Imagine for a moment that the prequels were getting entirely remade from the ground up.

What would you actually want these new EP I/II/III movies to be like? What general storyline would you want to see?

Less focus on Anakin becoming Darth Vader

less gay padawan shit
more grievous/clones
less 'tell' more 'show'

Literally what we got, done better

they are already masterpieces. no alterations needed

Mace makes Ani even more upset.

this

>More development of Darth Maul.
>More conspiracies with Sheev.
>Anakin doesn't turn into a creepy Sith in Episode II.
>Give Padme a reason to fall in love with Anakin.
>Eliminate the Gungans entirely.
It's simple, really.

Fuck off Mouse.

I have zero trust in the mouse to get it right

>More conspiracies with Sheev.

What fun we could have.

Also no Yoda, at all. Elliot Rodger Anakin would be gone so he could have a more believable seduction to the dark side, something subtle.

>>Anakin doesn't turn into a creepy Sith in Episode II.
>>Give Padme a reason to fall in love with Anakin.
>>Eliminate the Gungans entirely.

But Anakin turning into a Sith is what makes Padme love him, as she's part of a society that wants the Gungans eliminated entirely.

>What would you actually want these new EP I/II/III movies to be like? What general storyline would you want to see?
EP1 and EP2 should be dispensed with entirely, they got nothing done plotwise. Instead adapt some arcs from TCW.

No. Anakin needs more Elliot Rodger moments. It just needs to be written better

>What fun we could have.
I just imagine him buying off or mind tricking Senators to suit his agenda. That would have been amazing.

>Elliot Rodger Anakin would be gone so he could have a more believable seduction to the dark side, something subtle.
This. He could start off by using the Dark Side for good reasons because it's easy.

>saga is about the rise and fall of Darth Vader
>make it less about Darth Vader
>mfw

Anyway, this though I'm happy with what we got (especially when compared to the new shit)

speaking of which, what do you think Leia's upbringing was like. I would like to know more about Jimmy Smits character and Leia's mother.

Darth Maul is the villian in Ep. 1 & 2 and Obi-Wan kills him in a duel at the beginning of Ep. 3, later fighting Anakin

>I would like to know more
This is wrong.

>I would like to feel more
This is right.

This
Also
>have Anakin turn against the jedi for moral reasons like not ending slavery on his home planet and stealing children for the order as well as personal reasons like saving his wife.
>yoda only fights with the force
>less jokes/characters aimed exclusively at children

No Jedi robes. No weird vow of celibacy. The Jedi have families. They wear armor when they got battle. Blue and Green aren't the only colors that Jedi use for their lightsabers. Some Jedi use double bladed lightsabers. The choreography is better. Christian Hayden isn't Anakin. Anakin isn't the chosen one. Anakin isn't some miraculous birth, he has a father who is a jedi, hence why Luke's family is strong with the force. Maul speaks more than a dozen words and has a larger role.

Something more along the lines of a Indiana Jones or Tomb Raider. A more "on the move" kind of pacing on Alien planets. An older Anakin. who's more of an equal to Obi-Wan, a more bro relationship throughout all three movies.

The Clone Wars in full swing at the beginning, Two Jedi's (Yoda and Qui Gon) and there apprentices (Obi Wan and Anakin) are sent to support troops on some planet because for some reason the tide of battle has changed. They discover the Sith are active in this war supporting the enemy. The rest of the movies are really space war movies with Jedi as like Spec OPs and you get to see this take a tole on Anakin and drive him to the dark side.

Don't change much just make more use of Maul, Dooku, and Jango Fett on screen. And give us more of the clone war. Tone down Jar Jar and the Gungans. If possible I want the droid to be absolutely brutal like Terminator style, terrorizing the fucking Republic.

Padme is being targeted by Maul. The trade federation/banking clan (controlled by Count Dooku) are onto her. Qui Gon and Obi-wan are ordered by the Council to protect Padme. Some Maul vs Qui Gon/Obi-wan fight. While Maul is handling the Jedi, Dooku also sends Jango Fett to assassinate other opposing politicians.

