Why is this series so bad?

Why is this series so bad?

And can it be fixed?

No. It's beyond saving

Just change the artist, writer and premise and it is pretty easily saved.

Fundamentally out of touch premise. Characters are too far removed from what makes them work well in their originating series.

It's too close to Black Mask comics or Pic related, and that shit is severely oversaturated as it is.

>And can it be fixed?
Better off just trying with a new team and new property.

Give it to Loveness, he can write fun teens.

Best way to end the series is to undo all the stuff they did with harsh reality. Those girls they rescued in chapter 1? They all either went back to that life, or had a hard time adjusting and are now having problems. Those Atlanteans they fought? Now they're considered traitors or failures for messing up an international op, and were kicked out and have a vendetta. The Girls they saved in Pakistan? Dead. The whole thing with the Freelancers? they either get away with it or end up getting a slap on the wrist at worst due to legal loopholes.

But that won't happen because its too real an issue for the series dealing with real issues.

Asian Hulk should be called SPHulk. He should grow stronger the more sph he gets. His muscles and body will keep getting bigger but his pathetic Asian penis will stay tiny making it look smaller and smaller, which will make people laughing at him laugh even harder and thus increasing his strength.

B y any chance, are you the lunatic who keeps comissioning peter parker porn with tiny dicks?

No got a link tho?

>can it be fixed

Replace current Mark Waid with 90's Mark Waid.

Probably getting relaunched sept.

The new avengers perhaps.

Go away, Kbox

Simple. Make it about the Champions team that survived Contest of Champions. They're much more interesting than this SJW bullshit

The series is bad because Waid can't write children and he clearly doesn't have an editor.

You fix it by putting a writer in that knows how to write for children.

the problem with this book is the same problem they have with the inhumans. Marvel acted like we asked for it when no one did, then decided to ram it down our throat.

This. The team could work under a much better creative team.

>Why is this series so bad?
Because it's written by a 55 year old man-child trying to be "hip" and "with the kids" when even when he WAS a kid, he wasn't hip or with the kids. The whole thing comes off as the worst kind of cringey try-hard bullshit as a result.

You can do a serious book about superheroes dealing with societal problems rather than immediate threats, even if the superheroes are naive teenagers. You can do a book for kids about superteens fighting crime. Champions makes the mistake of trying to do both at the same time and doing poorly with both.

There are two ways to fix it. Either drop the social activism angle and turn it into Basically Another X-Men Team Book or actually flesh it out instead of just using it for set dressing. I would legitimately read a series about the Champions having to work to get attention instead of their hashtag going viral by the end of the first issue. Or they get into a fight with an internet pundit who's spreading bad press about them, or they make alliances with other groups (which most activism groups have to do at some point) that may or may not work out. Hell, I'd settle for the team having a concrete focus than just 'wherever assholes dwell, we'll be there'.

>their hashtag going viral by the end of the first issue.

I never read this book is it really based around hashtags?

No one gives a shit about "social issues". I want to see them fight real enemies, not a bunch Captain Planet villains rejects.

Waid used Hashtags to do the "world finds out about the team" stuff. and said to use the hashtag irl instead of letters pages because that's how things work now

It can. Just reveal them to be possessed by the spirit of Extreme Liberalism, and reveal the Freelancers to be possessed by the spirit of Extreme Conservatism. Have someone (Strange? Ghost Rider?) exorcise them of those spirits, who then start to destroy everything around them as they fight each other. So now everyone has to get together and defeat the spirits... only for the spirits to say that as long as there are stupid political people, they will always exist.

Is this the series that had Ms. Akbar bitching at a group of capes because they weren't attempting to repair train tracks with their powers, rather than leave it to professional engineers like intelligent heroes?

It shows up whenever Waid needs to remind us that the team is socially relevant. So... the first issue and the most recent one.

That's another thing that a well-written series would have to fix. Running social media is hard. A proper group would have someone in the supporting cast who just manages social media and does damage control whenever shit like the Freelancers happen.

>Ramos drawing SPH art

>someone (Strange? Ghost Rider?)
Yes, Ghost Driver. Seems like it'd be fair for him to at least appear in Chulk's book after Chulk ruined his book.

Give it to the guys doing Nova when that book gets cancelled.

Yes, perfect.

Once they're all purged and free from the political spirits, they'll return to their regular personalities and realize how much of chodes they've been, and go about their own way of doing things in a less stupid manner.

Sounds good.

It's pretty fucked up that the team of bad guys they're up against are more interesting.

It would work if it acted as a parody of the millennial savior mentality, and slow have the characters grow out of #virtuesignalling to focus on real heroics.

His Nova book is the best Marvel book out right now, I mean God, it's fucking fun as all hell.
