Yes, although I was admittedly a bit uncertain of the sentence structure. It's been a while since I had to construct a sentence in Irish.

Great edition, desu.

Idoru is kind of amusing in a 90s-japan-seen-by-80s-americans-born-in-the-40s way, also it literally elevates hikkineets to cyber samurai wizard staus
I hope you don't play Civilization because Sid Meier is literally a swiss yank

Attached: 41j7HmH0twL.jpg (306x500, 32K)

but isn't Idoru the second part of a trilogy? shouldn't I better start with the first one?

Maybe? I didn't really get much out of it other than learning what Kowloon Walled City is.

You could also try Pattern Recognition, it's apparently about internet shitposting.

Also if you're being broad with the definition of book there are pdf links in a bunch of /tg/ threads. I'd usually start with GURPS sourcebooks, they're usually a good introduction to any particular setting.

>Leo is considering kicking out some Russian diplomats

Is a shame that we're essentially getting peer pressured into this. In my opinion he should hold off expelling anyone unless the EU demands it or every other member state does the same.

Attached: 1477055095959.jpg (1000x1186, 560K)

To be fair, Leo only said there would be expulsions if Russian spies posing as diplomats were discovered in Ireland. This of course means that there will be no expulsions at all.

Follies of youth I suppose. Maybe it's part of some grand strategy, he says so many crazy things that eventually everyone stops caring and he get away with whatever he wants. Just look at that windmill thing last week, everyone said he'd have hell to pay when he returned to Ireland and I haven't heard him even address it since.
>Please fucking bring back Enda
You had your chance.

Oui, think a lot of people felt the same in fairness, idk.

>but that's KanColle
It looked like a 3D KanColle game, but now I see the cogs so I guess it is just the normal game.

Why don't we just get them to stop recognising the dup as a legitimate political party on the grounds that it was founded by a genuinely insane person?

Attached: 1498202658279.jpg (1280x720, 236K)

First of all who is "them"?

The British government, I suppose.

>Moreso than usual?
Considerably so. I wouldn't call it propaganda, but they're making a big fucking deal about how the EU is listening to them and are calling a spade a spade when with regard to the bullshit Russian diplomats and spokespeople have been spouting since the attack.

>Are we on the verge of the Second Crimean War?
Probably not considering it's a Russian stronghold now.

>SPOILERS
I specifically cropped it to remove spoilers.

Attached: 1516911825991.png (538x1123, 524K)

Not going to happen when the DUP is what's keeping May in power at the moment. Plus, as much as I don't like Foster and her gang, the origins of a party don't matter all that much. Many political parties around the world were founded a very long time ago and have changed considerably since then. Fine Gael's origins in particular are very far removed from their current status.

>I suppose
You don't sound very confident.

>I wouldn't call it propaganda
I would.
>they're making a big fucking deal about how the EU is listening to them
Something like "The EU agrees that this attack that's very likely linked to Russia is linked to Russia, this means they must be willing to give us the greatest Brexit deal ever!" I take it?

>Probably not considering it's a Russian stronghold now
But it was part of Russia back then too. But I guess in any hypothetical war with Russia the main front would be in mainland eastern Europe so it would be unlikely for it to be called the Crimean War, but really I only said that in the first place because it was the only war between Russia and England I could think of.
Did the UK ever officially declare war on the Soviet Union in WWII?

>I specifically cropped it to remove spoilers
Saying that is even more of a spoiler.

Attached: 7020f782b64d96d6368696.jpg (2149x3035, 3.39M)

>I would.
Personally I think there has to be a certain degree of fact-twisting for it to be propaganda. Otherwise you're just stating facts, are you not?

>"The EU agrees that this attack that's very likely linked to Russia is linked to Russia,
>this means they must be willing to give us the greatest Brexit deal ever!" I take it?
I haven't seen that second bit admittedly.

>Did the UK ever officially declare war on the Soviet Union in WWII?
Nope. They even declared on Finland because the USSR was their ally against the Germans.

>I think there has to be a certain degree of fact-twisting for it to be propaganda. Otherwise you're just stating facts, are you not?
Not necessarily. Bending of the truth in any regard can be considered propaganda, likewise withholding information on certain subjects or only presenting one side of a story. It all depends on how the facts are presented.

Attached: 1515933611457.jpg (508x509, 92K)

>Bending of the truth in any regard can be considered propaganda
That's what I meant by "fact-twisting".