Qui Gon, Obiwan and Padme crash landed on Tatooine. Qui Gon and Obi-wan meet slave Anakin at his teenage year. Anakin displays strength in the Force, knowing how to use telekinesis. However, Anakin does not know why he can do it. Qui Gon and Obi-wan explains the Force to Anakin. Qui Gon encourages Anakin entering the pod race to win his freedom. Anakin uses his Force Strength and wins the contest easily. After securing the freedom, Anakin forces the blue Jew to free his mother too. Shmi is free. Anakin kills the blue flying Jew. All of this are done behind Qui Gon and Obi-wan back.

Maul kills Qui Gon, Obi-wan fails to defeat Maul and gets heavily injured. Obi-wan was lucky to escape. The entire Jedi Order is shaken by this news. Anakin asks if he can bring his mother to Coruscant when he joins the Jedi order and get rejected. Shmi has to stay on Tatooine. At the end of Episode 1, we have Qui Gon funeral. Sidious congratulates Maul for killing the Jedi. He also says thanks to Dooku for leaving the Jedi order and join the Separatist. Dooku is somewhat disgusted by Maul's presence because Maul just kills his former student. However, Dooku still compliments Maul's skill for being able to kill one of his Padawan.

The Supreme Chancellor sends Master Sifo Dyas on a secret mission to Kamino to order a clone army. Jango kills Sifo and then Episode 1 ends.

Darth Vader
>masked face

Darth Maul
>painted face

It is fascinating how you can see how was George thinking.

>Anakin, that senator used stolen taxpayer credits to fund an illegal tauntaun racing stadium from which he's reaped the profits for decades. What a shame it would be if he was found dead after a tragic landspeeder accident. You could bring about such an event with a subtle application of the force, and nobody would ever know it was you.

Anakin makes his own Darth Vader suit after his defeat by Obi-wan.

Yoda only uses the force.

Count Dooku has more screen time maybe he kills Darth Maul.

Anakin joins Sidious prior to them killing the Jedi. He takes on the moniker Darth Vader prior to have his body totally burned up.

Just make it this
youtube.com/watch?v=WSCm8yAxBr8

We wouldn't get primetime barebelly Herschlag in a remake, so no remake at all.

Honestly, I would already be glad if the screen time of Binks gets cut severely.

>Anakin is already Qui-Gon's Padawan, Obi-Wan is already a Jedi Knight.
>Young Anakin is played by the kid at 3:05 (youtube.com/watch?v=GZSnB7yGylc), Lucas literally fucked up at the final casting choice. Even then, we see very little of kid Anakin, just a few flashbacks of his childhood as a slave.
>No Jar Jar Binks, Gungans are less cartoonish and more like a honorable warrior race
>Trade Federation droids are actually menacing
>No midichlorians
>Less Senate politics
>Darth Maul kills Qui-Gon and doesn't die in Episode I, instead Maul becomes the main antagonist of the trilogy
>Dooku is not a Sith (Maul is the Sith), instead he is an interesting villiain because he truly believes the Confederacy is fighting for a just cause
>Anakin is ordered to execute Dooku BY THE JEDI COUNCIL, not by Palpatine. He follows the order, but having to kill an honorable former jedi conflicts him and puts him at odds with the Order, even though we do find out the CIS was doing fucked up things like war crimes, with Dooku's knowledge according to the Jedi, but we can't be sure of that (moral ambiguity and more turmoil for Anakin)

