Green Lantern: The Animated Series

Why the FUCK was this so good? I just recently marathoned it all and was genuinely impressed with how good it was. The animation was polished and smooth, the content was great and humor was spot on. Not to mention the incredibly sexy females plot with Razer and Aya was actually pretty compelling and some of their dialog was rather hard hitting. The only real complaint is the lack of a satisfying end and/or a third season.

Fun fact: the show runner was a director on season 2 and early season 3 of star vs

Saint Walker was great in that show, it was what made me really into seeing more of the Blue Lanterns.

I still have hope that we'll have a Walker/BL corps book someday.

>plot with Razer and Aya was actually pretty compelling and some of their dialog was rather hard hitting

Haha no, that shit dragged on forever and ruined the show.

It was pretty gud, also liked how they got stories from Gleason's corps run. Not a fan of Atrocitus' look in the show but then he's never had a good animated look.

For real. I wanted to see Sinestro Corps stuff and we wasted time on Aya throwing a galactic tantrum instead.

It was good up till the ending when a robot wanted to destroy all life because someone wouldn't give her the D

In her emotionless defense, it DOES add up that if there is no life then there are no living beings doing crimes.

It's good shit

> razer is expected to take all of aya's shit like using the face of his dead wife and be understanding
> aya gets to throw tantrums and piss all over razer's emotional issues

cause hal isn't a jerk?

They already had Red Lanterns as the enemy. Bringing in Sinestro Corps out the blue would've been dumb. We seen Sinestro only one time & he was a Green Lantern & friend of Hal.

If they got season 2, it would have been half a season of Sinestro Corps War and half a season of Blackest Night

There wasn't even a second season.
There was season 1a and season 1b.

>you have more of a soul than I ever had
>righteous fury over powering the effects of the blue lantern rings
Idk it was a lot of fun but agree that it shouldn't have ended on that note.
I would have loved to see some yellow lantern action.

I want to see Razer in the comics...

I see your opinion and raise you another; hell, I like coral and scars thing better than the weird spiky collar thing they usually do in the funnypages.

>great introduction to the Green Lantern without any comic book knowledge necessary
>Disconnected from larger DC universe, which makes story-telling more coherent
>OCs are actually nice and I wouldn't mind synergy in comics
And it's very obviously by fans for fans.

They had plans for the Sinestro Corps for the next arc, including Hal being framed for a crime he didn't commit and being chased down by John Stewart.

The whole mess with Aya was a massive waste of time besides setting up Scar. We could've had Sinestro earlier. We couldn't even get a cool Anti-Monitor arc since he was killed by Aya.

Those were the best Saturdays

Always confuses me that shit I made in about 1 minute gets reposted, but te things I spend hours on vanish and are never seen again.

Simple and accurate. GLTAS threads were like a group hug.
And Korra threads were Korra threads.

Korra threads are still Korra threads.

I remember when the sad saps posted the hope dog for weeks after the show was canceled. Both funny and sad at the same time

Didn't Volpe re-tweet Hope Corgi?

I think they're somehow worse now that the last comic came out.

Yes. There was never much hope for a show that was doomed from the start due to the failure of the GL movie.

They've gotten worse if anything. Funny how that was possible

I think the ending was somehow better for it. I really couldn't imagine a planned ending would have worked better thematically than the Blue Lantern Ring racing off across the cosmos.

It's funny. The show was both created and killed by the movie. It's like ouroboros or some shit.

GL and YJ were canceled because of corporate politics, not because they weren't getting ratings because they actually were very popular

Wasnt it just because muh toy sales

Because of the flop of the movie a lot of retailers wouldn't carry GLTAS toys.

The toy sales were just an excuse. The real reason was because of bad blood between DC and CN

It certainly doesn't help, but the toy sales was the biggest factor. They can't profit from the shows if they can't sell toys.

YJ's toys flopped, GL:TAS didn't have any due to the movie, and who knows why BtB didn't get any either.

The Guardians were massive pricks and fuck ups and are the main villains for the entire show. So they got that right

>Those comfy Saturday mornings of watching Korra,GLTAS,YJ, and Aquabats
pure Kino

Because Cartoon Network was simply getting through the remainder of their contract with DC at that point. They never had any intention to renew BwtBm

Rage at Korra

Relax with GL

Be surprised by YJ

Good fucking timee

They'd probably just kill him off for no reason.

DC can't make tv shows.

We never knew how good we had it, bros.

If creators care they can make good product