>likewise withholding information on certain subjects or only presenting one side of a story
Really hard to present the Russian side of the story in a fair light when they are spouting conspiracy theories and whataboutism.

>It all depends on how the facts are presented.
True.

Attached: 1491034611614.png (1400x2099, 1.12M)

That's a nice bush.

>when they are spouting conspiracy theories
I haven't heard any thus far. Last I checked they were simply denying any involvement.

>That's what I meant by "fact-twisting"
But you said it had to reach a certain point of that, I was saying that knowingly twisting facts in even the slightest amount could be counted as propaganda.

>I haven't heard any thus far
Yesterday their ambassador to the UK accused them of staging a false flag attack on live TV, which is something Moscow had been insinuating previously.

>But you said it had to reach a certain point of that
Bad phrasing. I meant "any degree of fact-twisting".

Attached: 1518249236269.png (474x741, 267K)

>spouting conspiracy theories
Every conspiracy we know about came to light because someone spouted a conspiracy theory. Just look at the mess Sarkozy is in.

>the UK staged a false flag chemical attack on British soil using a Soviet-era nerve agent that was only ever produced in Russia
For what purpose? Not to mention that Russia has done this sort of thing before in the UK.

It's important to wait until all the facts are on the table before taking sides, but there's no way you can equate the claims that the British government is making with the bullshit Russia is spouting.

Attached: 1506403326101.png (909x1200, 857K)

An MI6 agent's body was found in a gymbag, zipped closed from the outside, in his house in Wales and the coroner ruled it a suicide.

Oh, yeah, MI6 is beyond reproach. Don't get me started on Diana.

>Oh, yeah, MI6 is beyond reproach
Never said that. But a false flag chemical attack on British soil does seem like a bit of a stretch.

>Don't get me started on Diana.
No, please - go ahead. Other than the ambiguous "the royal family had her killed" line, I don't know much about Diana conspiracies.

>Don't get me started on Diana
youtube.com/watch?v=b4meFC1ee7Q

>I'd believe it. Truly perfidious.
Well, of course I'd believe it if evidence came to light that proved it or very heavily suggested it. But as of right now, there's not a shred of evidence to suggest it was anybody other than the Russians.

Why did Scotland get to have their flag flying?

I'd be surprised if that actually was the Scottish flag. Probably just a naval ensign of some description.

I kind of assumed since I recall seeing something like that before. I was hoping you'd know what it was for certain and make an educational post about maritime flag etiquette.

Attached: 1515986074484.png (443x485, 189K)

>I was hoping you'd know what it was for certain and make an educational post about maritime flag etiquette.
Not something I know much about to be honest.

Attached: 1510983006114.jpg (3000x1512, 259K)

From my brief looking up of naval signals, it seems the flag represents the letter M and when flown by itself means "My vessel is stopped and making no way through the water".
Upon closer inspection I can see the flag couldn't have been Saint Andrew's due to it being square and only half the size of the red ensign above it. However on closer inspection of THAT I'm now wondering why only England's flag is in the canton instead of the whole Union Jack. And I can say Union Jack instead of Union Flag because it's at sea, unless that doesn't apply when the flag is cantoned within another.

Another fun night of vexillology it seems.

Attached: 1502719981644.jpg (800x1074, 395K)

>From my brief looking up of naval signals, it seems the flag represents the letter M and when flown by itself means "My vessel is stopped and making no way through the water".
Makes sense since the ship is stationary.

>However on closer inspection of THAT I'm now wondering why only England's flag is in the canton instead of the whole Union Jack
That's the British Naval Ensign.

Attached: 1496642810441.png (700x980, 701K)

>That's the British Naval Ensign.
Disregard that. I misread what you said.

I can't find a record online of any flag with St. Geroge's cross cantoned in the top right.

The most I can find is that it's the ensign used before their union with Scotland. But looking at the picture closer I think it might just be the regular red ensign with the Union Flag, but due to the quality of the photograph only St. George's cross is noticeably visible. I think I can just about see the white in St. Andrew's but it's faded.
Makes a great analogy for the UK.

Flat is justice.

>But looking at the picture closer I think it might just be the regular red ensign with the Union Flag, but due to the quality of the photograph only St. George's cross is noticeably visible
I thought so too, but the colour of the body of the flag looks too dark to be white. As you said, it could be an issue with the photograph itself.

You're right. Comparing it to the white part of "Mike" below shows that it can't be St. George's or the white would be more pronounced.