This might be a little disjointed, but whatever
>Maul lives and is the main bad guy for the three films
>no Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan was trained by Yoda and his characterisation is basically a combination of Qui-Gon's and his own
>make Anakin a little older, maybe 15-16
>keep the identities of Vader and Sidious at least a little ambiguous for those who may want to watch the whole saga in chronological order
>the Clone Wars are already in full swing at the beginning of Episode 1
>make the clones the bad guys
>no Yoda, have him only be mentioned in passing by other characters
>keep the Council, establish them as a bunch of corrupt tightwads who have slowly perverted the Jedi code to suit their own agenda, Yoda realises this and that's why he leaves
>more emphasis is placed on Mace Windu and Anakin's relationship - namely, Mace distrusting Anakin, treating him like shit throughout his entire Jedi career and unwittingly causing him to go further down the dark parth
>Padme takes Leia to Alderaan and doesn't die until she's a toddler
>the Jedi are in decline long before the trilogy starts - as of Episode 1 there's only a couple hundred left, mainly because Sidious keeps sending Maul to either kill or abduct any Force-sensitive children he can find
>make the Jedi less OP in general - for example, shit like levitation and telekinesis is only really, really advanced Force users
>replace Naboo with Alderaan, so that people can actually feel emotionally invested when it gets blown up in IV, and so that the Emperor is even more of a monster

We never see Anakin as a kid, but we meet him as a teenager.

PART 2:
>Palpatine is a father figure to Anakin, the father rolemodel he never had. He distrusts the Jedi after what he has been ordered to do against Dooku and spying on Palpatine, so when Palpatine tells him the Jedi are staging a coup against the Republic he truly believes him.
>Anakin's fall to the dark side is fueled by his hatred for Maul, his distrust of the Jedi which increases throughout the trilogy, and his devotion to Palpatine, not by any retarded dreams of Padme dying.
>The Republic Army is not made of clones, and they do not look like Jango Fett, that was retarded as fuck. Instead, the Republic troops are regular conscripts and volunteers who are fanatically loyal to Palpatine and Anakin, they see Anakin as one of their own, while they consider most of the other Jedi pacifists and cowards who speak from their ivory tower, Anakin has been leading them personally through most battles.
>When Order 66 comes around, Anakin personally leads the troops to execute it, most of them obey out of loyalty and distrust for the Jedi, not some programming bullshit.
>Anakin-Padme romance should still happen, but give them better lines for God's sake. Anakin shouldn't be a sulky insecure teen, by the second and third movies he should be a grizzled war veteran, fanatical in his defense of the Republic, who gets Padme wet.
>When Palpatine reveals himself as a Sith Lord to Anakin, he accepts it. He has come to believe the Jedi are no better than the Sith, and he trusts Palpatine with his life. No retarded promises of saving Padme from some dream. Just loyalty to a father figure and mentor.
>Anakin should resemble Luke more. Make him blonder. Give him a beard and a more grizzled look.
>Yoda never picks a lightsaber. He opposes most of the shitty Jedi Council decisions but there are Masters more influential than him who outvote him. When he confronts Palpatine, it's a shorter fight using force powers. Palpatine is the one who escapes.

This, but a slight change.

Something has to happen where Palpatine tricks Anakin into believing that the Jedi are responsible for the death his family (obviously they aren't). Which causes him to and kill all the Jedi. So In III we'd see a lot more Darth Vader fights, but with him in his suit. So more Earl Jones.

Stick with the plan that Jar Jar was the true Sith mastermind.

'less tell more show'

hellooooooooooo reddit

>"They fear what they cannot control, Anakin. When your wife refused to denouce you and indoctrinate your children into the tyranny of the order, they had her executed. You can trust me, I am your good friend Sheev. By the way did I ever tell you about Darth Bane?

