Now that the dust has settled, who was this film for?

Now that the dust has settled, who was this film for?

Intellectuals like myself.

110+ IQ only

patient people

Has anyone got the pasta about the type of person its directed at (with it aimed at the people who grasped the twist when she entered the mist with the aliens)

normies who think they are smart by watching "smart" films.

literal trash. i cant believe the same guy who did Sicario came up with this trash.

unironically this

For people who defy logic, like myself.

high IQ women

An okay movie based on a really garbage short story.
It was intended for pseuds.

I'm a linguistics major and it certainly wasn't for me.

Plebs. People who think they know good movies, good acting, physics etc. Redditards and Sup Forums alike.

Amy adams was shit and most normies praised her

It's for Intellectual radical centrists who understand that the movie was about the human race not being advanced enough in linguistics, economics, physics and communications to deal with an actual alien visit which it did quite well.

It’s better than Sicario you fag.

Enemy > BR2049 > Arrival > Prisoners > Sicario

coworker told me to see it, said it was really cool how they approached the linguistics and how they learned to speak the aliens' language

>she learns to speak their language fluently in a 30 second cut scene

Your coworker is a pleb

Prisoners was way better than Arrival

Sicario would've been better than Arrival if it had less Blunt

It's a cute, intelligent movie but the larger theme of communication ultimately fails because we don't really see these issues manifesting between characters, just between abstract groups of humans and the aliens.

The movie needed to be longer and we needed to see more about General Shong and his waifu, and especially the main couple. If the ''third act'' was dedicated to them more fully that might have made it a masterpiece.

Also fewer montages would have been nice.

*I block your path*
BR2049>Enemy>The other 3

no kidding, he always tried to show me the anti trump shit his normie friends posted on facecuck

People that want to watch a movie?

No one special. People of normal intellect.

Seriously, unironically, what do you sincerely think is a movie that, let's say, can more regularly be enjoyed if you're smarter or actually put effort into focusing on it ? (and no shit like Primer, please)

for females. it's all about muh-emotions, muh-angst, muh-respect, muh-whatev.

>intellectuals
HUGE DEUS EX MACHINA

>answer is not in physics it's in feeeellleeeeeengs
>implying high iq

imbecile (You)

Prim-- oh, nevermind.

Baraka
Der Krieger und Die Kaiserin
Fermat's Room
Au Revoir les Enfants

Fuck, man. Do you like any movies in English?

Patrician mommies.

Ty. Downloading Fermat's Room

>Baraka

Have you seen Samsara ?

I only watch Disney cause they use language I understand :)

there's no difference between smart people and dumb people lol :)

Heptopods.

>Now that the dust has settled, who was this film for?
I don't know...
But what i do know is that i fucking loved it. Why ? Because it spoke to me on an emotional level. The giant squids were just a secondary detail....What worked for me was the narration. The chronology. The whole story about the main protagonist's daughter...etc...

people who like sci fi books and shit like contact and star trek and have been complaining for the last 40 years that sci fi is too violent and action oriented.

me because I liked it
but for real, it's a really good scifi movie. see this

>Have you seen Samsara
Yeah. Very beautiful to look at but a little ham-fisted with the messaging.

I liked Baraka better.

For that matter, there's a Qatsi trilogy, which is also masterful.

>who was this film for?

People who didn't read the book beforehand, have the whole thing ruined, and then see a weaker version of the story.

India Song
Die Antigone des Sophokles
Hitler, ein Film aus Deutschland
Wavelength

>Baraka
lmao

me, because i enjoyed it
