Literally why did he kill Snoke?

Literally why did he kill Snoke?

Because no one understood or cared about that villian so Disney wanted him discarded.

Because the producers were afraid of having a competent or cool villain because the rest of the movie was so shit everyone would latch on to him.

To piss off fans

Why she pulled her hand out? what if Kylo spinned that saber and cut of her hand?

Yeah, I thought they were going to elevate Hux and have him emerge as an actual threat. You know, kind of like Tarkin but with a bit more pompousness and a bit more kinship with his men.

Instead we got your mom jokes.

Because he wanted to be in full control

Also because they didn't actually know what to do with his character.

Daisy is unbelievably cute in this scene, I mean holy shit man.

Who cares? Snoke sucked. I hated the Last Jedi but this wasn't why. You fanboys are ridiculous. Killing Snoke was one of the few things done right in this piece of shit.

because he doesn't want to get his waifu hurt

>Let's create a villain, but not introduce him or anything.
>Holy shit no one cares.
>Let's kill him and stuff in the next movie!

I am thrilled, amazed, and amused by the sheer incompetence of Disney that would make a baby playing with ketchup sauce a master of its craft in comparison.

In fact, the babbling baby playing with ketchup is an apt comparison. It's not like it's a beloved multi-billion franchise or anything, let's give it to this 2 years old who has no idea what he is doing.

because thats how it goes. the apprentice kills the master.

Because Snoke was too manipulative, was fucking with Kylo the whole movie, and Kylo saw his chance to rule the First Order.

the alternative is having another emperor who's not as cool for another movie. is that what you REALLY want?

>most powerful force user ever
>dark side aligned
>somehow stayed under the radar during Sheev's reign and emerged as his fucking successor after the disintegration of the empire
>mfw none of this is expanded upon
>mfw nothing in this movie makes any fucking sense at all
>mfw they kill Snoke early on because they realize that if they actually told the story of how he became the leader of the imperial remnant, it would be more interesting than the SJW shit

It all makes sense now.

Snoke was a cis white male.

The overall costs of producing this movie was over 400 millions (including marketing, production and so on). I am wondering how it came that the script was such a shitshow. Carrie Fisher was fucking alive when this was written. She was a script doctor. Had anyone showed it to her or any other competent dude before filming. So many plot holes, obviously bad scenes, unrealistic character's motivation and massive fuckyou to old characters. Why haven't anyone stopped Rian Johnson and straightened his fucking "vision"?

Pay attention to the mooks on the right. They arent hitting anything.

>Spent first movie as a hologram
>3 or 4 scenes in next movie and dies

I can imagine a future where "Disney Villain" is a colloquial term for a flat, non-threatening, undeveloped, easily defeated nobody.

Except nobody wants him, he commands no respect from anybody, and he's basically a gigantic fucking faggot that doesn't know what he's doing. His stewardship of the First Order is a forgone conclusion and he should know this, but he's such a gigantic fucking retard that he actually thinks he can take the place of someone who has (presumably) been planning this shit for generations.

Vader knew his role and fit into the power structure nicely, Kylo is a fucking idiot that should've been shot in a ditch after his failure to kill some dumb broad in the first movie.

Because they introduced a vilian and the next guy had no idea what to do with him ,so he just killed him off.

>Andy Serkis: "Snoke is not a Sith."
>Kylo (after killing Snoke): "It's time for the Sith to end."

Confirmed males.

>Interesting

>Wow guys here's this literal who from literal when who did literal what. Isn't he cool and badass? Let's spend the 2 hours we have giving shit exposition for a character that is simply a plot device.

Why is everybody on Sup Forums so thickheaded when it comes to movie making man, I think them killing off Snoke was perfect and it set up Kylo (the actual important character) for a great character arc which is him killing off all of the nostalgic shit.

Because its a huge middle finger to that (((hack))) Abrams for coming up with something this retarded and derivative in the first place.

And that's why its great.

Because he was his true enemy

>nobody cared
>multiple videos on youtube with 4+ million views

wat

Snoke had fans?

Jesus, that's a massive fuck up. They are a headless chicken running to grab a some nostalgia fan cash. At least now I am even more respectful to Lucas. He definitely had mapped the whole overall story before he started filming.

>that guard on the right who slowly walks up

Uh

I said the story would have been more interesting than the shitheap we got if they actually bothered to explain how someone took control of the imperial remnant.

Kylo was saying that about himself. He idolized Vader and old Sith lords. He's saying he's done with that shit.

Just saw the film and she is indeed a fine young lady

was kylo trying to also cut himself in half

>videos on youtube with 4+ million views

And? Half the point of Kylo's character is that he is a big fuck up at everything.