>Anakin Skywalker is at least 5-7 years older
>the origin story from A New Hope of Anakin being a navigator on a spice freighter is actually true
>Anakin and Owen Lars are actually brothers
>Anakin joins Obi-Wan in an "idealistic crusade" that ultimately goes awry
>Anakin's mother is named Leia and Padme's father is named Luke
>Clone Wars start in Episode I as seemingly minor insurrection. Over the next few years, the Separtists gain ground with their droid armies, pushing the Republic back into the Core Worlds. The Clone Army is commissioned in Episode II in a last ditch effort to stave off imminent defeat. Episode III basically stays the same with the Republic chasing the Separtists back into the Outer Rim.
>Padme is turned into a Femme Fatale politician who uses her sexual appeal to get her way. Palpatine convinces her to seduce Anakin as part of his plan to turn him against the Jedi. Only one problem, Padme actually falls in love with him.
>Anakin actually mentions to Obi-Wan (perhaps after being expelled from the Jedi Order) that he wants his unborn son to have his lightsaber
>more airtime for Count Dooku
>Anakin watches Qui-Gon die and is traumatized
>Anakin's fall from grace is more subtle and fueled by his blinding belief in the authority of the Republic
>Anakin's decision to turn against the Jedi is seemingly made for far more noble reasons
>Padme is killed by Palpatine, but he frames the Jedi for it, fueling Anakin's rage
>Anakin and Obi-Wan's duel is ended by a stroke of pure luck (i.e. Anakin being struck by flying lava, being scalded by hot gases, slips and falls into a molten pit)
>Obi-Wan incorrectly assumes him to be dead
>Palpatine offers Anakin the choice of being granted a quick and merciful death or having his body rebuilt and hunting down the surviving Jedi, Anakin chooses the latter
>Anakin chooses the moniker of "Darth Vader" himself, thereby discarding his former identity
>kino Clone Shock troopers get at least one battle scene

>Anakin makes his own Darth Vader suit after his defeat by Obi-wan.

I'm torn between this and having him wake up in the suit post-surgery.

it would be 1 movie, 2 tops. It would already have anikin as a Jedi and married and would show his fall to the dark side. It would be made so it lines up better with the OT so there are no plot holes or problems with continuity. There would be no Jedi celibacy, Quigon, JarJar or OT Member moments for the sake of feels. Annikin is a grown man and not a whiney kid

Darth Binks comes to fruition.

bump

Cast a white guy to play Windu.

There's books around that era at the time of making those films. Disney will only make it worse.

Maybe turn Mace Windu's book into a movie? ( Shatterpoint ). It's also an ability of his in TCW

>saga is about the rise and fall of Darth Vader

That only became the case when George retconned Vader into being space jesus because of toy sales. Vader is NOT the focus of the OT.

the prequels aren't the trilogy that need the most reworking

Eh sure why your not watching star trek faggot

Just make it like that cut version someone made that has all three movies in one movie. Disney would make prequel remakes all worse somehow. Only thing I wish they expanded on in the prequels was how the Jedi Order came into existance. How did they find one another? What made them decide to become a council?

No space Jesus or chosen one shit, grungier look, Padme gives birth and lives but soon realizes Anakn is turning to the dark side.

Literally the same thing, except...
>Count Dooku makes a silent appearence on Episode I
>Jar Jar Binks is actually a Sith Lord, so it has a lot less of funny scenes and it has scenes that gives hints to his true identity on Episode I
>Jar Jar Binks is revealed to be a Sith Lord during Episode II and is killed by Count Dooku at the end of the movie

It's hinted that he was in the OT.

how about clone wars with obi wan?

Make Obiwan the sole main character

No stupid fanservice

No cgi that got old one or two years after the movie

Make lightsaber duels way rarer

No Greivous, give more of Dooku's nobility/swordsmanship character to Maul, make him the red herring villain throughout all three movies instead of having a rotating cast.

Vader wasn't even the primary antagonist in Episode IV and he didn't become properly important until it was revealed he was Luke's father.

