Lets discuss 6Teen.
As slice of life shows about teenagers in a mall go, this one certainly was....harmless.

What a strong and interesting opinion you have there. Really helps to get the conversation going when you put forth such clear and well-defined point of view.
in my sincere opinion this show wasn't very good at all.
but I also though Total Drama Island was horseshit when there are people on this board who swear that's its great so what do I know. I think I was too old by the time this stuff was airing for me to care about it. If I was like 12 when this shit was airing maybe I wouldn't have known any better and developed fond childhood memories of it
Was there ever an episode that didn't take place inside the mall? It's been forever since I've seen this show.
Never really liked the show but the theme some is forever stuck in the deepest part of my brain
I think there was a wedding that happened at a house for a scene, but besides that, all mall all the time.
Song*
>mfw the show only ended in 2010 and teenagers hanging out at the mall is already now an outdated concept
FUCK OFF
MODS DELETE THIS THREAD PLEASE
GOD I HATE 6TEEN, MORE LIKE 6SHIT
>Marry, Fuck, Kill
I’ve never watched this show
Canadian shows are pretty much always terrible. This goes well beyond Sup Forums, BTW. Canadian screenwriters in particular are simply talentless hacks almost without exception.
Where do they hang out now?
6Teen is literally bad cartoon kino. It's the best of all bad cartoons.
OPINIONS REGARDING A SHOW BEING MIDDLE OF THE ROAD ARE INVALID
ALL OPINIONS ABOUT SOMETHING MUST BE EITHER THAT IT IS GOD TIER OR SHIT BECAUSE THAT IS HOW THINGS WORK ON THE INTERNET
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AVERAGE ARGHGVREJSDYHFJKSEHBNFLAZ
samefag
Beastwars would like to have a word with you.
It was a good friend simulator.
Anywhere you can smoke cigarettes, weed, and drink alcohol.
Behind malls, silly!
I like to think they all stopped being friends after high school
malls were dying in 2003, dude.
This is because it's an industry in Canada. The Canadian Film Bureau gives tax credit and funding to basically anyone that makes anything that involves Canada, even if only somewhat tangentially. It results in a lot of people basically milking it to make shitty shows/movies, to the point that there's a general industry that's expanded to the point that companies can just buy low-quality animation for cheap.
You're actually fucking retarded. Kindly kill yourself kid.
Remember how Jen flashed large groups of people in like 3 different episodes
Remember how Nicky once became an assistant manager and had to wear a tag that said ASS MAN
Remember that openly gay cowboy character who won jonesey in an auction
Oh canadian cartoons, you make me smile
I liked 6Teen, but damn hanging out at the mall was already a dying thing when the show first aired
Facebook and Twitter.
That's cropped porn, isn't it?
I mean there's no law in Canada saying women have to wear tops in public
there were scenes that took place outside it, like when Nikki shat all over Jonsie's bathroom
Sigh, not this shit again. YES, but they fucking HAVE to! There would be NO industry at all without it. The problem isn't the government, the problem is Canada itself, specifically the lack of distinction from the US.
Canadian shows were a lot better in the 90s.
This
Still not particularly good, though the quality took a deep nosedive in the 2000s for sure. Quite the opposite of the US!
Why try when the gubment will make it rain every time you shart out an episode of Johnny Test?
This shit will never fly today in a kid's cartoon
It's not the government, read this:
It's a problem on both sides
And any Canadian worth his salt would work for a bigger studio in the US regardless, more opportunities and less taxes
Theres no law like that in most parts of the US as well, actually
I seriously doubt those episodes aired in america
What gave it away, the fact that the girls are clearly topless below the bold text?
That's literally what I said, except no, it's not a problem on both sides. The US is clearly superior.
Cool.
It's most certainly not cool if you're not a dual citizen and are thus trapped in Canada with shit opportunities.
I'm never gonna remember fun times like this when I graduate because im a socially awkward loser neet.
IIRC those episodes were either edited, skipped,or just assinged a TV-PG-S rating here in the states
not enough poop scenes
6Teen was fucking average, shit reminds me of CN's dark age back in '08-09 where the network was overloaded with shitty canadian cartoons and live action shit
you only get government funding if the cartoon you're making is made in Quebec and bilingual and Johnny test was made by some underpaid animators in Vancouver
funny enough pic related was government funded
Still better than fucking Tumblr Universe, though.
