Find a flaw.
You can't. You're right, I can't
Not even close
Did Beavis and Butthead ever have a cameo in Daria?
I like Daria. She's pretty but she's kind of dumb sometimes.
She'd probably be really insulted by that, to be honest.
She has low self esteem but it would be funny to see her get triggered. Plus at least she tries to not be dumb sometimes so she's better than most. She just ends up with incorrect conclusions and questionable decisions every once in a while.
t. Brittney with a penis
Daria KEKED Jane.
Although I love Daria, Jane is objectively a better person.
They cum on Pizza
Ok well this is the weirdest boner I've had in a while
I'm not going to pretend they're flawless but they are summa my favorites
she has low esteem for others
I'd eat it
"t." is a retarded /int/ meme, pay no attention toiit
The good music got cut out.
Boring and pretentious as shit.
Nah they're just third wave feminists
Daria made decisions based around her anxieties. She was usually wrong because distorted thoughts are wrong. It's kind of cool that even a smoove sophisticate like Daria was by no means untouchable.
So... the think tank of SJW's then?
that's not how I remember it, but sure.
Well, I mean, uhh, subtext?
A sitcom is a sitcom but a lot of what made Daria who she was (detached, sardonic, afraid to try new things) is the kind of behavior that a person with high anxiety would exhibit. And she has panic attacks throughout the series. It's not necessarily profound, but it does point to her being a more interesting character than a 40 year old man writing about how much he hates kids these days.
All she does is be snarky and sarcastic like she's the only one who could possibly be correct on the entire earth. It's an unrelenting assault of 14 year old girl humor
which sucks, because I like every other character besides Daria. she's just so overwhelmingly 14 year old girly.
Also I'd like to see how Mike Judge would have handled her for a series
I don't remember that either.. she was extremely chill
then again I'm extremely chill too and I'm told I have anxiety issues that keep me from doing stuff.. to me I'm just judging those things as not a good idea. I don't feel like she was wrong that often, and when she was, nobody else was right.
I dunno, I also have anxiety issues and I've taken it as a responsibility in my adulthood to recognize that my judgement of situations as being "not a good idea" is usually clouded by my own insecurities. Usually when I put myself out there and do things that go against my instincts, I end up learning new things and having lots of fun.
I guess it's hard being smarter than everyone, nobody's advice is better than my own judgment.. and whenever I go even the slightest bit against my instinct, everything goes completely tits-up. but things don't go well regardless, generally because of outside influences I have no control over.
but anyway, Daria. this show was funny and great.
Too bad Beavis and Butthead weren't in the show.
I wanted see them at a Mystic Spiral concert.
I don't remember that either.. she was extremely chill
She spent a whole day hiding in a cardboard box because she couldn't deal with reality.
that was one episode though, and basically the climax of her journey
and it wasnt being unable to deal with reality, it was trying to focus on a long-eroded memory
and even THAT was basically her worrying that maybe she was causing her parents too much grief by being so great, but they reassured her they'd rather have a kid who is great
you will never spend an entire day with Daria in a box
Don't make a box pun
Don't make a box pun
"Do people even call it that anymore? It doesn't even look like a box.. I mean, look."
You.. you're not wearing underwear
"You mean that thing women have never worn until some clever executive realized he could double his business? The major cause of yeast infections or bacterial vaginosis? No, user, I'm not wearing that. All of mine's in the wash. I wore six pairs yesterday"
If you gave Daria a bunch of real facts and slipped in a few fake ones would she be fooled by them, if they sounded legit?
Do you think Jane and Trent ever explored things when they were little?
I think she'd tentatively believe most of what you tell her based on its plausibility, but say she won't believe any of it solidly until she's done her own research (she's from the late 90s so research sources werent all fucked up yet)
almost certainly. their parents are hippies so then ran around naked until they were 6, for sure, but later on when things started changing, Jane probably came to Trent all scared and he explained it to her and showed her a playboy he'd found
That Zipper is To Big
that... is a surprisingly plausible origin. I could see it in an episode.
I want to disagree with this, but she DID call out a company for not hiring enough women and minorities.
But prior to that, she wrote and anti-communist propaganda story with a hot female lead and is shown to play violent video games so... eh.
would they get along?
Daria doesn't hate you unless you give her a reason to. She won't go out of her way to hang out with you, but she won't hate you. That being said, Tomoko DOES do a lot of shit that would annoy her.
Not at all.
Tomoko's spiteful pettiness doesn't really mesh well with Daria's aloof pettiness.
I imagine it'd be a throwaway line from Jane (possibly in the locker room?) along the lines of
C'mon Daria, lose the towel. you don't have anything I haven't seen before
I bet SHE does (Brittany)
Actually when I was 11 and I grew my first pube, I ran scared to Trent because I thought I was turning into a werewolf, and he showed me an old playboy he'd found. I learned a lot that day
Like how to mix cocktails with amusing names
Or who won when Gore Vidal and Miles Davis had a boxing match!
the anti-communist propaganda was trolling though, and her parents considered that kind of thinking to be "Extremist" even though it was just the sensible correct attitude to have vis-a-vis commies. again, hippies.
The thing you have to remember is, at the time, that fight was actually relatively worth fighting. Not very hard, and not for long, but there were still a few noncompliant businesses.
It's if you do it NOW that you're a self-important piece of shit, because it's well, WELL past the point when you could have done any good, and you're just reopening a wound that's quite healed at this point.
Jane was too tall and not really my type. I'd still hang out with her though.
At first, for sure.
Then she'd pick up on the vibes of what's going on underneath and have a real good honest talk with her about how she doesn't need to keep all that hatred inside, which is clearly a symptom of the deep paranoia she feels coming from all sides. she can try channeling it harmlessly into snarky remarks instead of trying to manipulate everyone, and maybe she'll grow up to be a better person
then Tomoko would reveal she's Quinn's age, and Japanese, and y'know, they don't talk about their feelings, and Daria would be shocked someone's even shorter than her, and probably keep the fuck away from her because Tomoko's probably an irredeemable psycho at this point.
Then Tomoko would date Upchuck and all would be well
no one chanting "diarrhea cha cha cha"
later on, tom and daria have a little exchange about castro and trotsky
well yeah Daria mentions various dictators several times, she seems to find the study of them fascinating. Most likely so she can compare the shitty authorities in her life to them.
Daria is probably hyper passive in a relationship
and in that way, too.
Jane sounds alright, but she comes off as kinda boring.
good kind of passive? because ever since that time she let Trent talk her into getting a navel ring, that's been one of my major Daria fantasies. Like she just melts when I suggest things to her.
except I'd have her do the opposite of piercings. things that would actually make her happier and more comfortable. like taking her boots off inside.
More like she'd resent you every time something goes wrong or she has to get out of her comfort zone, until you don't even try anymore and you break up because you're both bored.
why would she resent me? it wouldn't be my fault. there's always someone else to blame
and i wouldnt take her out of her comfort zone OR mine. there's just a lot of shit you dont wanna do alone that you do want to do with someone. like movies, or restaurants. or letsplays.
Only fanart will tell.
Daria is very cute
show for school shooters
i'm so much better than those people, i DRIVE people to shoot up schools. I'm sure they'll never get me or anyone i care about because I couldn't resist the lulz of messing with people
I want to fuck you, OP
Being the least hot girls on the show.
Daria is a unlikable bitch.
She shits on others people attempts a self improvement.
Has no discernible skills of her own.
Where is not for her occasional bouts of empathy she'd come off a complete sociopath.
That said she's fun to watch.
well it took longer than usual for this to show up
now let's all ignore it and get back to talking about how we love her
