3 hours long

this isn't a bad thing but 3 hrs in the cinema?

>you would need a babysitter thats money
>since you are getting hours of alone time you probably want to eat somewhere nice
>you would have to find parking if the cinema didn't have a dedicated lot
>you would have to sit for 3 hours locked into a venue

It would cost more that the ticket to see

I think blue ray sales will be high however

You're a gay loser that's what went wrong.

As for Blade Runner 2049, it's K I N O

nothing

first

Are you retarded?

Nothing, Villeneuve made a sequel that not only surpasses the original, but expands on the ideas presented as well.

>you should boycott it if I'm not in it
>director puts in a CG copy of her
>kills her in under 5 minutes
HAHAHAHAHAHA

do police departments not have cameras? Why wasn't Leto's replicant locked up for murder after she killed the coroner?

I wish Harrison Ford and his fucking t-shirt weren't in it.

second

I am listening

>old Ford
>CGI actor
No wonder it felt so similar to nu-wars.

>character with a 4 year lifespan should appear decades in the future
Really makes you think

She appears in the credits.

third

It's implied that the corporations have as much, if not more, power than world governments. The LAPD have about as much control & enforcement over society in general as parking attendants.

Wallance alone managed to force the ruling powers to lift the replicant prohibition, and his company/technology is responsible for feeding the entire earth and driving off world expansion... you really think they're going to try to arrest or shut him down over the equivalent of a sheriff being murdered?

roastie spotted

she was not a nexus 6. otherwise she couldn't give birth
yeah, because they use a voice clip of her's from the first movie

>surpasses

Women

who says she'd had to play as raechel?

this. it was a dumb scifi action movie with shameless fan service. its every bit as dishonest a movie as TFA and Rogue One

Toll status: PAID

the absolute state of Sup Forums. Might as well merge this board with r/movies.

I think the fact they had to shoehorn Ford in and continue the story from the original is the weakest part. I would've been content if it was it's own stand alone film.

Deckard & Rachael were the only two prototypes for the next series of replicants after roy Batty's generation (they were Nexus 8 I believe?). Upgrades included being about to reproduce, and have an unlimited lifespan. They were Tyrell's final work (masterpiece?) but he was killed before he could develop things any further.

$150 million budget is way too much for a 30+ years later sequel to a film that flopped the first time. Unlike every other terrible Sony decision lately though it led to a good movie, if not a profitable one

It was too familiar

bad marketing

>that's right jay

>Deckard
delet

*right

I always wondered about the unlimited lifespan thing. How flabby and wrinkly and dekard get and still be alive

If this doesn't win every conceivable cinematography award this year there'll be hell to pay

Please, someone tell theres a pornstar that looks like the pink haired replicant, or at least a style of dress. God my dick was so hard at the idea of taking her behind one of those frosted rooms and plowing her into 2050

that bearded girl is hot

Were they replicants?

Nothing it was better than I ever thought it would be, and better than Riddley Scott would make it.

Goose would actually make a decent Jay in the inevitable biopic. Who would play Mike and Rich though?

...

wtf she was one of the slags in knock knock? any nudity??

>sterile, boring imitation of the original
wow such kino

He wore it better than that Vulcan looking faggot 2bh

>having a step-son

Fuck off normie.

ana de armas is always nude lol

racist

"cyberwhat?, fuck it im gonna wear jeans and a tshirt"- Harrison ford

I've heard the same meaningless empty criticism a bunch of times here over the last few times, why don't you actually say something meaningful?
Or, even better because you never intended to actually discuss the film honestly, go talk about things you do like instead of bothering people who liked things you didn't.

CLASSIC YUROSLAG LMAO

Knew I recognised her!

Why would he be wearing anything else? He's living miles away from civilization in the ruins of Vegas.

>teal and orange
Wow, great job. People sure do love to suck Deakins' little deacon.

You're opinion isn't right just because you *feel* it is. It's boring, competent, and imitative. It's not nearly as good as the original's visuals. Period. No matter how bad you want to believe you experience some cinematic landmark, your emotions don't make it so.

There are 10s of movies that have just as competent/unremarkable visuals every year. Deal with it.

someone clearly didnt watch the film

If Wallace is that powerful, then he shouldn't have to kill anyone to get what he wants from the police force. But hey, don't let me stop you from making excuses for this movie's bad writing.

dumb vagueposter

It was pretty good, actually. Could have been better if:

1. Shitcanned Robin Wright and replaced her with a dude. She fucking sucked, and her take on a hard drinking cop was awful. Looked more like a lesbian playing make believe.

2. Shitcanned the bitch replicant as the antagonist and replaced her with an actually intimidating male combat model replicant. This could have been the role for Batista, the Rock, or any actually intimidating male. Having the climactic fight between K and, essentially, a bitch that looks like she should be selling perfume, was just dumb, and looked stupid on film.

3. Shitcanned Harrison Ford. He stopped caring about being a good actor decades ago, and is now just acting like Harrison Ford acting like Harrison Ford.

Gossling did a good job, and the story wasn't bad, though.

Paul blart and amy shumer in drag

*blocks your oscar*

I did. I'm not all that impressed by its cinematography. It's pretty, sure, but that's all good cinematography seems to be for you people. Lots of teal and orange. Very slick. Not a touch on the original.

They tried to turn a cult classic into a box office hit.
Plebified a masterpiece with a reddit cast.

Seriously, did anyone expect this to be good ?

all in all: 10/10

I mostly agree. Ford should stay, though, if only for the plot to work.
Shitcan Leto instead and the movie wouldn't lose much.
And the scene where Ford is transported to a colony to get tortured. Makes no sense.