Snoke was a danger to him

They didn't truly kill him retards, He will use the force to return in some form, possibly in another body.

He was the first Jedi and has survived thousands of years for a reason

...

>not as cool

says you

I don't want to watch a movie where the antagonist presents no credible threat to anybody.

>Im wrong, time to post reaction pictures!

It would've been when the previous 8 movies didn't exist.
But with them you have a literal who out of fucking nowhere being the supreem leader and nobody ever mentions anything about him.
Fuck, just a sentence or two that he was some hidden pupil of palpatine would've been enough, still retarded but better then nothing and give Snoke justification for him being where he was.

>every question in TFA will be answered in TLJ
>TLJ shits on everyhting and causes more questions to pop up
>every question will be answered in IX

You lost and are too dense to see it.

Not that I'm defending these movies, but I thought the OT was also not really planned beyond A New Hope or at least they didn't thought of having the new movies be a direct sequel with the same characters.

Hate to break it to you, but Star Wars was intended to be a stand-alone movie.

He didn't lose, he just wants to see where it all ends, it's not math son, new questions can arise.

...

Snoke was a nothing character. His Praetorians wete more interesting than him. Good riddance.

Why even bother having him? TLJ was pointless from beginning to end.

KEK

iirc Gerorge had the general outline for the OT and PT already back in the day, but could only do the OT since the stuff he wanted for the PT wasn't possible back then.
And even then he just wasn't sure if he gets to make more movies after the first one.
Here we have the first movie and nothing beyond it.

Right now. Disney is wayyyyyyyyyy more dangerous than Snoke could ever be

>literal who
This is what everyone is saying you dumbfuck. You don't place emphasis on a character as was done in TFA and TLJ if you don't plan to flesh him out at all

Did you see his Goldmember outfit? I'm Pretty sure he is the first gay Star Wars Character.

If 4 million views on youtube means something has value to you then you're a fucking idiot.

>Snoke
Who?

This is so ridiculously inexcusable
I get it if it’s some one off film and it turns out surprisingly well so they decide to make more
But this was always marketed as a new trilogy right from the start

sheev was the same dunderhead

More like "why the fuck they killed phasma again after they hyped-up the character with the novel"

what a shit choregraphy

Nobody in the scene is hitting anything

This movie seems terrible

Is it really this hard?
Kylo Ren was in inner conflict, his parents had died within mere days. He feels like now he is becoming his own master. Snoke puts him down, says he needs to get rid of this idea that he will fullfill his grandfather's destiny. He also says that he has total controll over him now and merely fooled Kylo and Rey with the force connection. Kylo snaps.
He wants to become his own master finally, he's done with people talking shit, angry that Snoke played him and generally very emotionally unstable. He literally does not want anybody to tell him what to do anymore. Kill of the past to live in the now.
Therefore he kills snoke, so he and Rey can rule the galaxy as equals, not this sith jedi stuff. He does not want to stay at Snokes side like Darth Vader being the emperor's puppy. He's seen how Snoke's favour can change.

I can tell your nationality by the shit you post.

the guys on the left look like they're doing a musical

Merchandizing. This way they can make another supervillain (let's just call them Darth Evil), and thus sell both Snoke and Evil merchandise.

How the fuck is this an argument you low IQ subhuman faggot. The Force Awakens wasn't designed to be a standalone movie yet they still didn't even have a vague idea where to take things next? I'm genuinely flabbergasted at this tweet.

it's a joke, screencap this, next movie she will show up to just die again.

what a messy looking choreography. it must have taken.....months??

It helps that she is basically being raped by an old man using the force.

I fucking laughed at this.

But now I sort of respect RJ more. If I were in his position I would have made the whole movie a giant middle finger too.

Because Snoke wasn't the main villain, and he was holding Kylo back by being a manipulatice power-hungry Sith Lord when all Kylo had to do was kill him in order to gain total power over TFO.
Why do people insist Snoke has to be the last boss? Killing him takes the trilogy in a fresh new direction.

Because he wanted to take his place as Supreme Leader. Are you people retarded?

People don't like it, when the obvious doesn't happen.

But what about his training? 7 & 8 are less than 72 hours apart.

>Fuck your training. I'm powerful enough to kill you what else could you teach me?
Sounds like a solid Sith mentality to me

Why did a snoke just pop reys head the second he saw her?

