He had a great song, tho.

Doesn't make up for his complete ineffectiveness at accomplishing his goals, whatever they were supposed to be. Taking over New Orleans?

Did anybody actually watch the movie to find out?

Fuck off back to Sup Forums

I'm serious, I've only heard his song, and seen some porn about the blonde chick.

I really felt like a whole lot of nothing happened in this film. If the two main leads were not frogs for 80% of the movie then it would probably be more interesting.

>Using the Sup Forums meme

It's really vague.
He want's to take over New Orleans (how?) but there's no explanation of what he wants to do with it, aside from using it as a source of souls to pay back his friends on the other side (why does he need to control the city to do that?). There's one throwaway line about how money is an even greater power than magic, but that never really comes up again. His body language early on implies he has some sort of resentment towards New Orleans wealthy (or maybe just the La Bouffs?) but that never amounts to anything either.
It feels like a really bizarre oversight which could have been fixed with a couple of extra lines.

It just felt all over the place to me. Like it would often go from "genuinely enjoyable" directly into "self-parody" territory right in the same scene a lot of times.

He turned a guy into a frog and transmorphed another in order to get mad cash and fresh pussy. That's pretty villainous.

>movie is actually famous for underperforming and being the last nail in the coffin of traditionally animated Disney movies
>herp-derp, he must have not seen it because he hates niggers
Are you retarded?

ITT: "Villains" that did nothing wrong

He wants to sell the souls of the people of New Orleans to his Friends on the Other Side, to pay his debt. The mechanics for how he does this are vague, but that's his main goal. That moment at the beginning is because he hates the wealthy elite of New Orleans, and while it's never stated outright, it's pretty clear that he hates them because he's a poor Creole man in the early 20th century Deep South.

>He turned a guy into a frog and transmorphed another in order to get mad cash and fresh pussy
So he did LITERALLY nothing wrong.

That musical number was fantastic, though. Really would've liked to see more of his backstory.

I wasn't a fan of the musical alligator and I was sort of disappointed that he didn't become human at the end. He also looked a little too cartoony.

>being the last nail in the coffin of traditionally animated Disney movies

Kind of a shame, really. It was a great looking film.

execs meddled too much and made the safest movie possible about blacks.

>because he's a poor Creole man in the early 20th century Deep South.
More like because this movie was made in the wake of the Financial Crisis and hating on the rich was pretty much mainstream and an ez way to make a villian sympathetic by way of making him talk sense.

nahhh, last nail was winnie the pooh released against harry potter finale

His song and the song from the other voodoo practicioner are the best part of the movie

I guess it allowed Disney to be a bit more creative on the staging of them

This. I hate the kid gloves media uses for black people. You either spray mud on Midwesterners or have Tyler Perry's minstrel shows and there's no inbetween.

The Proud Family really deserved a not retarded theatrical movie.

didn't he just want to be rich?

Princess and the Frog sucked hard and was pretty blatantly racist so I'm glad it's getting lost in the Disney universe because I don't need to remember it. It was boring and questionable at best when I saw it in theaters and it didn't get better the second time around.

>best thing by far in a movie about black people
>is white
Really makes you think.

>Waifufags
You need to leave

She's just a really entertaining character.
Ok she's cute.

Alright, now reverse the roles!

How would modern day media react to this movie?

So it's true what they say, negroes really do ruin everything

Which roles specifically? You mean a bug stepping on him, or are you referring to something not in the post you quoted?

Every character.

Kids gloves are used because blacks are overly sensitive. They're so overly sensitive, they're overly sensitive about people tiptoeing around them because they're overly sensitive

There's a reason why best Boondocks episode never got to air

That was the point. He's a con man archetype. Conned his way into a villain role, but is clearly in over his head.
