostalgic for it even though I was never into it.

Still a pretty good movie though.

>IM ACTIIIIIING
What is this a reference to and why do people keep quoting it?

It has some pretty fucking aesthetic posters, it needs to be said.

It was so good they even referenced it in anime.

nostalgia critic iirc

>her

But yes, he kinda is. I was actually a bit sad that The Get Down didn't get another season, I enjoyed it quite a bit.

>when best boy is also best girl

Because it was a good movie

"Peace?" could be the new "Bane?" if Sup Forums shitposters actually watched movies.

this.
also they showed us this in middle school and clair danes was hot

...

Why was Ran ever made?

LOVE ME LOVE ME

Would have been kino without the love story

Literally every american was forced to watch this movie

I bite my thumb at all of you.

SON???

THE BOYS THE BOYS

Same, I enjoyed it

but i quite like the use of old language contrasting in a modern setting, the great gatsby also did this well

Do you bite your thumb at us, user?

Baz Luhrmann didn't think Shakespeare was gay enough already

I bite my thumb at people I don't like irl but it's because of the play not this movie (the movie is pretty good though)

>using a gesture because of a play where it's supposed to be a silly gesture

Pretty autistic, mate.

Same.
It's got its flaws, but it's a genuinely good piece of cinema.

Look at the movies that were released in the year this came out, in the decade this came out, the fucking stones it took to make it.

It's not the first or last time the fag that made it took a big gamble and had a huge impact on popular culture either.

I got called out on it once and was humiliated in public. I still do it though

>Fetch me my longsword, ho!

This. He likes sequins and lights.
The car chase in this was laughable due to lack of cash, but if you gave Baz more money he would have spent it on even more lights and sequins for the party scene.

>it's supposed to be a silly gesture
Back in Shakespeare's time it was the equivalent of flipping the bird.

I don't know why it is so hilarious to me that "sword" is a brand of gun in this movie. And the way they zoom in to make that clear.

The fucking shirt that Leo wears was worth making a movie around to be quite honest family.

>I got called out on it once and was humiliated in public.
That is great, you've got to tell us the story.

I literally only just watched this yesterday, it was kinda schizophrenic for the most part but it was decent when it wasn't trying to be funny. Claire Danes was a total qt back then as well, mad frumpy now though which is a shame.

The use of it is supposed to be silly. The cunt who does it flips someone off and then refuses to admit that he's flipping someone off because he's too chicken to start a fight, like a kid being caught flipping off the school bully. It's a sign of how stupid the feud has become, when random servants are flipping eachother off even when they're so cowardly that they won't admit to doing it. Starting to use the gesture because of that part, rather than being Italian or getting it from some other source, is pretty weird.

>I got called out on it once
What did you do, run into the fucking Shakespeare society?

>invited to fraternity party because I made friends with a frat guy at the same university while studying overseas
>get set up to dance with a hot girl
>she has zero interest in me and another guy sweeps her away
>I bite my thumb at him and turn to leave
>he loudly declares "DO YOU BITE YOUR THUMB AT ME, SIR?"
>instead of engaging in call and response I stammer "yes"
>he punches me in the face
>everyone at the party roars
>I wake up outside at 4am next to a tree with "faggot" written on my face in permanent marker
>I walk back two miles to my dorm
this is a true story

Yeah, that's all true. That's why I just use the middle finger, personally.

Holy shit, that's an even better story than expected.

...

What did Baz mean by this?

besides Pete Postlethwaite elevating every film he is in

>instead of engaging in call and response I stammer "yes"
Jesus christ, son, all you had to do was stammer "n-no" and it would have turned into Shakespearean banter instead of punching. Didn't you learn anything from the play?

>mfw some Chad uses his one bit of Shakespeare knowledge to loudly declare "DO YOU BITE YOUR THUMB AT ME, SIR?" before decking some nerd

forgot pic like a mong

This movie has John Leguizamo's best role. I do not think he has ever given a better performance than he did in this movie.

The Happening.

I LIKE TO

the priest grew weed and was a stoner, whats what he meant

can any /k/fags tell me whats on the tip of his gun?

Le Ravageur

EVERYBODY FREE

A 9 minute scene of a part in the play that takes 30 seconds to read?

Well, first off there's a difference between reading and acting, but yes, this movie does elongate the play a bit. Since it's limited by the script there's a lot of portions where it just doesn't have dialogue.

That's pretty cringey user

Wait till you get to his story.

>mfw I just realized the Montague and Capulet buildings are made to look like Trump Tower
Even in the 90s people knew what an idiot Trump was.

lmao, good one

>when you can tell someone is reading through the thread and responding to posts as they read it

It's an extender. Makes the bullets go further.

That does not sound real.

The girl was pretty hot in this.

She grew up to be an ogre though.

Sad.

I unironically loved it

>all this Claire Danes hate
>look her up
>she just looks like a normal woman

What the fuck is wrong with Sup Forums?

coolifier
makes it look cooler

Is that the lady from Homeland Dammmn

Some pointless shit

I'd say it was a compensator to reduce how the muzzle climbs when the gun is fired, but in the movie there are no gas ports on top of it; which is how handgun compensators normally work
(pic related)

The only thing it seems to actually do is extend the sight radius (distance between the front and rear iron sights) to being closer to the full length of the barrel, which has been extended a few inches.
This can have a marginal effect on precision of aiming with the iron sights since there is a better indication of where the tip of the muzzle is facing, the further way the front sight is.
But he's using a reflex sight anyway, so there's little point in having it

>Generation Z trying to shit on 90s kino

I always had trouble with textbooks. I wanted to enjoy the movie but whenever I hear those words I got distracted. It's not just the script itself but also the negative stuff about how I failed my high school getting reminded.

Should have read more books. Studied harder.

The fuck? It's not that hard to follow.
