You never asked

The only Bond worth watching is Connery, Dalton and Brosnan.

>Franchise has been popular since the 60s
>it must have been terrible in the 60s

logic

i was too busy posting about how totally bitchin' the superhero movie is

Because it’s common knowledge.

Didn’t know I needed to spoonfeed you.

You can stop watching after the first couple Roger Moore Bonds though. I got a soft spot for Golden Gun just for Christopher Lee.

I love that 60s aesthetic and when bond was a based misogynist

...

This is about James Bond not Jason Bourne.

When you say Brosnan I assume you mean just Goldeneye. Because Jesus Brosnan’s other films are messes which is a crying shame as he was a tremendous Bond.

Its good, but the older bonds have a great, clunky old movie charm that I love

Interesting opinion because Golden Gun is an extremely slow and turgid affair.

That Bond is a joyless Terminator.

I agree, I just like a Christopher Lee.

Was it consensual?

Kill yourselves.

I just watched all the Brosnan ones last weekend and I gotta say...Die Another Day wasn't that bad. Yeah, it was retarded as fuck, the Madonna song was the worst, Halle Berry was kind of a dud (like usual), the CGI was really bad, etc. etc. BUT I came away finding it more enjoyable than Tomorrow Never Dies. TND just fell flat on almost every level for me. I love Jonathan Pryce, I loved that Michelle Yeoh was cutting it up, Gotz Otto and Ricky fucking Jay were in it! But it might be the least enjoyable out of the 4.

it's not a secret

It's a great Bond, but you'll be disappointed if you expect it to be anything like the Connery Bonds.

Goldfinger > Russia > Diamonds Are Forever > Dr. No > You Only Live Twice > Thunderball

Goldeneyw is still the best Bond film, but all other Brosnan Bonds sucked. From Russia With Love and Goldfinger are are both amazing, so Connery is better overall. Moore can lick my ass. Dalton was the best Bond, but his movies were mediocre. Skyfall was okay, but otherwise Craig and his films were shit.

Watched Living Daylights, the Brosnan ones, and the Craig ones. I haven't seen the Connery or Moore ones (or Lazenby) in years, but so far Dalton is my favorite Bond. Craig's just kind of a meh cipher, nothing really going on except brooding and a smirk every now and then. Brosnan was alright but he just seemed super serious and his humorousness fell flat.

Thunderball is legitimate kino and the best Connery.

>why didn't you tell me the sun is bright

Bond fan here:

From Russia With Love > Dr No > Thunderball > Goldfinger > You Only Live Twice > Diamonds Are Forever

> not liking The Spy Who Loved Me

>Craig
Casino Royale > Skyfall > Quantum of Solace = Spectre = mouthful of potato flakes

>Brosnan
Goldeneye >>> The World is Not Enough > Tomorrow Never Dies = Die Another Day = biting down on a chicken bone

He was great in Thomas Crowne Affair and Mrs. Doubtfire wouldn't have been as good without him.

Spectre was insulting. Every Bond fan should hate this film.

Spectre copying the twist to Austin Powers 3 still upsets me. I pray Bond 26 just severs that Blofeld bullshit entirely as a bad fever dream.

I am currently rewatching the whole Bond series, or rather, I am watching almost all for the first time. Its fun to watch them all in a row and then compare your own unbiased opinion to general consenus, contemorary reviews and such. I have to say that it turns out so far I hold pretty heretical views.

>Goldfinger
I really disliked that movie other than the villain. Bond has almost no agency throughout the film and every he does is completely inconsequential. He only succeeds by turning Pussy Galore to his side through the power of his cock. Pass

>From Russia with Love
this one is actually in my top three so far, probably the best Connery Bond movie, has the best actual spy thriller vibe. generally I find the Connery ones pretty dry

>Majestys Secret Service
this one would actually be really good if it wasn't for Lazenby. I really disliked his Bond. He has by far the best Bond girl so far, which makes it feel like even more of waste

>Thunderball
I heard that this one is supposed to be really boring but I can't understand it. I thought it was really entertaining and the underwater scenes were very creative and interesting to watch

>The Man with the Golden Gun
probably my favorite so far, which prompted my comment. has the right amount of entertaining and funny. I enjoy the whacky seventies atmosphere in this one. Lee and his dwarf are also pretty good.

It's really a shame that they decided to cap off the Craig run (for now at least) with that shit. They could've introduced a Tracy Bond character, but we got another who-gives-a-fuck Bond girl. They could've made Spectre seem menacing, instead we got half a scene with a shadowy meeting and the quickest fucking destruction of a villain compound in the whole series. They could've picked a really compelling opening song, instead we got a fucking remix of K-Ci and JoJo's "All My Life".

Just so many missteps. At least they stayed with the Brosnan trend by using the 4th movie to give the fans a big middle finger.

dr no: doesnt even feel like bond, pleasant because of this
from russia with love: okay, nothing special
goldfinger: overrated, it's barely okay
thunderball: boring shit
the one with the gooks: dumb shit, kinda fun
the one with lazenby: a bit better, okay but the fanboys screaming masterpiece are delusional
what a pleb franchise when even the best movies are utterly mediocre and can be counted on the fingers of one hand, while 95% of the others (moore especially) are just complete trash

Hopefully they undo that shit in B25! Otherwise my enthusiasm for it will fall drastically. It also doesn't help Waltz's Blofeld was a huge miss too, sucks. He should have ran with it.

Go back to Transformers kid

...

Ugh yeah. Totally spot on. I suggest watching these reviews on SP, they nail everything wrong with it including what you mentioned:

>Dalton

Underrated as fuck. It took a long ass time for the audience to see that vulnerable Bond again after Dalton's portrayal.

youtu.be/LfjL9uX2leg literally the best bond film.

Moore is essential you pleb.
Tomorrow Never Dies is great and has a fantastic villain

Because they were never all that good at all, you're just a rabid peasant.

try gender realist

Moonraker is my favorite. But I haven't seen Thunderball, so I'll watch that next.

Imo Moonraker is the best. It's a bit tongue-in-cheek with the humour (and the plot).
Thunderball has a few moments but the underwater parts are too loud and boring. No wonder they remade it.

sad thing is dalton was received very well and planned to be in more movies, but a five year drought over movie rights saw him leaving.

Have never seen the old ones
Where do I start

Nobody creams over dubs no more!
Just start at the beginning with Dr. No
It's a bit meh but From Russia with Love onwards is mostly entertaining.

007 need upgrade for current time, spectre is the proof of that. while skyfall just tribute to old movies.

kek, pretty accurate.

moonraker is mega-super-elder-god-tier

The only people holding James Bond back are those Broccoli cunts. They're the ones who have a strangle hold on the franchise, making sure each film has a completely asinine action sequence with British humour.

It's really telling that the two best modern Bond films, Goldeneye and Casino Royale were both directed by the same person.

the only thing Skyfall is a tribute to is The Dark Knight

I'm always telling you cunts.

In fairness I feel the first 3 Bond films are 3 of the best. Dr. No and From Russia With Love should be in anyone's top 5 if not top 3.

...

What is all this Dr. No meming in this thread about?

That movie was very slow and dry and awkward and the series obviously was still trying to find itself.

...

Could someone who doesn't like the Roger Moore films explain why? After Connery they are my favorites. I mean they were abit kitsch tho

they're fucking dumb like you

The Spy Who Loves Me is one of the greatest Bond films ever.

I've only made it through the latter 8 movies so far, but from what I remember this is pretty on point.

Best Bond, Best Bond movie, Best Bond girl, Best Bond soundtrack

That's not Timothy Dalton