Most people didn't even care that he died, they are just angry that we never got any fucking info about him and he went out like a bitch.
Fags could have cut 5 minutes out of the pointless casino subplot to at least give hints of who the fuck he is and have him fight Kylo and Rey.
Wasn't the point of the Royal Guard fight to show how strong Kylo and Rey could be if they joined forces? Wow, so when they are together they are strong enough to job against a bunch of non-Force users with meme weapons. Why not have them defeat Snoke in a duel instead? If they overpowered the guy implied to be as strong as Sheev it would have been the perfect way to show the potential of a Kylo+Rey team up.

You know what, now that I think about it, I do not know.

>Why is everybody on Sup Forums so thickheaded when it comes to movie making man
If think you just gave yourself the answer.

People wanted to know who Snoke was because he was such an awful character. They could have spent a movie or two fleshing him out but for what purpose, just to have Emperor 2.0? No, I hated this film, but killing Snoke like this was a good call. Killing the past = killing the old tropes of the OT.

We never got any information about the Emperor until the PT came out. It's Star Wars, Snoke's another one of hundreds of evil emperors who uses the dark side for power and to kill Jedi. I'm really not sure what people need to know about the guy, even the EU makes it clear that people like this pop up all the time. The point of killing him is to acknowledge and move on from that, I'm not sure what satisfaction there is to be had from knowing if he was a hidden Sith Lord or if he's an upstart one.

nigga they didnt give any exposition about him. he just appears as supreme leader and dies as supreme leader in the following movie. meanwhile, he apparently accomplishes everything palpatine did, thus returning the galaxy to its 'status quo' of rebels vs empire despite the rebel alliance logically being bigger than ever following episode 7

I liked it, the whole point of the movie was that pupils should take things further, they say that about Rey going to save everyone but in the end Kylo was the one to do what Sith apprendices do, killed his master and went further than Vader ever could by seizing control of the First Order.

Okay guess and no doxxing

If we don't know who Snoke is, what his strengths and flaws are, then what's the point of Kylo killing him? What does that add to either character?

If they were going for the RotJ rip-off they should have gone all the way. Make Kylo turn good and kill Snoke to save Rey, only he was too late and Rey died anyway.
Then Ep9 is Kylo vs Hux, giving the two good actors the leading roles and removing all the shit characters.

oj so you really wanted him right at out of the chair and do some flips, huh? Snoke's power is deception, he said so in this movie and the last one, he's not a duelist or an acrobat. They simply defeated him at his own game. he didn't really need a duel, especially since we immediately got one afterwards with his guards.

>Because they introduced a vilian and the next guy had no idea what to do with him ,so he just killed him off.

How does literally everybody have a better idea of what to do with Snoke then the guy that got to decide?

>projects his form

They're literally using Luke's astral projection bullshit to set up the plot twist in episode IX where Snoke was really just an astral projection the whole time.

We know Snoke is a deceptive traditional Sith Lord, and Kylo betraying him shows his desire to move past the Jedi vs Sith conflicts of the past. Not only does this let Kylo overcome Snoke's manipulative and abusive power over him, but it also shows that Kylo is highly interested in creating a new world instead of just being part of the old Jedi and Sith one. Kylo moves past this by killing Snoke, and taking The First Order into his own hands so he may forge a Galaxy of his choosing instead of doing so as part of the Sith plan.

yeah but what is his midichlorian count

Because it was supposed to be a "shocking" moment for dramatic purposes even though it makes no sense within the story.

They don't, notice how this thread is full of people who literally don't understand and can't explain the events of the movie, who are using their own confusion and misunderstanding as if it's evidence that there are no reasons to any of the actions in the movie. People would have a point if they could say anything except 'I don't know,I guess it was nothing and Disney literally forgot to write this movie, because they're dumb or whatever'.

Stop with that retarded "Sheev didn't have a backstory in the OT" argument. Sheev didn't show up out of nowhere after 6 movies that clearly established that there were only a handful of Force users in the galaxy, much less Force users as strong as Sheev.
You can't have a new Emperor show up out of nowhere 30 years after RotJ and not expect people to get bothered when you won't even explain how did he got there.

Yeah if you completely ignore Kylo Ren, who has more character development than any Star Wars villain in history. "The big bad" has been told a million times before, I'm glad they spat in the face of that shitty trope.

He hated Snoke. Even though he's not Sith, he's completed his training.
Perhaps he saved Rey for the wrong reasons.

Also, if Snoke was Plaguis, he's not dead.
Or clone?

>Snoke power was deception
And reading minds.
And using telekinesis to hold Mary Sues in the air and torture them.
And Force lighting.
And creating bonds between people that allow them to Force Skype with each other.
And he was a swordman too because side-material mentions he trained both Kylo and his guards.

The emperor didn't get fleshed out until much later. The same will happen with Snoke.