Darth Maul, General Grievous, and Count Dooku would be much more present forces throughout all theee movies. They all just kind of appear then die pretty quickly. The rule of two wouldn’t exist, Sith would just be a Dark Side religion counter to the Jedi order.
Much of the second film would surround Anakin and Obi Wan having adventures together. Their relationship would be much more developed. My biggest complaint was that Anakin and Obi Wan didn’t seem like friends. If you watch the prequels then the OT, it doesn’t seem genuine when Obi Wan talks about how much of a great friend he was. Anakin also seems like he was troubled his whole life. When he becomes Darth Vader there isn’t much of a difference in personality. Kenobi says in ROTJ that Darth Vader is so different from Anakin that he thinks of them as different people, with one killing the other. I don’t get that from the prequels

>no midichlorians
>Jedi wear whatever they want, robes, armor, flightsuits, whatever, not a uniform
>Jedi can have families, the Skywalker bloodline is strong, Anakin's father Deak was a powerful Jedi warrior, and an old friend to Qui-Gon and Count Dooku
>they and the Republic have been in decline for a long time, only a few hundred Jedi left
>higher end of Force powers unlocked only by high ascended masters
>Anakin is already a Jedi Knight in Episode I, fighting in the Clone Wars alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi
>Darth Maul kills Qui-Gon and holds off Obi-Wan and Anakin before escaping at the end of the movie
>Maul is the front villain for the trilogy, gradually becoming "General Grievous" as he suffers more and more serious injuries over the course of the Clone Wars
>Anakin falls in love with Padme while escorting her back to Alderaan and saving her life during a terrorist attack
>Jedi Council refuses to join the war efforts
>Qui-Gon and Yoda ignores the councils mandate and investigate possibility of Sith involvement, with their old padawans in tow
>Anakin discovers relics, artifacts and holocrons of the ancient Jedi and Sith
>learns that the Jedi are responsible for the current state of affairs and that their apathy and arrogance has aloud the Sith to flourish in the shadows
>Palpatine, Anakin's long time father figure/mentor/old friend outside the Jedi order, approaches Anakin now
>says he can help Anakin find the Sith Lords
>Anakin says it is the Jedi who are to blame for letting the Sith survive and flourish and wreak havoc on the galaxy
>Anakin also says he now believes the Jedi and the Sith are the same
>Palpatine says he knows this too, and that together they can save the Galaxy from the scourge of the Jedi and the Sith
>the Clone Wars are tearing up the Galaxy and Anakin, now General Skywalker, a grizzled warrior and hardened veteran, leads his own army and has tapped into the dark side and channeled his rage to win crucial and decisive victories

1.Anakin and Obi Wan would be jedi knights training at the same time and not master/apprentice.
2.Jedi should be allowed to love and the "jedi costume" doesn't exist.
3.Luke and Leia are not twins as Leia can remember her mother.
4.Make Dooku a more sympathetic villain. He instead wants to separate the jedi from the Republic as he see's the jedi are being used as fodder for war. In reality, Dooku is grooming jedi into becoming sith.
5.Maul remains largely untouched. He represents the menace and aggression of the Sith, whilst Dooku is the more scheming and manipulative side.
6.Yoda doesn't fight with a lightsabre because it defeats the point of Yoda from the earlier films.
7.Stormtroopers are not clones. Cloning open up too many problems and it weakens the past credibility of the empire. Instead, Dooku's uprising of splinter jedi (largely calcuted by Palpatine, who remains Chancellor of the Republic) causes a rift within the Republic, turning them against the jedi and in turn Order 66 (which is a purge done by miltias which then become organized into imperial stormtroopers and officers.)
7.Anakin and Obiwan are closer in age, being more akin to younger brother/older brother. Also no child Anakin because that shit was stupid.
8.Padme remains largely unchanged.
9.Qui Gon was on the jedi council and the master of Obi wan and Anakin and a former apprentice of Dooku. Dooku attempts to sway Qui Gon to join him but he refuses, so Maul kills him. When Obi wan and Anakin engage Maul, Anakin's anger causes him to be clumsy, so Maul to chop off his hand.