Deakins would laugh at your post you /r/movies buff

Do you not understand what power is? Why would he bother going through proper channels or dealing with red tape like a pleb when he could just get what he wanted instantly by sending Luv?

Besides, it was just unfortunate that the morgue guy happened to interrupt her (she didn't set out to kill him). His death was inconsequential, Wallace still got what he wanted (and quickly) and even though the LAPD chief knew Luv & Wallace killer her man, she couldn't do anything about it. Wallace, his company & minions are untouchable.

The movie's writing is fine, it's your inability to think & fill in details that's the problem.

>>/rk9/

>Ford should stay, though, if only for the plot to work.
Could have subbed his character out for the girl, dude.

Leto was pretty cringy, agree.

>Shitcan Leto instead and the movie wouldn't lose much

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought. I like a lot of his early roles but nowadays it seems like he’s trying way too hard.

2049 looks like a lot of modern films but BR really stands out in its era.

nothing, they took a decent 80s flick, kept the pseudo flavor with the entry level questions, expanded the world and absolutely went balls deep with the visuals, obtaining a pretty good flick

your second point forgets about the shitty characters who are not even redeemable

Luv was kind of shit but I liked Robin Wright. Just the right amount of camp in the right place.

Nah. If a normal girl kicks ass, is normal to lose suspension of disbelief.
But this is not what is happening in the movie, because that is not a normal woman.
That one is woman issues: the post

>Why would he bother going through proper channels or dealing with red tape like a pleb when he could just get what he wanted instantly by sending Luv?
To avoid pointlessly murdering people. That tends to get people upset.
>Besides, it was just unfortunate that the morgue guy happened to interrupt her (she didn't set out to kill him). His death was inconsequential,
She's killing off people that work for the state. I think that would upset the institution and turn it against Wallace.
> Wallace still got what he wanted (and quickly) and even though the LAPD chief knew Luv & Wallace killer her man, she couldn't do anything about it. Wallace, his company & minions are untouchable.
Which is pretty goofy and part of why this film isn't as serious as people like to think.
>The movie's writing is fine, it's your inability to think & fill in details that's the problem.
It's my inability to make excuses for everything that seems contrived and lazily written in a supposed modern masterpiece.

It's infinitely better than the original. Literally the only thing the first has over it is the questions it presents

>Which is pretty goofy
How in the fuck is that goofy. It's more goofy that they've colonized worlds so fast

You don't have a kid, do you? I do.

>you need a babysitter no matter how long the movie is; you can't just leave your toddler unattended for 90 minutes
>not always; a short mental break is nice and sometimes we eat before we leave to save money because, hey, got a kid and that shit's expensive
>what theater in America doesn't have parking? small theaters in small towns like where I grew up, but these are not the places that sell out where parking is a problem
>these are 3 hours I cherished

Worth the price.

I MISSED IMAX VIEWING! FUCK!

>Tfw I still have a full week of IMAX where I live

>Which is pretty goofy
Is from posts like this you understand that the critics to this movie are from pretentious retards that think they are smart.
>cyberpunk setting
>omnipotent corporation
yeah, totally out of the blue.

and those questions were asked long before the first one existed so its really is pointless

It's something out of a Marvel movie. Honestly, I feel like even a Marvel movie would have some kind of a follow up if a villain's henchman was going into government buildings repeatedly and murdering people.

A better film that didn't pander to a mass audience would have handled that in just as much time and with much more finesse. Instead we have a Terminatrix who can just go anywhere and kill people with no consequence. Why not just make the police work for Wallace at that point?
>It's more goofy that they've colonized worlds so fast
I can accept that as part of the conceit. It's not our future anyway.

>tfw pop 5 minutes down the road any night I want to the most sparse, comfy showing possible

Nothing
>was good enough to be remembered as a classic for a long time to come
>didn't do well enough to warrant a cash in sequel, but well enough to justify more of this kind of sci fi

maybe in another 30 years we'll get a sequel to watch with our children

>kino
that doesn't mean anything

you just KNOW

>Is from posts like this you understand that the critics to this movie are from pretentious retards that think they are smart.
The pretentious critics liked this dog of a movie for the most part.
>cyberpunk setting
>omnipotent corporation
That's not what I'm criticizing. Ever see how corporations work? They get what they want through bureaucracy, and if they have to kill people, they do it on the sly.

>It's not our future anyway.
Exactly. Wallace is obviously a fucking powerful man in the movie. It's not that hard to think that he could easily cover something like 2 deaths up. You literally wanna be spoonfed here. It's completely possible that Joshi was someone who wasn't corruptable and was actually her own boss while everyone else would say nothing for a bit of cash

Women "fighting" men looks stupid on camera regardless of whether or not they're supposed to be a replicant.

It's like watching children try to fight adults. It's just dumb.

>Seriously, what went wrong?

Not much. Just because people would rather see Fast and Furious 500 or Transformers 1 billion doesn't make them good, nor does people not flocking to this make it bad.

Unironically the best sequel ever made

>The pretentious critics liked this dog of a movie for the most part.
not an argument. I don't care about the critics, but you are a pretentious idiot that does not put a second thought about things, not even basic one like genre, and thinks that is smart.
>That's not what I'm criticizing. Ever see how corporations work? They get what they want through bureaucracy, and if they have to kill people, they do it on the sly.
Case in point. This is not typical of the genre and, self evident, not the case of BR.

What if Luv was killing people just for kicks or something. She even tells Joshi that she can explain her death to Wallace as a self-defense.

Infinitely better? LMFAO. You’re so fucking stupid. People will forget about 2049 within a couple years and it will win very few awards. Stuoid.

This is the post of someone I expect to fap to that picture.