If you aren't a talentless hack getting a job in the US is piss easy
It really is the Canadian government's fault for driving away anyone worth a damn
Jude is maybe the most attracted I've been so an animated man
One time he stayed up for like 2 days just to talk to an Australian chick, 2pure
Frogshit doesn't count. Quebec may as well be a separate country desu senpai.
It's virtually impossible because you need to already have like decades of experience in the field - but how can you get that, no matter how good you are, if there are essentially NO FUCKING JOBS!?
I know but said that the government would give money to anyone that makes a cartoon even though it's only Quebec
You know damn well that Caitlin was best girl
Must explain why Quebec leeches 11 billion dollars from the federal government every year with Ontario in second place at 1 billion
Fucking garbage ass province, bilingualism was a mistake
...
It's not just Quebec, but only Quebec is apparently able to use the money well.
How did CN go from acquiring dope ass shows like Yu Yu Hakusho in 2002 to acquiring shit like 6Teen in 2008?
the Aqua Teen Marketing fiasco in Boston back during 2007.
So "dope ass" that I've never so much as heard of the title before?
Wait, youve never heard of Yu Yu hakusho, that was like one of the networks biggest animes back in 2003-2004.
Dude I know fuck about anime and even I've heard of Yu Yu Hakusho
It's the one with the red haired guy with a pompadour and one time they beat up a crossdressing guy or some shit
>anime
Yes, they were.
...
The zombie apocalypse episode was pretty decent.
How the fuck do you make a cartoon with THREE teen girl MCs, but none of them attractive enough for waifu status? And don't say it's Flash, SVTFOE alone proves that excuse is bullshit. Fucking leafs!
>balloon tits
Ruined
That was the first one I saw
Canadian cartoons used to be good.
The main reason cartoons are shit in Canada is because they don't put enough money into it to actually get talented people.
No money = bad cartoons.
All the people that want to work in the cartoon industry move to the USA.
How's this then?
>SVTFOE
I always thought that was the first one that aired and it confused the hell out of me since I didn't know who any of the characters were.
...
It's not about the money, it's about the culture of the industry (and country!) and the impact it makes
???
...
They had a hospital episode
It's literally about the money, there's more of it in the US
This fapfic is a lot more racist then I'd thought it would be.
hentai-foundry.com
6teen was animated in Toon Boom actually
People don't care as much about money as you think they do, user, especially when both options are solidly middle class for the most part.
Some pretty good art came out of that Woman of the Month thing.
This is trippy. I don't think I've seen this show in such a high/sharp quality before.
>Yu Yu Hakusho
I know about this anime- but this made me remember how I was disappointed because my internet friends told about all the anime that was airing in the USA that we didn't get in Canada.
And now I'm sad knowing that we don't even get anime, or even adult live action shows on YTV anymore.
Except the middle class in Canada can easily pay over 45% income tax
>80+ replies
>no lewd
The tax difference is greatly exaggerated, largely due to mathematical misunderstandings. Look it up
Do you even read, user?
Thanks, I'll let the government know next time they want half of my fucking income
The hot french girl was my favorite, too bad she was a one shot character.
CN doesnt air anime here in the us anymore.
Man I miss the old days when anime was on in the afternoons and saturday nights
I could start a thread in /aco/ but I'd think it would pruned by the mods.
>It's not about the money,
Except IT IS about the money!
I talked about this with people that know the industry years ago when I was in college and they literally said that the reason we don't have any good cartoons/shows in Canada is because they have NO money.
Anyone that wants to make money/get a job in the animation industry moves to the United States to do so!
As opposed to the US, where you pay like 40%? Big fucking whoop user, I'll take my free healthcare
Dunno who you talked to, must be terrible people.
40% if you're making almost half a million
Guilty pleasure show.
My mother saw the title and told my sisters and I that we were too young to watch the show.
We still watched it though
You must be 18 or older to post on this site.
>trapped
just leave, nigger.
the worst they can do is deport you if they catch you
IF they catch you
You need an SSN to get a decent job, idiot. We're not talking fucking manual labor here.
This show ruined sick days
I hated teens then and I still do
I'm proud of you Sup Forums, I feel like you never used to be capable of making threads about this show without posting about the girls farting and how that was a merit to the show because equality or some shit.
