-----------------
9001. Ever other bond film ever made

nobody wanted a James Bourne movie

Sean Connery > Timothy Dalton > Roger Moore > Daniel Craig > George Lazenby > Pierce Brosnan > David Niven

I didn't like it because the whole plot was contrived and nonsensical.
The entirety of modern global politics is inherently based on doing things way more evil than damming underground water supplies in order to gain leverage over a banana republic dictator - which, by the way, I'm fairly certain isn't even actually illegal. Not to mention it's definitely not something that makes me feel invested in the outcome.

story is good, lazenby couldn't act to save his life.

Casino Royale is too low, I think it's top 3 of all time, other than that this list is bretty good

...

not him, but its an odd film

Yeah a few of the SC Bond films look dated but they were professionally filmed, some parts of OHMSS look really fucking strange, really badly shot

Its an action fest, and you can chuckle at some of the really strange film making decisions, its not one of the best but its fucking odd that it warrents a watch

also the final act of that film is fucking amazing, Bond calls in a favour from a Corsrian Crime Boss and storms the big baddies headquarters in the Alps because the UN have caved into his demands, and Bond joins a load of fucking nasty criminals armed with Sten guns and flamethrowers in setting explosives all over the Bad Guys HQ. Its amazing

Yes, it’s a story that actually gave bond some legitimate development, probably the most until the dalton times. Lazenby is th weakest part but it doesn’t ruin the overall impact of the story. Also best blofeld

Most of them are alright and it's easier to just name the bad ones:
Octopussy (BOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING)
A View to a Kill (Christopher Walken and Grace Jones are a delight but other than it has nothing going for it)
Never Say Never Again (Connery is too old. Movie was produced by a different company. Plot sucks.)
Die Another Day (so bad they had to reboot the series)
Quantum of Solace (far too many problems to list)

There you go. The rest are either good or okay. Roger Moore's movies will definitely be a challenge, as they are far more comedic but they are amusing IMO. Moonraker can be added to the avoid list if you don't like silly shit.

They’re ranked chronologically by tier, it’s nearly impossible to rank the Bond films individually

I watched the shit out of The Man With The Golden Gun as a kid. I loved it. This is an outrage!

from russia
goldfinger
thunderball
live and let die
moonraker

>Die Another Day (so bad they had to reboot the series)
>Quantum of Solace (far too many problems to list)

These are the ultimate pleb filters. Anybody who says they are bad is a retard.

You forgot the worst of them all...Spectre

It was enjoyable, but not a great Bond film. I watched the shit out of Octopussy which I’d rank as my 2nd favorite Moore Bond film next to For Your Eyes Only even though Octopussy wasn’t that great of a Bond film. A View to a Kill was shit though, but redeemed in a way by Christopher Walken as Max Zorin

All of them are shit. Wait till bond is played by a black tranny.

>skyfall
>not dogshit tier

this, plus license to kill and skyfall

Best one

Depends on what type of Bond you like, OP.

Early Connery is a "realistic, suave" type of Bond, relying more on charm, wit and skill than gadgets. Plots tend to be realistic and center on the Cold War.

Late Connery is more dependant on gizmos and the villiains become more and more outlandish.

Moore is peak outlandish Bond - Comic book supervilliains, crazy gadgets, nonsensical plots, but it can be good campy fun.

Dalton returns to the roots. He has realistic plots and low reliance on gadgets, but he is much less suave and charming than Connery. Instead, he is a wolfish, cold-blooded killer, more interested in getting the job done than getting the girl. IMHO, all his movies are good.

Brosnan instead returns to the suave, late-Connery, and dials up to 11. He is a Casanova that relies on pure gadgets and charm, the polar opposite of Dalton, but his early movies are good, especially GoldenEye.

Craig is an attempt at remaking Dalton, like him, he's more of a cold blooded killer and less a seductor, but he comes off as more sulking and brooding rather than a professional like Dalton. IMHO, his Casino Royale is one of the best movies of the Bond saga, but the others are terrible.

I prefer the realistic plots and don't like the over-reliance on gadgets and comic book villiains, so these are my top three Bond movies:

1. From Russia With Love (Connery)

2. The Living Daylights (Dalton)

3. Casino Royale (Craig)

This is the most "James Bond" James Bond movie. It's the inspiration for every nearly Bond parody and it's so dumb it's almost a parody itself. But it plays it totally straight and somehow it just fucking works and that's why it's the best Bond film.

The villains plot is fucking ludicrous, he launches this plot literally from a volcano base with a monorail. He's stroking his cat surrounded by henchmen. He's got a pool full of Piranhas in his office. Bond starts by faking his own death and then proceeds to fuck everything with a heartbeat, gets into a fucking gyrocopter chase, several car chases and leads a ninja assault. The Japanese secret service has their own secret subway, they disguise Bond as a Japanese fisherman with a wig and yellowface and have an army of ninjas ready to deploy at a moments notice. It's fucking Bond Kino.

OP here. I got an idea. If such a thing exists, recommend me the quintessential Bond movie. If I like it i'll be confident enough to check out the rest of the series.

...

Dalton is also physically closest to Fleming's description of the character.

Early Connery > Dalton > Late Connery > Craig > Brosnan > Moore > Lazenby

Good post. In my opinion Dalton is the best Bond

From Russia with Love, it’s pretty much the perfect Cold War story

Tommorow Never Dies would be a great start, not exactly the End All Be All Bond but possibly the best Bond in the Brosnan Era imo. More reliant on spy and gadgets than action, plus a unique villain to boot.

That movie is garbage and has the worst Bond Girl in the entire series.

You know who would’ve made a good Bond villain? Kevin Spacey. Too bad he’ll never act again.

wow ancient meme

>not Stacey Sutton from AVTAK

Very well put. OP listen to this guy.

>Mary sue chinese side kick

yeah, worst bond girl ever

Post the best bond girl

regardless of the movies, we at least know this is easily the best bond theme

youtube.com/watch?v=8C5NLfYdZaE

The appropriate order. Thunderball is the best Bond story. It's so good they basically made it twice.

>Last night I "Pierce Bun" your sister
> Last Night I " Bond Burger" your sister
> last night I " White guy terrible food" your sister.
wtf does this mean?

Never Say Never Again isn't an official Bond movie. It wasn't produced by Albert Broccoli.