>Anakin will do whatever it takes to save the Republic
>in his final duel with Darth Maul, Anakin brutally executes him despite Obi-Wan's pleas to arrest him
>this solidifies what Obi-Wan has been feeling for some time now
>Anakin Skywalker has fallen to the dark side
>Padme and Yoda are aware of it as well
>Anakin and Count Dooku strive together to bring peace between the Republic and the Confederacy
>together with Palpatine they plot to form the Empire
>Anakin hunts down the alien Confederation leaders while Palpatine and Dooku get down to the nitty gritty political scheming
>when all the frame work is laid, Jedi Knights arrive, led by Mace Windu, to arrest Palpatine and Dooku
>Windu demands that Anakin help bring them in
>Windu slays Dooku and before he can kill a defenseless Palpatine, Anakin steps in and slays Windu and all the Knights in his party
>Anakin executes Order 66 and begins systematically hunting down the Jedi Knights
>the Great Jedi Purge begins
>Yoda goes to Dagohbah, Obi-Wan takes Luke to Tattooine and Padme takes Leia to Alderaan, where she dies a few years later
>during the Purge Anakin suffers a number of injuries and slowly builds his Darth Vader suit over time to accommodate for the wounds
>in a dogfight with Obi-Wan, Anakin is shot down and finally completes the Vader suit in order to ensure his survival
>oh Anakin isn't the chosen one, he's just a hot shot starfighter ace and fearsome Jedi warrior
>hes not angsty and tantrumy
>he channels the dark side in the heat of battle in order to seal victory and uses Force choke and other dark powers, like Luke in Return of the Jedi
>the transition to Darth Vader begins during the Clone Wars and takes years, decades even, to come full circle
>the Empire forms after the Golden Revolution of the Jedi

No one ever thought this.

Okay, Mr. Mouse, here's my pitch: Darth Jar Jar version, featuring an Anakin who makes sense and has decent lines.

Episode 1: Jar Jar as we know him, except towards the end it becomes clear to the viewer (not the characters) that he was pretending and is actually a great Sith working with Palpatine. No rule of two bullshit, there's three Sith. Anakin had a father and didn't build 3PO or his pod racer. Being a genius pilot is enough talent for one child and Vader isn't the autistic inventor type, he's a choke first, ask questions later man of action.

Episode 2: Fewer logic loopholes and less run-time. No stupid arena scene with hundreds of Jedi and Boba Fett as a child. No Count Dooku needed as we have Jar Jar. Anakin doesn't lose his arm in Ep. 2, that's just redundant and cheap. Yoda doesn't jump or even have a light saber. Yoda is a frail old man already, remember he can barely lift Luke's ship 20 years later, then dies of natural causes.

Episode 3: There are only a few dozen Jedi in the world which fixes lots of problems: Only a few Jedi confront Palpatine because of how urgent and unexpected it is. Order 66 makes sense as large groups of clone troopers could overwhelm a Jedi even if he senses the threat (which all Jedi should). No Yoda vs. Palpatine, it's Jar Jar vs. Palpatine, Jar Jar dies but HIS lightning scars Palpatine into the look we know of him. Anakin vs. Obi Wan: No muh high ground nonsense that defies previous fights.

Still missing: A credible reason for Anakin to turn evil. Have the Jedi do more questionable shit or show their existing questionable behaviour better (like the indoctrination and anti-love aspects). There has to be something better than "hehe, maybe I could help your wife" followed by "actually I can't but please still work for me and stay evil". That cannot be Vader's back story, it's laughable.

P.S. No Grievous, another completely redundant character.

I approve of Anakin having a sinister streak right from the get-go but the rest sounds like you'd create a new problem for every one you solve. The trade federation shit was boring and adding another character into it would not make it more exciting. Also the droids being brutal (effective) is not a good idea because you're leading up to the OT where robots are unimportant. Why would the Empire ever switch to human(oid) underlings if robots had done a great job?

cut Windu, everything he did could be cut from the trilogy and the movies would probably improve as a result.

How do Obi Wan and Anakin end up as good friends if Anakin isn't an important character?
