yes, he definitely can. great movie and seen it twice by now. although that doesnt change that anakin was a very cringy apparition on screen, regardless of whether or not hayden can actually act. he did the best he could and he does have a few scenes where he does pull it off, usually when he doesnt have to spout line after line of lucas dialog

bad direction and editing, basically. the writing isn't as bad as people would have you believe. "hurr i hate sand lol." dude was born into slavery on a desert planet. that's powerful dialogue. or at least it could have been.
everyone sucked in the prequels except for ian mcdiarmid, who basically said "fuck this" and played it for laughs.
